A Sudden Change! Janembuu

The sky tore open with a massive rift, its pitch-black mouth seeming capable of swallowing every living thing.

A towering figure emerged from the rift and appeared before them.

"Who... is that guy?"

"That energy... It's so strong. Unbelievably strong."

Son Gohan and Trunks stared grimly at the figure walking out of the rift, treading on thin air.

What the hell? How had Janemba shown up? This made no sense. Sun Xiaotian cursed inwardly. No matter how powerful Janemba was, he should only have been running rampant in Hell before Gogeta defeated him. Could the whole plot have gone off the rails because Vegeta had been absorbed by Buu and survived? WTF?

"This energy... This is... Frieza." Sensing the familiar energies within Janemba, Son Gohan looked even more shocked. "Cell, Broly, Turles... It has all their energy, too."

"What?!"

Sun Xiaotian looked astonished. He could sense those familiar energies, too: Frieza, Cell... So that was why this guy didn't look quite like he did in the anime. He must have transformed after absorbing all that evil power... Damn it, this guy was way harder to beat than Buu.

Sun Xiaotian cursed inwardly. In the original story, Janemba could read minds and predict his opponent's next move. His dad in Super Saiyan 3 had been mercilessly beaten into the ground. Now Janemba had absorbed the power of all these major villains, too. His dad in Super Saiyan 3 was probably... in serious trouble!

"Roar!"

Janemba spotted Sun Xiaotian and let out an excited roar at the sky. Then he abruptly sprang forward, flying at Sun Xiaotian and throwing a punch.

"Boom."

Janemba's punch struck Sun Xiaotian's right cheek, turning his face to the side.

"Hey," Sun Xiaotian said coldly, grabbing Janemba's arm. A fierce glint flashed in his eyes. "You're asking for it, Janemba. Looks like I need to teach you how to behave."

"Boom."

"Oof!"

Sun Xiaotian landed a lightning-fast punch in Janemba's stomach. The terrifying force made Janemba spit up bitter fluid. While Janemba doubled over, clutching his stomach in pain, Sun Xiaotian clasped his hands together and brought them crashing down onto Janemba's back.

"Boom."

Janemba slammed into the ground, leaving a massive crater.

"Aaargh!"

"Whoosh!"

Janemba gathered his energy and blasted away the rocks and dirt covering him. A pillar of dark purple energy shot up from the ground.

Janemba fixed Sun Xiaotian with a ravenous glare and raised his hand. One energy blast after another streaked toward Sun Xiaotian like brilliant meteors, each powerful enough to reduce a city to ashes.

"Get lost!"

"Bang, bang, bang."

Sun Xiaotian snorted. The moment the meteor-like energy blasts neared him, an invisible aura appeared out of nowhere and knocked them aside.

"Boom."

"Boom."

"Boom."

The energy blasts struck the ground, blowing huge craters into its smooth surface. The pockmarked terrain looked like the moon's cratered surface. Fortunately, no one lived for miles around. Anyone who had lived there had already been killed by Babidi's crew.

"Boom."

Sun Xiaotian punched Janemba square in the face, badly distorting it. He followed up with another punch, ready to hit him again, but Janemba's body broke apart into a number of small cubes and reappeared behind Sun Xiaotian.

Huh? So he could teleport by breaking apart. Interesting.

"Boom."

Janemba had barely reappeared behind Sun Xiaotian when Sun Xiaotian kicked him flying. Having seen the original story, Sun Xiaotian knew all about Janemba's signature trick—the one he'd used to run circles around Son Goku in Super Saiyan 3.

"Gurgle, gurgle."

Kid Buu, who had been waiting nearby, saw Janemba flying toward him. His body immediately turned into a mass of sticky pink goo, which lunged at Janemba as he drew near.

"Gurgle, gurgle."

"Holy crap," Sun Xiaotian said, momentarily stunned. "Buu, you're really not picky, are you? You see someone and immediately want to absorb him."

The pink goo squirmed and gradually took human shape. It still had the small antenna on top of its head, but now it also had Janemba's sword-shaped helmet on either side. Its body seemed to be clad in dark pink armor, and a deep pink tail swished behind it. It kept chuckling wickedly, "Heh, heh," in a voice that blended Janemba's and Buu's, just like Gogeta's voice in the original story, after Son Goku and Vegeta fused.

"WTF, this got out of hand." Sun Xiaotian watched Janembuu with a grave expression. He could feel that Janembuu's strength had increased tremendously. Their combined power was far more than the sum of its parts. Both of them had been born from pure evil, and after fusing, their power had even reached the Super Saiyan 4 level. Damn it, damn it!

"How can this be? Buu's power has already caught up to Goten's," Trunks said in terror, sweat covering his forehead.

The grim look on Sun Xiaotian's face soon gave way to fighting spirit. Janembuu had awakened the Saiyan love of battle in him. Having an opponent with comparable strength wasn't so bad. He wasn't the weak, helpless Sun Xiaotian he used to be. Now he was the strongest Super Saiyan 4—Sun Xiaotian.
