"Why does every name have 'banana' in it?" Dan Heng asked, looking up.
"Because besides Sleepy Banana Monkey, none of the other characters matter, banana," Harmonious Banana Teacher replied.
"Next, we'll assign the roles."
"First, the lead: Brave Monkey..."
Harmonious Banana Teacher's gaze fell on Ranpa.
"Teacher, I—I'd like to try again!" Basho Flower-chan raised her hand nervously beside Ranpa.
"Ah... Everyone saw your performance just now. It wasn't good."
"That's all right." Mr. Rick dragged over a chair, settled comfortably beside the podium, and smiled. "Let this eager actor try the role again. Brave Monkey is an eager character too."
"Well... For Mr. Rick's sake, we'll leave it at that for now."
Harmonious Banana Teacher turned to Dan Heng.
"Next is Sage Monkey, who guides the hero."
"I think you're a perfect fit for the role, banana."
"As you wish." Dan Heng tossed aside The Script.
Harmonious Banana Teacher: "..."
"Next is the villain, Pressure Demon King."
Harmonious Banana Teacher looked around the room, apparently unable to find a suitable actor.
"Doesn't that leave only Miss Ranpa?" Basho Flower-chan called out.
"Let her play the part."
"Then who'll be the Narrator?" Harmonious Banana Teacher asked.
"I was going to have her read the narration, banana."
"How could a ninja hero be reduced to reading narration?" Ranpa sounded reluctant.
"I'll do it!" A chubby student stepped forward and volunteered.
"I can read the narration. I'm great with lines—I'm sure everyone will be pleased!"
Harmonious Banana Teacher nodded.
"All right. The cast is settled. Take five minutes to familiarize yourselves with your lines, banana."
After handing the chubby student a copy of The Script, Harmonious Banana Teacher fell silent, and so did the classroom.
As far as the other students were concerned, they could earn their points just by sitting safely
