As Fang Yang led Xia Yilin on a tour of the ancient temple, he also passed on some scriptures he had found in Amitabha Great Emperor's inheritance.
Although Xia Yilin had returned to secular life, she had chosen to practice the Western Desert Buddhist Sect's techniques early on, when she first began cultivating. She had yet to change her foundation. However, as the Great Xia Imperial Princess, she could study the Supreme Emperor Scripture of the Great Xia Dynasty and revise her primary cultivation method herself in the future.
In Fang Yang's view, however, she was still better suited to Buddhist cultivation. The Supreme Emperor Scripture was far too domineering. Its most important section, the Dragon Transformation Scroll, unlike the Monster Emperor Scripture, did not focus on transforming one's innate aptitude. Instead, it emphasized refining Imperial Dragon Qi and turning it into the ultimate offensive power.
Fang Yang was actually quite suspicious that the Supreme Emperor had obtained the secret inheritance of some ancient Dragon Emperor early in his cultivation and used it to create Imperial Dragon Qi. Otherwise, if this secret technique had evolved solely from the Human Body Great Dragon without any external influence, then all one could say was that the Supreme Emperor had possessed an utterly murderous nature.
Whether or not that suspicion was true, the Supreme Emperor Scripture was simply a very poor fit for the Buddhist cultivation Xia Yilin practiced.
As for why Xia Yilin practiced Buddhism instead of the more profound and wondrous Supreme Emperor Scripture, one had to go back to the day she was born.
That day, heavenly flowers rained down, Zen chants echoed, golden lotuses sprang from the earth, and sandalwood incense filled the air. All manner of Buddhist signs manifested, revealing that Xia
