Background / History
The Xia Emperor is the ancient ruler of the Great Xia World and ancestor of the Xia Mang Clan, a branch of the ancient imperial Xia Clan. Having lived from the ancient Pangu World through repeated catastrophes, he conquered Great Xia during the era of gods and demons and ruled it for countless years. 39 73
He arranged for his youngest son, Xia Manggan, to cultivate away from the royal capital rather than grow up sheltered by imperial privilege. Even after receiving reports of Xia Manggan's rapid progress at the Black-White Academy, he ordered his subordinates not to interfere unless Xia Manggan faced mortal danger or needed assistance breaking through to the Primordial Spirit realm. 2 39
Anticipating turmoil in the Three Realms, he sought connections with powerful factions to safeguard the Xia Mang Clan. He consulted Lu Dongbin regarding the Immortal Fate Assembly and used the gathering of Dao Ancestors to strengthen Great Xia’s prestige and fortune. 66 101
When the Shaoyan Clan attacked Xia Manggan in the Northern Abyss Ocean, the Xia Emperor intervened personally, destroyed or severely injured their spirit beasts, executed Heavenly Immortal Huoba, and forced the remaining attackers to withdraw. 94 He subsequently rewarded the Black-White Academy with a Reincarnation Edict and publicly named Xia Manggan as Prince Gan and his successor. 95 96
After Xia Manggan uncovered the Wujian Sect and Ten Thousand Demon Cave’s activities, the Xia Emperor coordinated a covert campaign against suspected strongholds. He summoned the Xia Mang Clan’s Heavenly Immortals and assigned True Immortals and Celestial Gods to eliminate traitorous forces and rescue captured Puppet Masters. 128 130 131
Xia Manggan later entrusted him with the Peering Heaven Taihao Pagoda, Chaos Spirit Liquid, the Flash Heaven Star treasure set, and extensive cultivation resources. The Xia Emperor entered seclusion, eventually breaking through to become a Dao Ancestor. 152 153 162
As a Dao Ancestor, he confronted the Wujian Sect’s Ink Bamboo and later entered the Fifth World to rescue Dongyan Yun. There, he publicly revealed his numerous avatars and his control over extraordinary divine water while fighting the Black-Robed God King and Dao Ancestor Wuying. 166 246 247

He deliberately allows his son to face hardship independently, expresses pride in his accomplishments, and readily supports his cultivation with treasures, access to the Great Xia Treasury, and strategic guidance. 39 98 130

Upon confirming the Wujian Sect’s influence over local factions, he declared that traitorous sects were to be annihilated completely as a warning to the Great Xia World. 131 Conversely, he can remain composed under extraordinary temptation; even when presented with top-grade Chaos Exotic Treasures, he initially urged Xia Manggan to keep them for himself. 243
