Threatening words came from Dodoria, and the atmosphere immediately turned cold.
"Hm? You want my Scouter? You always looked like a simple-minded brute, but I didn't expect you to have a little sense when it mattered. You know what's important." Vegeta took the Scouter off with an amused look.
After all, he had brought the thing to Planet Namek to make getting around easier and keep track of the Frieza Force's movements.
Now that his strength had grown and his ki training had reached a certain level, his senses were far more useful than this Scouter.
Dodoria's native face twisted at Vegeta's taunt.
But he didn't lose his temper. He decided to get the Scouter first, then continued, "Hand it over, and I might let you go. Otherwise, you know what'll happen. If I kill you, I can still take it."
"Is that so?" Vegeta gave him a cool smile, then tossed the Scouter onto the ground in front of Dodoria. "If you want it, pick it up yourself."
"You! Fine, very well!" Dodoria was furious, the veins on his forehead bulging, but he still didn't dare push things too far.
He stepped forward and bent down to pick up the Scouter.
In the blink of an eye, Vegeta moved at incredible speed and appeared in front of him, planting one foot on his head.
The gesture unquestionably enraged Dodoria. His pent-up fury erupted, and a fierce aura burst from his body.
Vegeta had originally intended to crush the Scouter right in front of him.
But Dodoria had lowered his head all the way. He was practically begging to be stepped on.
"You really are a good dog. Even the way you pick things up looks like you're groveling for scraps." Dodoria's outburst didn't faze Vegeta at all.
That brute strength was decent. Before Vegeta had unlocked his potential, it might have surprised him a little. After all, Dodoria had just unleashed a power level of 22,000.
But in front of him now, Dodoria wasn't even an ant. Vegeta only needed one percent of his power to hold him down.
"H-how is this possible?! How can you be so strong?!" Driven by rage, Dodoria's surging power seemed to grow stronger, but he still couldn't budge Vegeta in the slightest.
Not only could he not stand, but Vegeta pressed him straight into the ground, his head nearly driven beneath the surface.
Only then did he remember the intelligence they had received: Vegeta's power level surpassed his and Zarbon's.
It had been true!
"How am I this strong? That's none of your business. All you need to know is that my power is beyond anything you can imagine. Even Frieza without transforming would have to give way to me." Vegeta sneered and pressed down harder.
Dodoria's entire head sank into the ground.
He struggled desperately, but it was no use.
After crushing him for a while, Vegeta had finally avenged the original Vegeta and let out all that pent-up anger. Feeling much better, he lifted his foot and kicked Dodoria away.
It was just a casual kick, but it sent Dodoria flying all the way to another island.
An explosion rang out, and a pile of rubble buried his entire body.
Smoke billowed, and shock waves swept across the area.
Vegeta strolled forward, step by step, then rose into the air and reached the place where Dodoria had been buried.
"Trying to play dead in front of me? Do you think I'm as stupid as you lot, unable to tell whether someone's alive or dead? You can't hide from my senses." Vegeta sneered. A sphere of energy appeared in his palm.
It was dense enough to destroy a planet.
Of course, it wasn't powerful enough to destroy a planet as large as Planet Namek.
"No, please! Vegeta, spare me! If you let me go, I'll tell you a secret." Dodoria's voice came from beneath the rubble. A moment later, his battered figure crawled out, dozens of bleeding wounds covering his body.
"Oh? You can beg for mercy, too? A secret? Heh heh! Don't tell me you're going to say that Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta and the Saiyan race. If so, that's a shame. You're just a poor fool who knows nothing." Vegeta spoke with contempt.
Frieza was just a dog controlled by the God of Destruction.
"You—you know about that? Who told you?" Dodoria was stunned when Vegeta revealed the secret outright.
King Frieza had strictly forbidden anyone from discussing it.
He had only kept Vegeta around to toy with him.
But Vegeta had known all along. That meant he had never been loyal to Frieza and had been quietly building his strength the whole time.
They had all underestimated Vegeta.
"Anyone with half a brain could figure it out! A meteor hit the planet and made it explode? Do you actually believe such a flimsy excuse?" Vegeta appeared in front of Dodoria in an instant, the energy sphere in his hand aimed at his face.
Dodoria was horrified. He kept stumbling backward in fear, then tripped over a rock and fell.
Vegeta burst out laughing.
Dodoria looked intimidating, but seeing him like this was downright comical.
Toying with him like this was a way to avenge the original Vegeta, too.
"So, you might as well die. Don't worry. I'll send Zarbon and Frieza down to join you soon enough! Once you're in Hell, you can keep being Frieza's dogs." Without giving Dodoria a chance to catch his breath or beg, Vegeta fired the energy sphere.
"Boom!!!!"
The energy sphere swallowed Dodoria and exploded in an instant, engulfing him completely without a hint of suspense.
His energy plummeted, then vanished altogether. The explosion sent a howling gale across the area, shaking everything for dozens of miles.
After taking care of Dodoria, Vegeta looked toward the other direction.
The other of the two energy signatures he had sensed earlier belonged to Zarbon.
The two of them had clearly agreed to search in different directions.
Dodoria was dead, so Zarbon had to die, too.
With Frieza's right-hand men gone, Frieza would be unable to do anything until the Ginyu Force arrived.
Before Vegeta could make a move, a voice suddenly sounded in his mind.
It was a telepathic message from the Grand Elder. He had sensed Zarbon's route, and if Zarbon continued onward, he would reach a village where a Dragon Ball was kept. So he hoped Vegeta would step in and deal with him.
Vegeta agreed. He could repay part of what he owed the Grand Elder this way.
Besides, Vegeta suspected that village might be the one the original Vegeta had reached and destroyed in the original story...
