Su Xiaoqiang was already lost in her fantasies.

"If you didn't want me to eat the popcorn, you could've just said so. You kept bumping my hand on purpose—are you annoyed that I'm eating too much?" Lu Mingfei asked, squinting as he gripped Su Xiaoqiang's hand tightly.

Su Xiaoqiang looked at Lu Mingfei in disbelief, and a wave of anger surged within her.

"Fine, you little Ming, I've only had a little bit and you're already unhappy? I didn't even feel like eating it before, but now I'm just annoyed that you're eating too much!"

Su Xiaoqiang yanked her hand away from Lu Mingfei, grabbed the entire bucket of popcorn, and pulled it in front of her. She began shoveling handfuls into her mouth, her cheeks bulging.

Lu Mingfei was caught between laughter and tears. I was just joking, how did she end up like this? He quickly handed her his cola.

"Miss Su, drink some cola. You'll choke if you keep eating like that."

Su Xiaoqiang snatched the cola from Lu Mingfei's hand with a fierce glare.

Only after taking a large gulp did she realize it was Lu Mingfei's drink. She glanced at him, but Lu Mingfei was just smiling at her, completely oblivious.

Su Xiaoqiang drank the cola in silence, determined to finish it.

Lu Mingfei clicked his tongue in wonder; Little Goddess always managed to shine in every aspect.

The movie ended, and the two walked out of the theater, strolling in silence for a while.

Lu Mingfei asked, "Should we call Uncle Chen to come pick us up?"

"Wait a bit longer. Let's walk some more; there's something I want to tell you."

"Sure, go ahead."

They walked under the night sky. It was quite late, and the streets were empty, with only the bright moonlight shining down upon them.

"Um, Mingfei, if what I'm about to ask is hard to answer, you don't have to say anything," Su Xiaoqiang said.

Lu Mingfei nodded, signaling for her to go ahead.

"Are you the same kind of super-powered person as Senior Brother Chu? I saw him call over a bunch of people later; it looked like an organization. Do you encounter danger often?" Su Xiaoqiang asked with concern.

"To answer that, while there are some differences between Senior Brother Chu and me, we are indeed the kind of super-powered people you're talking about. And don't worry, I don't really run into much danger," Lu Mingfei replied.

"In your eyes, what are we ordinary people to you?" Su Xiaoqiang asked hesitantly.

"I don't know about others, but my rule is to wipe out the wicked and treat ordinary people normally," Lu Mingfei told Su Xiaoqiang.

"Then, in your eyes, how do you see me?"

Su Xiaoqiang twisted the corner of her shirt, feeling nervous, terrified that Lu Mingfei was only being nice to her out of indifference.

Lately, Lu Mingfei's personality had seemed truly detached; he appeared indifferent to everything. As long as he wasn't dealing with bad guys, he seemed to treat everyone the same way.

Seeing her nervous expression, Lu Mingfei found it amusing. She probably thought there was a barrier between a Shinigami like him and an ordinary person. Honestly, she was overthinking it.

Lu Mingfei reached out to pat her head, looking down at her. "Don't think so much. I was an ordinary person once, too, so I still have the emotions of an ordinary person. In my eyes, you are my best friend in this world right now. If you stopped talking to me, I'd be very sad."

Su Xiaoqiang's eyes gradually brightened. She had been feeling down lately, thinking about the gap between them and how they had their own social circles.

Because of his supernatural abilities, she always felt like she couldn't quite grasp him, like he was a dream, and she was terrified he might disappear one day. But now, after Lu Mingfei's answer, she finally felt at ease.

"I know!" Su Xiaoqiang said, hands behind her back, looking at Lu Mingfei with a radiant smile.

"You said you used to be an ordinary person, so can I become a super-powered person like you?" Su Xiaoqiang asked curiously.

Lu Mingfei thought of the Dead Servant experiments. Ordinary people injected with the serum only turned into mindless monsters, and his Shinigami Power was something only spirits could cultivate; he only managed to use it in his physical body due to special circumstances.

Thinking of this, Lu Mingfei replied, "No. And don't go thinking about such things. If you ever meet anyone who claims they can help you 'enhance' your abilities, don't believe them—come straight to me."

"Alright then."

Immediately after, Su Xiaoqiang asked, "What's up with that necklace of yours? I saw it turn into a long blade. Is it a special tool for your profession?"

Lu Mingfei took off the silver cross necklace and handed it to Su Xiaoqiang. "This is a special tool unique to me. I just used some special abilities to make it look like this; it's mostly for convenience when I'm out."

Su Xiaoqiang held the necklace and examined it closely, but couldn't make sense of it; she just thought it was amazing.

She handed it back, and Lu Mingfei put it away.

After passing the intersection, Lu Mingfei suddenly said, "Xiaoqiang, whatever you know, please don't tell anyone else, especially Senior Brother Chu. Don't leak the fact that you know about us. It seems they are very sensitive about ordinary people knowing. If they find out I helped you undo the brainwashing, it might cause some trouble."

He added, "Although I'm not afraid of such trouble, it's better to avoid it if I can."

Su Xiaoqiang listened to Lu Mingfei's instructions with a smile.

Suddenly, she asked, "So, do you still like Chen Wenwen?"

Lu Mingfei nearly stumbled. "What did you say!"

"I said, do you, right now, still like, Chen Wenwen!" Su Xiaoqiang enunciated each word deliberately.

"How do you know I used to like Chen Wenwen!" Lu Mingfei was shocked. "I remember hiding it quite well! How did you find out?"

"Give it a rest. With the way you acted, the whole school knew. You're probably the only one who didn't," Su Xiaoqiang rolled her eyes.

"You're exaggerating. There's no way the whole school knew," Lu Mingfei said with a 'don't kid me' expression.

Su Xiaoqiang sighed. Some parts of Lu Mingfei's nature never changed—he was such a dork.

"Even if others didn't know, can you just tell me—do you still like her or not!" Su Xiaoqiang pressed him.

Lu Mingfei retreated step by step, finding it strange—why was he backing away?

Stopping in his tracks, Lu Mingfei replied, "That was in the past. I was young, reckless, and ignorant back then. I definitely wouldn't like her now!"

Su Xiaoqiang nodded in satisfaction.

"Then who is prettier, Chen Wenwen or me?"

"It's definitely you. Chen Wenwen only ranks third in my book," Lu Mingfei answered in a heartbeat.

Su Xiaoqiang furrowed her brows. "You actually have your own ranking? Who are first and second?"

"Currently, Liu Miaomiao is second, and you are first. I'll update the list if I meet anyone better-looking later."

Lu Mingfei crossed his arms, looking smug as if he had just issued some sort of authoritative certification.

Su Xiaoqiang covered her forehead; she was truly defeated by him.

With their conversation concluded, Su Xiaoqiang called Uncle Chen. He dropped Lu Mingfei off at home first, then headed back himself.

At home, Lu Mingfei looked at the iPhone in his hand and sighed, feeling as though he had been kept by someone today.
