"Boom..." The pontoon bridges had barely connected the two banks of the Yellow Springs River when the Xenomorphs emerged even faster than the Zerglings. Zerglings ran on all fours, but the Xenomorphs relied on two powerful hind legs! The three pontoon bridges were quite wide, each around fifteen meters across. Even Ultralisks could pass freely, yet before the overwhelming armies of Zerglings and Xenomorphs, these three bridges were no different from three narrow logs!
The instant the first Zergling collided with the first Xenomorph, the explosive strength of the Zergling's four limbs ultimately gave it the upper hand. It sprang through the air like a hunting cheetah, its two forelimbs pinning the Xenomorph's shoulders as its claws sank deep into its shoulder and chest. With tremendous force, it drove the Xenomorph to the ground. The bladed appendages behind the Zergling swept overhead, stabbing toward the Xenomorph's head like two spears. Yet though the Xenomorph had lost the first exchange, that did not mean it was unable to retaliate. At close range, it suddenly opened its jaws. The inner jaw deep in its mouth shot out with a "whoosh!" then retracted. Looking at the Zergling again, its entire head had been pierced through from its brow to the back of its skull by a wound as thick as two thumbs!
After killing its target, the Xenomorph did not immediately shove aside the Zergling's corpse. It opened its jaws, and its inner jaw shot out again. This time, however, the inner jaw was coated in a layer of whitish-brown matter. It fired into the Zergling's neck, directly severing its cervical vertebrae! Only then did the Xenomorph use its two forelimbs to push the corpse aside and continue charging toward the army.
