The golden cloud streaked over at high speed, catching Karin just as he was falling.
"Whew..." Karin let out a long sigh of relief, wiping the cold sweat from his face.
The next moment, however, Karin's pupils dilated in terror as he realized the little monster was hovering in mid-air, silently watching him.
"What... what do you want?" Karin asked, his face full of vigilance.
"I told you, hand over the Senzu Beans and I might spare your life," Vegeta said coldly.
"I really don't have any, meow," Karin gritted his teeth, refusing to reveal the location of the beans.
"Hmph, you have a death wish!" Vegeta waved a hand through the air.
"Bang!"
The Flying Nimbus carrying Karin instantly dissipated, scattering into nothingness.
Karin looked down, his scalp tingling in horror as he plummeted toward the ground.
"Help! Help, meow!" Karin shrieked, his voice filled with tragic desperation.
Yet, just as he was about to hit the ground, a hand reached out and grabbed him.
Karin gasped for air, nearly fainting from the shock.
"Alright, I'll give you one last chance. Where are the Senzu Beans?" Vegeta asked coldly.
With that, Vegeta hauled Karin into the air and soared toward the clouds.
It was undoubtedly Vegeta who had caught him; though cold-blooded, he had no intention of killing the old cat—he was simply bored and wanted to toy with him.
"I'll talk, I'll talk, meow..." Karin's insides were trembling with fear. He even regretted living in such a high place; the feeling of falling was truly unbearable.
"Hmph, if you knew it would come to this, why resist so stubbornly?" Vegeta tossed the old cat back onto Karin Tower.
"It's not that I won't give them to you, it's just that the Senzu Beans aren't ripe yet, meow..." After saying this, Karin turned to push open a small door and led Vegeta into the room.
Vegeta's heart sank. Not ripe yet?
Damn it, this was not good news!
"Look, meow, these are the Senzu Beans, but they haven't matured yet, meow," Karin explained, pointing to a green plant.
Vegeta squinted and saw small beans forming on a plant that looked like a lucky bamboo. By the looks of it, they really were the legendary Senzu Beans.
And just as Karin had said, the beans were not fully ripe and were of little use for now.
"When will they be ripe?" Vegeta asked.
"It will take at least another ten years, and that's just a rough estimate, meow," Karin explained.
"Why does it take so long?" Vegeta grew anxious; he was counting on the beans to boost his combat power.
"Senzu Beans need volcanic ice water to grow. My abilities are limited, and I can only retrieve a tiny bit at a time. If you really want them to ripen faster, just go to the Sky-Reaching Volcano in the south and bring back more ice water. Perhaps they'll be ready sooner, meow," Karin said with a serious face, though he was sneering inwardly: Little brat, I can certainly handle a monster like you, meow!
"Are you trying to lure me into that Sky-Reaching Volcano so I get swallowed by the lava?" Vegeta asked with a cold smirk.
"I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare, meow..." Karin quickly denied it.
Damn it, this is not good news!
"Take a look, meow. This is the Senzu Bean, but it hasn't ripened yet, meow." Karin pointed to a green plant and explained to Vegeta.
Vegeta focused his gaze and discovered that on a plant resembling a lucky bamboo, small beans were forming. By the looks of it, they really were those miraculous Senzu Beans.
Furthermore, just as Karin had said, the beans were not yet fully mature and were of little use at the moment.
"When will they be ripe?" Vegeta asked.
"It will take at least another ten years or so until they reach maturity; that's just a preliminary estimate, meow," Karin explained.
"Why does it take so long?" Vegeta grew anxious; he was waiting to use the Senzu Beans to boost his combat power.
"The growth of Senzu Beans requires volcanic ice water. My abilities are limited, and I can only bring back a tiny amount each time. If you really want the Senzu Beans to ripen faster, just go inside the Sky-Reaching Volcano in the south and bring back more ice water. Perhaps it won't take long for them to mature, meow," Karin said with a serious expression, though he sneered inwardly: Little brat, did you think I, this old cat, couldn't handle a little monster like you, meow!
"Are you trying to lure me into that Sky-Reaching Volcano so I get swallowed up by it?" Vegeta asked with a cold sneer.
"I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare, meow..." Karin hurriedly denied it.
"Fine, when I have the time, I'll go get some ice water myself." Vegeta wasn't too concerned about the Senzu Beans right now; he had another important matter to attend to first.
"Uh, uh, uh, you go ahead and be busy." Karin nodded vigorously, wishing for this little monster to get lost as soon as possible.
"I'm going to go meet your old neighbor above your head. Until we meet again!" After saying this, Vegeta soared into the air and flew away from Karin Tower.
Upon hearing this, Karin's eyes widened, and he was so shocked he couldn't even speak.
