Background

The Uchiha were historically identified with Fire Style and the Sharingan, standing alongside the Senju as one of the foremost clans of the Warring States era. The Uchiha and Senju jointly founded Konoha, though their old rivalry and ideological conflict continued to shape the clan’s relationship with the village. 31 93 107

By the beginning of the story, the Uchiha have been reduced largely to Konoha’s police force despite their reputation as an ancient and powerful clan. Ruohuo regards this position—and Fugaku’s leadership—as inadequate protection against the clan’s future destruction, and binds his growth system to the Uchiha with the explicit aim of strengthening the clan and preventing its massacre. 2 31

The clan enters open crisis when Danzō is suspected of possessing stolen Sharingan. Fugaku mobilizes the Uchiha, while the clan suppresses Root operatives attempting to free Danzō through genjutsu. The incident reinforces the Sharingan as the clan’s absolute taboo: outsiders who steal Uchiha eyes may be hunted without restriction until the eyes are returned. 64 66

Leadership and Reorganization

Ruohuo defeats Fugaku’s representative in the succession struggle, displays his Mangekyō Sharingan and a red-armored half-body Susanoo, and receives the clan’s pledge of loyalty. Fugaku subsequently transfers the clan-head seal and an ancient clan sword to him. 130 132

Under Ruohuo, the clan pursues a five-year development plan intended to make it the ninja world’s foremost super-clan.
