"This spell is very simple. It's called the Lightness Technique. As the name suggests, it's a spell that reduces your body's weight." After finishing the Magic Array, the magic teacher explained it to the class.
At the name, everyone's eyes lit up. A spell that reduced your weight? That really was useful. It was basically a buff!
Li Yu studied the casting principles on the blackboard and quickly memorized them, mastering the spell with ease. He tested it out. It required very little magic, and it was quick to cast.
All things considered, the spell was excellent. You could even use it in a fight, which was pretty great.
"Now, everyone give it a try. Follow the steps I've written to channel your magic, trace out the Magic Array, and cast the spell." The magic teacher looked at the class and told them to get started.
To give everyone plenty of chances to practice, he even activated the classroom's Magic Array so they could recover their magic quickly.
At his words, the students spread out and began testing the spell. Some failed as soon as they cast it, and the surging magic left them covered in dust.
Others succeeded right away. It really was a simple spell, and anyone with decent magical talent could master it easily.
Li Yu had no trouble casting the Lightness Technique. He gave a light jump and soared into the air, nearly crashing into the ceiling.
Seeing this, the magic teacher called out, "Anyone who's already mastered it can go outside to test it. Don't disturb the other students in the classroom."
He was familiar with Li Yu and had heard about his talent for learning. Li Yu could master most things after a single lesson, so there was no need to worry about him.

"Holy crap, teacher! Li Yu jumped off the building!" A student who had witnessed Li Yu's leap cried out in alarm, then started to rush outside after him.
"Quiet!" The magic teacher was so exasperated he couldn't help laughing. What the hell did he mean, Li Yu had jumped off the building? He was testing the Lightness Technique! Had these kids forgotten what they were learning?
The student fell silent at the teacher's shout, realizing he'd probably misunderstood. That was awkward!
"Get back to studying. You'll be using these spells next week. Don't make a fuss over every little thing." The magic teacher lectured the class.
At those words, quite a few students looked embarrassed. They stopped paying attention to Li Yu leaping around outside and focused on learning the spell instead.

After they'd gotten a feel for it, Li Yu suddenly asked Asuna, "Asuna, want to have a sparring match? With weapons!"
Yukino Yukinoshita wouldn't fight Li Yu, but Asuna probably wouldn't refuse, right? Nothing helped you get the hang of a spell faster than actual combat.
So Li Yu wanted to spar with Asuna and see how the spell performed in a real fight. Asuna seemed to be thinking the same thing. She smiled and accepted his invitation. "Sure!"
