"Not enough medical equipment?"
Lin Chen furrowed his brow.
After Hanasia left, Bardock finally explained why he had stayed behind.
According to him, all the Saiyans had started training with the new method Lin Chen had given them. But once they began, a few new problems arose.
The biggest one was that the supply of Healing Tanks on Planet Vegeta was running low.
The Saiyans had never developed technology themselves. Much of the planet's advanced equipment had been stolen from or traded for with other aliens.
Back when they served Frieza, he had given the Saiyans three Healing Tanks—the same kind of advanced equipment that had once treated Son Goku on Namek in the original story.
But they had only three of them, while the planet was home to thousands of Saiyans. It was obviously not enough.
The training method Lin Chen had given them was an improved program based on the training methods Goku and Vegeta had used in the original story. Its primary goal was to keep pushing the Saiyans beyond their physical limits.
Naturally, this kind of training made injuries common.
If they had enough Healing Tanks, it wouldn't have been much of a problem. But the Saiyans clearly didn't have enough, and many of them were falling behind in their training because they couldn't get timely treatment.
"I overlooked that..."
Lin Chen nodded, realizing there was a flaw in his plan.
Bardock hurried to reassure him. "You don't need to worry, Your Majesty. I can send people to find a civilization with Healing Tank technology right away. If that doesn't work, we can attack one of Frieza's planets and take some..."
Lin Chen shook his head. "No. We don't need just a few or a few dozen Healing Tanks. We need at least several hundred, maybe even a thousand or more... Leave this to me."
Bardock nodded. "All right."
Not long after parting ways with Bardock, Lin Chen appeared on Earth using Instant Transmission.
Hanasia, dressed in a Battle Suit, stood beside him with a Scouter over her eye.
As Lin Chen's new queen, Hanasia had been clinging to him nonstop. When she heard he was going to another planet, she insisted on coming along.
"Your Majesty, is this Earth? The gravity here is so low!"
"Yes, this is Earth..."
Lin Chen looked around at the surroundings, familiar yet somehow strange, and felt a wave of emotion.
This was his first visit to Earth since arriving in the Dragon Ball world.
Perhaps because he had been reborn as a Saiyan in this life, he no longer felt much of a connection to Earth.
But Earth was, after all, the center of the Dragon Ball story—and an indispensable part of his future plans for the Saiyan Empire.
The original story had made it clear that half-Saiyan, half-Earthling children were naturally stronger than pure-blooded Saiyans.
So Lin Chen had long planned to establish formal ties between the two planets at some point in the future.
He hadn't expected that the shortage of medical equipment would bring his trip to Earth forward.
In the original story, Saiyan Raditz had mocked Earth as a primitive planet. In reality, though, its civilization was far more advanced than the Saiyans could imagine.
It was also home to many brilliant inventors.
The man Lin Chen had come to find was Dr. Brief, the great inventor who lived in West City.
He was also the father of Bulma, the most important female character in the Dragon Ball world.
The Saiyans' urgent need for Healing Tanks rested entirely on him.
The next moment, Lin Chen and Hanasia took off toward West City.
Dr. Brief was not only a genius but also the founder of Capsule Corporation.
His status was much like Edison's in Lin Chen's old world. He was a world-famous scientist as well as an immensely wealthy businessman.
Thanks to that, Lin Chen had little trouble finding Dr. Brief's home after reaching West City.
It was the biggest building in the entire city, and the Capsule Corporation logo was displayed on its roof. It was easy to spot.
After landing, Lin Chen was about to knock when he suddenly heard crying coming from inside Dr. Brief's home.
"Don't be scared, Bulma! Don't be scared! Honey, keep an eye on Bulma for me!"
"All right, darling."
At that moment, inside Dr. Brief's home, Dr. Brief stood in front of his wife and daughter, arms outstretched to shield them.
Facing the three of them was an old man leaning on a cane, accompanied by three monsters who looked a lot like Saibamen.
Several Capsule Corporation security guards lay on the ground nearby.
The old man sneered. "All right, Dr. Brief. Just come with us quietly, and we won't hurt anyone. What's more, we'll return your other daughter to you as well!"
"Your other... Tights? You kidnapped Tights?" Dr. Brief exclaimed.
"That's right. Make your choice quickly! Dr. Wheelo is waiting for us!" The old man struck the ground with his cane.
But just then, a voice came from the side.
"Sorry, but Dr. Brief isn't going anywhere with you."
"Who?"
The old man turned and saw a man and a woman enter. He didn't recognize either of them, and they were wearing strange clothes that looked like armor.
"Darling, are they friends of yours?" Mrs. Brief asked in confusion.
"No, I don't know them!" Dr. Brief shook his head, just as bewildered.
What was going on today?
First, Dr. Wheelo's assistant, Dr. Kochin, who had been missing for years, suddenly showed up and said Dr. Wheelo wanted to see him. Now two strangers he had never seen before had appeared as well.
Behind Mrs. Brief, a little girl with twin ponytails peered out, gazing curiously at the two strangers.
The intruder was, of course, Lin Chen.
After quickly surveying the scene, Lin Chen had already figured out what was happening.
He also recognized the man who was trying to take Dr. Brief away.
If he remembered correctly, this man was Dr. Kochin, Dr. Wheelo's assistant in one of the Dragon Ball movies.
Dr. Wheelo was one of the three leading scientists in the human world of Dragon Ball, alongside Dr. Brief and Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army. He specialized in biotechnology.
In that movie, Dr. Wheelo tried to seize the body of the world's strongest man in order to revive himself, but Son Goku defeated him with a Spirit Bomb.
Lin Chen hadn't expected Dr. Wheelo's assistant, Dr. Kochin, to show up several years early—and in Dr. Brief's home, no less.
