Yes, it was too short—so short that this month and a half made it difficult for him to achieve much with the Six Powers.
Among the three major shonen manga, in the eyes of Suifeng, the Six Powers of the Navy were the most suitable for the Naruto world, outside of the power systems native to it.
Because the Six Powers were a form of taijutsu, and the primary prerequisite for taijutsu was physical fitness. Even if the physical constitution of the Naruto world couldn't compare to the monsters in the One Piece world who had consumed Devil Fruits, the constitution of a ninja should be comparable to the average person in that world.
Looking at the techniques of Might Guy, there were traces of the Six Powers within them. Even if his current physical fitness was lacking, once he opened the first few of the Eight Inner Gates, he should be able to meet the requirements for training.
However, wanting to master the Six Powers in just a month and a half was nothing more than wishful thinking.
No, that wasn't right—it wasn't entirely impossible.
An idea sprouted in his mind.
The Six Powers of the Navy, while called "six," were effectively only three: Shave, Iron Body, and Paper Art. As for the other three, Moonwalk and Tempest Kick were upgrades to Shave, while Finger Pistol was an upgrade to Iron Body.
Shave, needless to say, was impossible to master in a month and a half. Kicking the ground ten times in 0.6 seconds was not impossible, but it required long-term, grueling training.
Paper Art was the same. By relaxing the entire body and moving with the air currents generated by an opponent's attacks, one could make the body as thin as paper, controlling it with ease to dodge attacks at the very last second. Even if this technique could break the dimensional wall and be used in the Naruto world, it relied heavily on talent. Most importantly, the description of "dodging at the last second" was lethal; if not practiced well, one would be killed by the opponent before even dodging. Kakashi was a speed-type fighter, and using a half-baked Paper Art in front of him was just asking for death.
Only Iron Body had a glimmer of possibility. This technique focused primarily on damage resistance; as long as one could take a hit, one could train it. By accelerating blood flow and increasing muscle movement, one could harden the muscles to the strength of steel.
Of course, a month and a half of training wouldn't allow him to truly master Iron Body, but he didn't need to truly master it!
"Are you serious?!"
Uchiha Fukuyama took the club Suifeng handed him, his expression bizarre. "You're sure you want to use this thing to hit you?! You intend to use this method to defeat Kakashi?"
"I don't have any other choice!"
Suifeng's mouth twitched. "Teacher Uchiha Fukuyama, you've trained me for so long—do you think I can beat Kakashi?!"
"This...!" Uchiha Fukuyama paused, pondered for a moment, and then shook his head. "Kakashi's strength is above yours. Even though you train very hard, it is almost impossible to surpass him in such a short time."
Although the number one clan of Konoha could be a bit foolish, they possessed basic common sense. Ninjas were best at assassination and intelligence gathering. Since Suifeng was dueling Kakashi, it was impossible for them not to have gathered intelligence on him. Uchiha Fukuyama was responsible for training Suifeng, so he knew the intelligence on Kakashi like the back of his hand.
Although Kakashi was currently only a genin, he had already completed one or two C-rank missions in the short time since his promotion. His strength was already approaching, or perhaps had already reached, that of an average chunin. While Suifeng trained hard and had awakened the Sharingan, he was at most at the level of an average genin.
The Uchiha clan knew this internally, but knowing was one thing, and acting was another. It was just a duel between a ninja academy student and a genin. Winning was good, but losing didn't matter; the failure of a child who hadn't even graduated from the academy didn't represent the glory of the Uchiha. The key was not to lose face, and not to lose too miserably.
Previously, it was because Suifeng had lost so miserably that the Uchiha clan had lost face. If Suifeng hadn't awakened the Sharingan in time, he would have been abandoned by the clan by now—how could he still be receiving specialized guidance from a jonin?
Receiving Uchiha Fukuyama's reply, Suifeng said, "Therefore, it is almost impossible to defeat him through conventional means. His speed is very fast. Although I have awakened the Sharingan and can see his movements clearly, my body and reflexes cannot keep up. So, I have to think of another way."
"And your way is to get beaten up!"
"His speed is too fast; he can end a fight in an instant, just like last time. As long as I am not faster than him, I cannot win, and I am very likely to be killed in seconds. I cannot afford to lose face like that, so I must restrict his speed!"
"All I need is one strike, one opportunity!"
"Block one of his strikes, and seize one opportunity!"
Suifeng said, "I have the means to create that opportunity now; what I lack is a way to block his strike!"
"I understand!"
This was a very common targeted tactical approach. As a jonin, he was naturally no stranger to it. Although he felt this targeted tactic wasn't very reliable, the fact that it was formulated by a child who had just entered the ninja academy made him look at him with new eyes.
Thus, he quickly raised the club...
"Thud!"
"Aaaargh...!"
A long, mournful wail echoed through the training ground, followed by Suifeng's exasperated voice: "Why are you so fast?!"
"Would it be effective if I weren't fast?!"
"I'm training my damage resistance, not my speed! Slow down!"
"Thud...!"
"Aaaargh... can't you be a little gentler?!"
"Thud!!"
"A little lighter!"
"Thud...!"
"A little slower!"
"Thud!!"
"Ouch, that's too heavy!"
"Thud!!"
"Don't hit there...!"
"Thud!"
"You're definitely doing this on purpose!"
That night, Suifeng lay on the tatami mat, bruised and swollen, his body covered in black and blue marks, twitching from time to time.
Uchiha Kazuko sat before the tatami, eating a seaweed rice ball as she said, "Are you sure this is enough to defeat that Kakashi? He is the son of the White Fang and specializes in swordsmanship. You...!"
Suifeng's expression stiffened instantly, a sudden panic rising in his heart.
"It won't happen. I'm just an Academy student who was one-shot by him before. With Kakashi's arrogant personality, he would never draw his blade against me, nor would he even use a kunai!"
Suifeng shook his head, his tone firm. "Right, he definitely won't. If he drew his blade, he wouldn't be Kakashi anymore!"
"Suifeng, I feel like you've been a different person ever since Kakashi taught you a lesson!" Kazuko swallowed her rice ball, staring at Suifeng with a puzzled tone. "You weren't like this before!"
"What's different?!" Suifeng's heart tightened, but he replied with feigned indifference, "I was just woken up by Kakashi's beating. I don't want to be humiliated like last time again!"
"Do you really think you can defeat Kakashi like this?! I don't think your chances are high."
"How will I know if I don't try!" Suifeng seemed to recall something. "Right, Aunt Kazuko, after my duel with Kakashi is over, teach me medical ninjutsu!"
