Among the Mangekyō Sharingan known to Mizuki, Uchiha Obito was the only example capable of avoiding the decline in vision—and even blindness—that came with frequent use.
Without becoming an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, it could not truly be considered the Sharingan's ultimate form. Yet in terms of power, there was no fundamental difference between the two; the difference was merely one of proficiency in use and the amount of ocular power.
The perfect Susanoo wielded by an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan was not necessarily much stronger than one wielded by a Mangekyō Sharingan.
But the consumption of ocular power remained an obstacle that could not be avoided.
Mizuki had not completely figured out what ocular power actually was, but it undeniably existed. Once one had examined a Mangekyō Sharingan, they could understand the existence of such a thing.
How the ocular power of Mangekyō Sharingan transplanted between blood relatives was upgraded into an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, and what exactly counted as its original form—probably no one could say for sure. Madara Uchiha had merely received his younger brother Izuna Uchiha's Mangekyō Sharingan by accident, inadvertently discovering the secret of ocular power fusion.
A simple transplant procedure like this naturally posed no difficulty for Mizuki.
"Though I don't know what you were thinking, you really are impressive to have killed Shimura Danzō just like that!"
With that unpleasant man dead, Mizuki was in a good mood and unusually offered Sasuke Uchiha a few compliments.
"That washed-up old bastard should have died long ago."
A smug smile appeared at the corner of Sasuke Uchiha's lips.
"Hatred can grant people strength, especially the Uchiha."
Still believing that he had personally avenged himself, Sasuke did not think there was anything wrong with what he had done.
"There's only one left!"
"Is that so? Then good luck."
