Background
Ye Meng first appears as the Zergling Hero among Ye Luo’s early summoned heroes. In human form, he manifests short blades from his hands and immediately joins Ye Luo’s tests of the heroes’ combat abilities. 3
He quickly establishes himself as a direct and aggressive subordinate, volunteering to clear obstacles for Ye Luo and leading Zerg forces against the Iron-Pincer Green-Spine Shrimp Sea Clan. Under his command, the clan is exterminated from the coast within ten days. 21 29 31
Appearance
Ye Meng normally uses a compact human form suited to close-quarters combat, but can transform into a much larger Zergling form. His later body is reconstructed from liquid metal, allowing severe physical damage to be repaired by reforming his body. 3 233 464 581
- In human form, he manifests a pair of short hand-blades rather than Ye Luo’s three-pronged claws. 3
- His Zergling form has grown from calf-sized to water-buffalo-sized and bears over a hundred red and purple inscriptions. 233
- His liquid-metal body can flow back together after being scattered into droplets, though sufficiently strong attacks can still injure him. 468 581
- During third-stage fusion, his human and Zergling forms merge into a single, vastly faster and stronger combat form. 715
Personality
Ye Meng is battle-hungry, competitive, and blunt. He frequently turns battles into contests—challenging Ye Bao to compare kill counts, provoking Jack the Ripper before the death match, and repeatedly seeking sparring matches with Ye Lei. 143 501 714
Despite his impulsiveness, he is unwaveringly loyal to Ye Luo. He obeys orders even when denied a battle, trains obsessively after being left behind for the Koprulu mission, and frames his goal as becoming Ye Luo’s sharpest sword. 702 708 787
He can also recognize threats beyond the battlefield. He warns Ye Luo that Emiria may be disloyal and helps Ye Chao deceive Tolstoy during the search of the Three Thousand Secret Passages. 631 539
Abilities & Skills
Zergling Physiology
Ye Meng combines a Zergling Hero’s natural speed and close-combat ability with a humanoid fighting style.
- Produces blade-arms for slashing, stabbing, and parrying in human form. 3 144
- Uses extreme acceleration and afterimages to close distance before enemies can react. 12 139 233
- Possesses enough raw force to shatter a Protoss carrier’s ion shield and cripple its power systems with a single punch. 790
- Favors direct, high-pressure melee engagements; he was unable to immediately overcome Blood Hand’s superior battle armor. 92
Liquid-Metal Body
Ye Luo has Ye Meng’s body recast from liquid metal, greatly improving his durability and recovery. 464
- Can repair penetrating damage as liquid metal reforms around his Zerg life essence. 468
- Can reconstitute himself after being blasted into liquid droplets. 581
- Lost a substantial portion of his liquid metal during the Taotie Domain campaign, reducing his margin for error against stronger enemies. 533 564
Phantom Clone and Combat Techniques
Ye Meng develops technical skill alongside his raw power, studying combat methods through the interstellar network and advanced Zergling units. 316 328
- Uses Phantom Clone to confuse opponents and create openings. 523
- Can split into eight clones while evading tracking attacks. 791
- Learns skills unlocked by the evolution of the Zerglings under his command through combat insight, sparring, and direct observation of advanced units. 328
- Uses coordinated strikes effectively with Ye Lei, including the Meng-Lei Combined Strike against Robin Becky. 233
Zergling Awakenings
His awakenings are the foundation of his later strength.
- Second-stage awakening manifests a Zergling-shaped energy body that can fight alongside his human form as a shared-consciousness clone. 468 469
- Third-stage awakening fuses both forms, granting immense speed, strength, and destructive power. 715
- The fusion initially destabilizes after seconds and leaves Ye Meng exhausted or unconscious. 715 732 753
- At Level 33, his enhanced fusion duration reaches ten minutes, allowing him to contend with peak Level 34 opponents. 787 791
Command and Vanguard Warfare
Ye Meng commands Zerg forces from the front rather than directing battles from safety.
- Leads the conquest of the Iron-Pincer Green-Spine Shrimp Sea Clan. 29 31
- Commands Zerg Swarm assaults during the Solier massacre and competes with Ye Bao for battlefield kills. 143
- Leads a fleet through a dangerous wormhole passage and orders the heroes to abandon their fleet when twelve Level 18 monsters surround it. 262 263
- Is appointed vanguard general for the Zerg counterattack against the human-Protoss allied army. 788
- Locates interstellar pirate dens around the Zerg galaxy in ten days, completing a mission for which Ye Luo allotted twenty. 647
