There Are No Useless Spells in the World

It wasn't just Ron. Over the past two days, every wizard who hadn't chosen Ancient Magic Class could not help regretting it when they saw the textbook. The teaching material alone was already so extraordinary; one could only imagine how exciting the course content would be.

Just as Allen had originally envisioned, with such a luxurious, convenient, private textbook that could also store one spell, the wizards were willing to wear the book on them no matter what class they attended—and when they came to the Ancient Magic classroom for the second time and received the equipment Allen had tailored for them, not one of them failed to feel glad they hadn't been influenced by those conservative remarks and given up the course.

Seamus Finnigan was the first to take out the wand placed at the very top of the box and examine it carefully. The runes carved into the metal shaft made the wand look more powerful and mysterious than a traditional wooden wand. Most distinctive of all, a thin but extremely sturdy metal chain had been added to the end of the wand. "Ollivander released a small number of metal wands the summer before last, but they were more expensive than wooden ones. My mum wouldn't buy me one..."

"Even if you get hit by someone's Expelliarmus, you can retrieve your wand quickly." Michael Corner put on the bracer that went with the wand. In the middle of the bracer was a groove designed to hold the wand, and at the end of the groove a chain had been added to connect to the thin metal chain on the wand. "You can't add things like this to an ordinary wooden wand. Considering the value of the raw materials too, there's a reason it costs more."
