Long before this, after Kast defeated Ginyu and wiped out the entire Ginyu Force, he had arrived at the palace on Planet Dor.
Following the King's invitation, Kast entered the palace and, through their conversation, came to understand the situation and learned of their anxieties.
To this, Kast told them not to worry, as he had come specifically for this reason.
This led to the scene where he spoke with Frieza.
The reason Kast had not destroyed the spaceship after eliminating Ginyu and his subordinates was precisely for this purpose.
After speaking with Frieza, Kast prepared to leave the planet.
Although the King expressed his hope that Kast would stay and teach them how to cultivate ki, Kast refused. However, he did leave behind a Fruit of the Tree of Might and instructed them on how to train their ki.
Once the King realized Kast's intentions for leaving, he stopped trying to persuade him to stay; after all, Kast was leaving to draw Frieza's attention.
In response, the King only hoped that Kast would visit often if he had the time in the future.
Come to think of it, there was a reason Kast had suddenly changed his mind and decided to seek out Frieza directly.
Originally, Kast had planned to wait until he could transform into a Super Saiyan before confronting Frieza, but as time passed and Ginyu appeared, his plans had to change.
Since plans could not keep up with changes, he had no choice but to take the initiative.
Kast had a feeling; he could clearly sense the barrier to transformation. He was only a hair's breadth away—just one opportunity—and he would transform into a powerful Super Saiyan.
Generally, there are two ways for a Saiyan to transform. The first is through intense rage! Only in a state of extreme grief and indignation can one convert emotional power into the most primal energy, triggering a qualitative change and becoming a Super Saiyan!
However, this method is considered a crooked path! It is an opportunistic shortcut, and transforming this way carries the risk of losing emotional control.
Although this method has its risks, it is relatively simple, but unfortunately, Kast had no way to use it.
After all, Kast had no reason to be angry; he had nothing worth feeling such rage over.
Without these inducing factors, transformation through rage was basically impossible.
Since he could not transform through rage, he had to switch to the other method: transformation through raw strength. If a Saiyan's strength reaches a certain level, there is a high probability they will transform automatically.
The baseline for this is between 3 million and 5 million; the stronger, the better.
Kast had already reached the stage for transformation, as he possessed a combat power of 5 million at this moment. Yet, even with such immense power, he remained stuck behind a barrier.
Some might think this was because his strength was not gained through his own cultivation but was caused by the Fruit of the Tree of Might. However, that was not the case. The Fruit of the Tree of Might can greatly increase a person's strength, but this boost has no side effects; it even nourishes the user's body, as the fruit is pure life energy and is harmless.
Since it was not because of the Tree of Might, what was the cause?
Kast actually had a few guesses regarding this.
Kast speculated whether the Saiyan bloodline had been under a special seal since ancient times, which resulted in the inability to transform.
After all, it is known from the original records that the strength of a Super Saiyan is that of a supreme powerhouse in the universe. Yet, the Saiyans of the present were far too weak, unable to even achieve the Super Saiyan transformation, treating it as a mere legend. Although they all called themselves a warrior race, they lacked the strength a warrior race should possess.
This was, in fact, quite contradictory.
To this, Kast felt there must be a special reason, namely that the bloodline had been sealed.
He remembered that in the original records, Son Goku had gone through several life-and-death battles on Namek. After being revived, his strength surged, and his base form likely reached a combat power of 3 million. Even then, it was only through the death of Krillin, driven by extreme rage, that he transformed into a Super Saiyan.
How difficult it was for Goku to transform back then! But later, his sons, Son Gohan and Son Goten, followed.
Son Gohan could be said to have undergone a period of arduous training; under the tutelage of Goku and Piccolo, he finally achieved the rage-induced transformation in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
But Son Goten was only seven years old. He had not undergone any real training—Chi-Chi's training could hardly be called training; it was just simple sparring. He couldn't even fly, and yet, without any trigger of rage, he transformed into a Super Saiyan.
And Son Goku's granddaughter, Pan, was born with the ability to fly and could circle the Earth at just a few years old.
This was hard to imagine.
Therefore, Kast could infer that it was likely the breakthroughs of Goku, followed by Vegeta and other Saiyans, that caused the bloodline seal to decay, gradually lowering the threshold for later Saiyans to transform and allowing their strength to grow.
Of course, there was another possibility: that the hybrid nature of Saiyans and humans helped in transforming into a Super Saiyan. Hybrid Saiyans inherently possess extremely high combat potential, and the hybridization caused the bloodline seal to weaken. Goten and Trunks were both cases of this, which is why they could transform into Super Saiyans at such a young age.
Pan was an even further hybrid of human and Saiyan, causing the seal to loosen even more, to the point where a mere child could possess incredible strength.
Thus, there was a reason Kast had been stuck at this bottleneck.
But now that he knew the reason, Kast was not prepared to sit and wait for death. His plan was simple: find Frieza and attempt to break through under the extreme pressure of a life-and-death battle to achieve the Super Saiyan transformation.
For this reason, Kast decided to stop keeping a low profile. The appearance of Ginyu had just given him the resolve he needed.
Kast hesitated no longer. He arrived at Ginyu's spaceship, contacted Frieza via long-range communication, and arranged a premeditated duel with him on Planet Vegeta.
