When she had arrived, there had been only a single carriage. This time, she was heading back with a long convoy. It included members of the Stonemason Guild who specialized in construction, staff from the bakery, and several members of the Patrol Cavalry.
After returning to the valley, Sylutia first had the bakery staff bring out the 2,400 jin of wheat in storage and hand it over on the spot for transport back.
The Stonemason Guild members then surveyed the valley before choosing a spot along a cliff face to excavate. They quarried a large quantity of stone to use in building the windmill.
Since the guild members were mostly Transcendents, they worked far more efficiently than ordinary people. Many of them were apprentices with the Castle Aspect. As they built the windmill, they carved special patterns into it, forming a small, stable barrier that kept other creatures from approaching and offered some resistance to Distortion's corruption.
Once the windmill was complete, they cleared a large area of flat land around it, paved it with stone slabs, and filled the gaps with limestone plaster. Finally, they coated the surface with a layer of special Grey Mud. Once it dried, it became exceptionally hard, much like the cement Sylutia remembered.
The area could be used to dry and thresh grain, or as a square.
Next came the toads' dwellings. The little huts they'd had before were still too primitive, and the toads had built them themselves out of wood, leaving them crooked and lopsided.
Now they were all replaced with neat, well-built houses. They also constructed a dedicated kitchen, dining hall, toilets, and bathhouse, making the valley comfortable enough for people to live in someday.
Last came the warehouses. At Sylutia's request, they built three in the valley: one inside an
