"Boom—shhh-shhh-shhh—!!"
A fierce burst of flames erupted before Yan Huan.
Even Kafka and Silver Wolf, both Stellaron Hunters, wore grim expressions.
The two of them pulled out all the stops, unleashing a dazzling array of attacks at the monsters in a frantic barrage.
For a moment, the entire Containment Section, inside and out, was filled with the incomprehensible roars of the Voidrangers.
"This is quite the thrill," Yan Huan thought to himself.
He was the most relaxed of the bunch, lounging back against the wall, and had somehow produced a bucket of popcorn, munching away leisurely.
As he ate, he wondered.
"Why are there so many monsters? When I played the game, I don't remember this many."
Yan Huan was utterly baffled.
He hadn't played for long before crossing over, but he still remembered the beginner storyline.
He had no memory of facing a million-strong army right from the start.
Could it be because of the Stellaron?
"No way."
He recalled that just earlier, Kafka had spent a good long while shoving the Stellaron in.
Only after it was inserted did the system awaken.
Maybe it really was tied to the Stellaron.
After all, he'd cheated the system, so it wasn't surprising that the Antimatter Legion would call in reinforcements to nip him in the bud.
Poor Kafka and Silver Wolf, though.
Time flowed like water in a toilet bowl.
Once you pressed the button.
It came fast and went just as fast.
The two beauties fought for seven hours straight without a break, leaving the entire Containment Section battered and broken.
Yan Huan kindly gathered some snack wrappers and held them up toward the two women locked in battle ahead.
"Are you two thirsty? Want some water? Hungry? Want some popcorn? Do you—"
"Shut up!" Silver Wolf snapped, her fingers flying across the holographic screen before her, summoning laser cannons around her that blasted the endless waves of Voidrangers to bits.
Then she suddenly turned her head to look at Yan Huan. "Wait, where did you get all that food?"
From Silver Wolf's perspective, Yan Huan was surrounded by a small mountain of snacks, chewing on something in his mouth.
"Oh, from your space. You forgot to close it earlier, and I was hungry, so I grabbed some."
Yan Huan shrugged nonchalantly, tearing open another chocolate bar and eating it without a care.
Silver Wolf: "Is that yours to eat? Those are my snacks! Stop eating them!"
Yan Huan frowned. "I just woke up not long ago, and I'm starving. Besides, what else can I do besides eat snacks?"
Silver Wolf: "Can't you lend a hand? Do you not realize we're fighting for you?! And you're just eating snacks?!"
Who was the Stellaron Hunter here, anyway?
Just then, Kafka, who had been weaving through the side slashing at enemies, glanced over.
Her voice was still languid, as if the Antimatter Legion wasn't putting much pressure on her.
"Yan Huan, there's an iron rod next to you. Pick it up and help out."
Following Kafka's reminder, Yan Huan looked at the metal rod in the corner, silent for a moment.
Then he replied.
"Can't do it. It's too ugly. Fighting with that doesn't suit my status."
A second after he said that, a pale blue laser beam shot over.
"Boom—!!"
The floor two inches in front of Yan Huan's crotch was scorched to charcoal by the laser.
Then came Silver Wolf's cursing.
"You're something else, huh? Doesn't suit your status? What, are you a prince from some planet?"
Staring at the charred metal floor two inches from his crotch, Yan Huan quickly scooted backward, his tone suddenly much more humble.
"Haha, look at you, that's not what I meant." Yan Huan grinned, rubbing his hands together. "I meant I'm too weak to be of much help. If I did jump in, I'd just get in the way and mess up your DPS!"
But in his mind, Yan Huan had already written Silver Wolf's name down in his little black book.
When you're under someone else's roof, you have to bow your head.
But if the opportunity ever arose, he would make sure that woman tasted her own medicine.
"That's more like it~" Silver Wolf seemed satisfied.
The chaotic scene outside the Containment Section unfolded before the eyes of everyone on the Herta Space Station.
March 7th, who was heading there to assist, was stunned.
She stared blankly at the dense mass of Voidrangers outside, surging forward relentlessly toward the Containment Section.
Those unable to squeeze in waited for the ones ahead to fall, then took their place.
"Are they lining up?" March 7th's voice rang out like silver bells.
Dan Heng stood nearby, frowning. "It seems there's something inside the Containment Section drawing them in."
"Wait..."
In Dan Heng's line of sight, he seemed to witness something unbelievable.
Defending the Containment Section were two Stellaron Hunters.
Kafka and Silver Wolf.
Impossible.
No matter how much Dan Heng had been through, he was baffled now.
Why were Stellaron Hunters protecting the Herta Space Station?
Their figures easily wove through the Voidrangers—clearly, they weren't blocked from retreating; they were genuinely guarding something.
What could be so important that Stellaron Hunters would go this far?
"Hey, Dan Heng, what are you staring at?!" March 7th slapped his shoulder, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Dan Heng took a deep breath and pointed at the two figures near the Containment Section.
"Those are the Stellaron Hunters Kafka and Silver Wolf. They seem to be helping clear out the Voidrangers."
At the mention of Stellaron Hunters, March 7th perked up.
"Huh?"
Stellaron Hunters?
Aren't they a bunch of troublemakers? Since when did they start helping out?
"Really?!" March 7th stared at the two figures in surprise. "Could it be... they're actually good guys?"
Dan Heng shook his head and spoke gravely.
"Maybe we'll be on the same side someday, but for now... it's hard to say."
Perhaps the battle in the Containment Section was too intense.
Some Voidrangers from other sections noticed and followed the crowd, joining the long queue heading to the Containment Section.
A bizarre sight emerged.
The lines stretched long, from every entrance of the Containment Section all the way into outer space.
The sheer mass of Voidrangers rivaled the size of the entire Herta Space Station.
In the corridor, March 7th playfully asked Dan Heng for his opinion.
"So, are we going to help the Stellaron Hunters now? Looks like that's where the fighting's hottest across the whole station."
After a moment's thought, Dan Heng shook his head.
"No need. As many Voidrangers as there are, they're Stellaron Hunters—they can handle it."
Gripping his spear, Dan Heng slowly turned and walked in the opposite direction.
"What matters now is rescuing more researchers. They're all Ordinary People—we have to move fast."
March 7th nodded blankly.
"Oh, okay."
With light Footsteps, she followed Dan Heng.
She didn't know who Kafka and Silver Wolf were protecting, but at least they didn't need to worry about the Containment Section.
Far away in the Containment Section, Silver Wolf kept an eye on her surroundings.
The figures of March 7th and Dan Heng didn't escape her notice.
"Ah, those people from the Star Rail Express just left." Silver Wolf sounded displeased.
If they'd come over, she could've dumped Yan Huan on them and slipped away with Kafka.
What was the point of leaving?
Meanwhile, deep inside the Containment Section.
Yan Huan sat on the ground, silently counting the time he'd been slacking off, while mulling over his next plan.
After thinking for a while, he seemed to have made up his mind.
"Mm? Why is he standing up?"
Under the watchful eyes of Kafka and Silver Wolf, Yan Huan unexpectedly rose to his feet, a glint of determination flashing in his eyes.
Has his conscience finally caught up with him? Silver Wolf speculated.
Then, Yan Huan fixed them with a piercing gaze, his voice low yet carrying a resounding weight:
"Where's the restroom? Did either of you bring any tissue?"
