The explosions lasted a full minute. To Cibule and Prescott, that minute felt no less than a century! The blast had come too suddenly—so suddenly that they, with one foot already through the gates of victory, were violently blown back out!
A minute later, when the aftershocks finally faded, both men were in an utterly miserable state. Cibule's Battle Armor was already on the verge of being scrapped, and a large chunk of flesh had been torn from the right side of his golden lion-like face. The armor on his right arm was gone, and from the elbow upward, it was a bloody mess, hanging at an unnatural angle. It was likely broken. He had suffered the worst injuries. Before Ye Luo detonated the warship, his entire focus had been on subduing the Gold-Devouring Iron-Armed Ape before him. When the ape unleashed its ultimate move and fled into the portal, Cibule's first thought had not been to defend himself, but to drag that once-in-ten-thousand-years cosmic behemoth back!
Prescott was in somewhat better condition. Before the blast, he had sealed himself within several layers of ice. But now, the energy storm had stripped away three full layers of ice around him. Having pushed his frost power to the limit, Prescott suffered a backlash, and his combat strength had dropped by at least twenty percent!
As for Teresi and Sandy, Teresi had been blasted more than ten kilometers away and was drifting unconscious through space. Sandy had sensed something three seconds before the explosion and prepared in advance, making her the least injured of them all. She had now fished Teresi out, lest the unconscious man be smashed to death by one of the boulders floating through space.
"Damn Ye Luo! How could the explosion of a warship possibly be this powerful?!"
