Reunion

Far away, at the edge of a sheer cliff with a towering waterfall, a girl with silvery-purple hair and a red coat over a pink shirt sat staring down below.

As familiar faces appeared one after another in her mind, tears began to streak the girl's cheeks.

"I knew I still couldn't forget!"

She lifted her head and looked around the planet. The familiar surroundings filled her with nostalgia.

The familiar outfit revealed her identity: the girl was Laila, the West Supreme Kai.

This was the Supreme Kai World. The planet she had stayed on before had even been modeled after it, in memory of the Supreme Kai World. As for why Laila had been unwilling to return, one reason was that she didn't want the place to bring back painful memories; another was that she had been wandering the universe, searching for a way to destroy Majin Buu.

As Laila reminisced, a moment later, a "Whoosh!" rang out in the distance.

A familiar figure appeared.

"I knew it! I knew it!"

The newcomers were the Supreme Kai and Kibito.

Looking at the familiar scene before him and the girl in the distance, the Supreme Kai's eyes brimmed with tears. Overcome with emotion, he said,

"I-it really is you, West Supreme Kai... Sister Laila."

Beside him, Kibito's eyes bulged and his mouth fell open as he listened to the Supreme Kai.

"W-West Supreme Kai! H-how is this possible? Didn't you die fighting Buu?!"

Hearing the Supreme Kai's voice, Laila turned to look at the newcomers in the distance.

"Shin."

Looking at the excited Supreme Kai, Laila's expression softened, and she spoke gently.

"It's been a long time, Shin."

"Sister Laila..."

Tears streamed down Supreme Kai Shin's face, and he stumbled toward Laila.

Laila stood and looked at Shin as he came to her side, her expression gentle.

"I'm back."

Though it was only four short words, they were the last straw for the Supreme Kai. Shin immediately burst into tears.

Time passed quickly. Some time had gone by since Shin and Laila reunited, and by now the two had caught up on each other's circumstances.

"So Sister Laila stayed away from the Supreme Kai World because she was searching for a way to defeat Majin Buu?"

After talking for a while, Supreme Kai Shin had learned some of what had happened and asked her.

"But that doesn't make sense."

Kibito Kai spoke up beside them, puzzled.

"If it was because of Buu, you still could've come to the Supreme Kai World. Surely you had time to at least notify the Supreme Kai?"

Hearing Kibito Kai's question, Supreme Kai Shin couldn't help feeling puzzled too.

Seeing their confusion, West Supreme Kai Laila continued,

"That was only one reason. Another was that you were still too weak, Shin. I didn't want to put you in danger."

As she spoke, Laila suddenly rolled her eyes and said irritably,

"That's what I thought, but I never expected you to risk your life and personally assassinate that evil wizard, Bibidi, over Majin Buu. Do you know how worried I was when I found out?!"

Laila looked exceptionally annoyed as she reached out and pinched Shin's cheek.

"Ah! Ow, ow... I'm sorry, Sister Laila."

With his cheek pinched, Shin grimaced and held up both hands, quickly pleading for mercy.

"Enough."

Laila let go of Shin's cheek and forgave him.

Kibito Kai then asked,

"So why did West Supreme Kai come back this time?"

Hearing Kibito Kai's question, Shin chimed in too.

"Could it be that Sister Laila has found a way to destroy Majin Buu?!"

At their hopeful expressions, Laila replied,

"No, not ye—"

But before she could finish, Shin's face fell with disappointment.

"So you haven't."

Kibito Kai saw Shin's disappointment and tried to comfort him.

"It's all right, Supreme Kai. Even if there isn't a way right now, that's fine. You've already killed Bibidi, after all. Without his spell, Majin Buu can't be revived. In a way, that means Buu has been dealt with."

Laila looked at the two of them speechlessly, then said helplessly,

"Hey, you two. Are you misunderstanding something?"

"Huh?"

Hearing Laila's question, Supreme Kai Shin and Kibito Kai looked at her, at a loss.

"Honestly..."

She sighed and explained,

"I hadn't even finished what I was saying! Think about it. If there really weren't a way, would I have come back to the Supreme Kai World?"

"Does that mean you've found a way to deal with Majin Buu, Sister Laila?!"

"Yes, West Supreme Kai! What is it?"

At Laila's answer, the two of them brightened and hurried to ask.

"Of course! The way is..."
