A Small Scheme

Since Konan did not trouble Mizuki, Mizuki naturally turned a blind eye to her as well. As for the Rain Ninja assisting her, Mizuki had no particular thoughts about them. As long as they managed the Land of Rain well and contributed their faith, that was enough. As for any little secrets they might have, Mizuki could not be bothered to care.

However, sometimes things did not develop as one imagined. Mizuki not wanting to cause trouble did not mean Konan would not have ideas of her own.

A pair of figures with enormous paper wings rose from the ground, then sped rapidly out of the Land of Rain.

"What are they doing?"

Weaving through the densely packed high-rises of the Land of Rain amid the constant rainfall, visibility was poor and the commotion was not particularly great. But after seeing the barrier Mizuki had used against Kakuzu, one would have to be incredibly foolish to think he could not detect such a disturbance.

"Wouldn't it have been better to leave quietly? Why make such a spectacle of it? Are they afraid we won't notice?"

Gongzhi sensed the area for a while before speaking after some thought.

"Perhaps Konan is even more naive than we imagined. Mubi, Oboro, and Kagari's investigation must have been discovered by Konan..."

"You mean..."

Hope said in disbelief.

"She thinks we might harm Hibiscus, Water Lily, and Hydrangea, so she exposed herself and fled the Land of Rain to protect those three female Rain Ninja?"

Even naivety had its limits. Such a simple trick—what was it supposed to prove? If Mizuki had wanted to harm them, those people would have become corpses long ago.

"What should we do?"

Gongzhi rubbed his temples with a headache.

"Symbolically chase her down and drive her out of the
