Senzu Beans

A golden cloud came speeding over and caught Karin as he fell.

"Whew..." Karin let out a long sigh of relief and wiped the cold sweat from his face.

But the very next moment, Karin's eyes widened several times over. He realized that the little monster was hovering in midair, silently studying him.

"You... what do you want?" Karin asked warily.

"I told you. Hand over the Senzu Beans, and I can spare your life," Vegeta said coldly.

"I really don't have any, meow." Karin gritted his teeth, stubbornly refusing to reveal where the Senzu Beans were.

"Hmph, you're asking for death!" Vegeta swept one hand through the air.

Bang!

The Flying Nimbus carrying Karin instantly dispersed, scattering in every direction.

Karin glanced down, his scalp prickling with terror as he plunged toward the ground.

"Help! Help, meow!" Karin cried out, his voice filled with despair.

Yet just as Karin was about to hit the ground, someone caught him.

Karin gasped for breath, nearly passing out.

"All right, I'll give you one last chance. Where are the Senzu Beans?" Vegeta asked coldly.

With that, Vegeta hauled Karin into the air and soared straight into the clouds.

Naturally, Vegeta had been the one to catch Karin. Cold as he was, he wasn't about to kill the old cat himself. He was just a little bored and wanted to toy with him.

"I'll tell you! I'll tell you, meow..." Karin was so terrified that his very insides trembled. He even regretted living so high up. That fucking plunge had felt awful.

"Hmph. If you were going to give in anyway, why put up such stubborn resistance?" Vegeta casually tossed the old cat into Karin Tower.

"It's not that I won't give you the Senzu Beans. They just haven't ripened yet, meow..." After saying this, Karin turned and pushed open a small door, then led Vegeta into the room.

Vegeta's heart sank. They haven't ripened yet?

Fuck, that's not good news!

"Look, meow. These are the Senzu Beans, but they haven't ripened yet, meow." Karin pointed at a green plant and explained it to Vegeta.

Vegeta took a closer look and saw little beans forming on a plant that resembled lucky bamboo. From their appearance, they really did seem to be those miraculous Senzu Beans.

And just as Karin had said, the beans weren't fully ripe yet, so they wouldn't be much use right now.

"When will they ripen?" Vegeta asked.

"At least another ten years or so. That's only a rough estimate, meow," Karin explained.

"Why does it take so long?" Vegeta grew impatient. He was still waiting to use the Senzu Beans to increase his power level.

"Senzu Beans need icy volcanic water to grow. My abilities are limited, so I can only bring back a little each time. If you really want them to ripen sooner, go inside the Sky-Reaching Volcano in the south and bring back plenty of icy water. Then they might ripen before long, meow," Karin said earnestly. Inwardly, however, he kept sneering. You little brat. Think this old cat can't deal with a little monster like you, meow?

"You're trying to lure me into that Sky-Reaching Volcano so it can swallow me up, aren't you?" Vegeta asked with a cold sneer.

"I wouldn't dare! I wouldn't dare, meow..." Karin hurriedly denied it.

"All right. When I have time, I'll go get some icy water myself." Vegeta wasn't all that concerned about the Senzu Beans now. Before that, he had something important to do.

"Uh, uh, sure. Go right ahead." Karin nodded vigorously, wishing the little monster would hurry up and get lost.

"I'll go meet that old neighbor above your head first. Until next time!" With that, Vegeta rose into the air and flew away from Karin Tower.

At those words, Karin's eyes bulged. He was so shocked that he couldn't even speak.
