Yan Qing, their dining guide, led the four of them around, lining up to buy all kinds of snacks.

"Aren't those for children?"
"Besides, they're mostly hawthorns. How would they fill anyone up?"

"What's it to you?" Yunli narrowed her eyes.
"Anyway, I want candied hawthorns. Until I find some, I'm not eating anything else."
"But we've already walked the whole street. There really isn't anything you want here."

"Why don't I buy you some more? Could you make do with those?"
"No." Yunli lifted her chin and huffed.
"Breakfast is breakfast. A treat is a treat."
"Everyone else got something they like. I want candied hawthorns."
"Exactly," March 7th chimed in.
"I'm starting to want some too. Let's keep looking."
