The Ginyu Force's Demise

In the pale green sky, five figures streaked past. The Ginyu Force was heading toward Vegeta and the others!

"Stop... Looks like we're in for some fun!" Vegeta sneered.

Everyone stopped and hovered in midair.

"Vegeta, do you know those power levels flying toward us?" Piccolo asked.

"Of course I do. They're the famous Ginyu Force of the Frieza Force. They say they have the fastest speed in the universe, strange supernatural abilities, and tremendous battle power. They're a team made up of all kinds of aliens," Vegeta explained.

"But they're so weak. How can they be called the strongest in the universe?" Goku asked, puzzled.

"That's because you're now countless times stronger than you used to be! Think about it: if I hadn't pushed you to improve this much, would you be confident you could beat them?" Vegeta said disdainfully.

Goku smiled awkwardly. "That's true... If you hadn't put me under so much pressure, I'd never have thought to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. I never imagined I could get this strong!"

"Hmph. This time, only that Captain Ginyu guy is stronger than Gohan and Krillin. The other four aren't much stronger than those two. Unless things get desperate, the three of us won't step in. Let them fight. Having great strength without any combat experience makes you little better than a useless fool!" Vegeta said coldly.

"Ah... Gohan and I are going in? Can we really beat them?" Krillin asked fearfully.

"Uncle Krillin, apart from that one, the others aren't very strong. I'm confident I can beat them. If you don't believe me, sense their power yourself!" Gohan said firmly in his young voice.

"Don't worry, Krillin. If you can't beat them, the three of us are still here!" Goku reassured him.

"Hmph. Don't expect us to help. You two have to deal with the four besides Ginyu yourselves! If you happen to die, that's your own fault!" Vegeta threatened.

"And you, Kakarot—if you try to interfere, I'll kill you first. Look at your son. He clearly has more potential than either of us, yet look at what you've raised him into!"

"Gohan's still little. He's not even six," Piccolo said, pained for his godson.

"Little? At his age, I could already wipe out the inhabitants of an entire planet by myself! And what about him? He's still a good little boy," Vegeta said. In truth, his own battle power hadn't even reached ten thousand when he was young, but he'd already lost all compassion. He said this to toughen Gohan up. After all, Scholar Gohan would later become the one great disappointment in the eyes of Dragon Ball fans.

Everyone was speechless. Who could compare themselves to a freak like you? And besides, Earth had been peaceful. What battles could Gohan possibly fight?

Whoosh! Whoosh! The Ginyu Force arrived while they were talking.

"Well, Vegeta, have you betrayed King Frieza? I warned King Frieza ages ago that you Saiyan monkeys couldn't be trusted. One day, you'd betray him!" Ginyu said with a laugh.

"Hmph. Ginyu, you're not fighting me. Let those two play with your men. You'd better not make a move, or I'm afraid I won't be able to stop myself from killing you," Vegeta said disdainfully.

"Arrogant... You have a mere eighteen thousand in battle power, Vegeta, and you think you can kill me? Who gave you that courage?" Ginyu snapped.

"Captain, we're just standing around anyway. Why not let us have some fun with them? It won't take long," Jeice said from the side.

"Fine. Decide among yourselves who's going. Finish it as quickly as possible, or if Lord Frieza gets angry, even I won't be able to protect you," Ginyu said, stepping aside.

The four of them played rock-paper-scissors.

Guldo won first and exclaimed excitedly, "Yeah! I won. None of you get to go out now!"

Then he arrogantly shouted at Vegeta and the others, "All of you, come at me!"

Vegeta said coldly, "Hmph. Don't get ahead of yourself. Get your Scouter ready and take a good look at their battle power."

Gohan and Krillin stepped forward. Their bodies erupted with surging power, and the resulting shock wave swept across the entire battlefield. Mountains crumbled, and the earth split apart! Guldo looked at the readings on his Scouter. His excitement gradually turned to terror. Even Krillin alone was far stronger than him!

Ginyu and the others stared at the Scouter readings, too stunned to react. Twenty thousand... fifty thousand...

"Recoome, you go in too. Guldo can't beat both of them alone. Looks like we underestimated their strength," Ginyu said.

"Captain, no way! Is the Scouter broken?" Jeice asked in alarm. His own battle power was only forty-five thousand!

"Hmph. What do you know? In this vast universe, there are plenty of races who can freely control their battle power. I encountered people like that early on, during my campaigns with King Frieza. I didn't expect them to be able to do it, too. Looks like we won't be able to finish them off quickly," Ginyu explained, glancing at Vegeta and the other two. His eyes shifted, as if some sinister plan was taking shape in his mind. A wicked grin crept across his face.

Vegeta watched Ginyu's expression and seemed to guess what he was thinking. He looked around and spotted a frog on a hillside behind them. A sly smile appeared on his face.

Recoome also headed onto the battlefield and called to Gohan, "Come on, let's play!"

Recoome released his power, his aura shaking the sky! His battle power was about sixty thousand. Gohan sensed that they were evenly matched, though Recoome was just a little stronger!

"Uncle Krillin, you take one and I'll take the other! Let's see who beats their opponent first!" As soon as he finished speaking, Gohan charged at Recoome.

Krillin sensed that the small guy across from him wasn't too strong either. Reassured, he rushed toward Guldo at high speed. His figure vanished instantly!

Guldo frantically looked around but couldn't see where Krillin had gone. He suddenly sucked in a deep breath and held it. He'd used his ability to stop time! The longer he held his breath, the longer he could stop time.

Krillin's fist was just a hair's breadth from Guldo's head. Guldo broke out in a cold sweat, held his breath, and ran far away! As he ran, he reached the limit of how long he could hold his breath. "I can't hold it any longer... Haa!" He gasped for air.

His ability wore off. Krillin's left hook struck empty air, and his momentum carried him two stumbling steps forward. He looked around in confusion. Where was Guldo? He sensed the ki behind him and felt Guldo there. How could that be? He'd moved behind him in an instant!

"Krillin! He can stop time. We saw you freeze in place while he slowly ran behind you!" Goku called out to warn him.

So that was it! Krillin steadied himself and slowly rose into the air. He brought his hands together at his waist and shouted, "Kamehameha!" A blue beam shot toward Guldo. Guldo hadn't caught his breath yet, so he had no choice but to hold it again. Time came to an abrupt halt! Krillin, who'd just fired the beam, vanished from the air again! Guldo suddenly sensed a killing intent and turned his head. Krillin was already behind him, his fist about to hit the back of his head! Guldo broke out in a cold sweat, every hair on his body standing on end. Terrified, he ran off in panic again, then let out his breath.

Once again, Krillin missed. Watching Guldo run away, he muttered, "Damn it, he got away again!"

Guldo realized this wasn't going to work. Krillin was too fast! Stopping time was just wasting his energy; it wasn't doing him any good. It seemed he had no choice but to use Body Bind! Before he could react, Krillin grinned and shouted, "Solar Flare!"

A blinding light seared Guldo's eyes, leaving him unable to see anything but white. He could only rely on his sense of hearing to use Body Bind in Krillin's direction. As his vision slowly returned, Krillin was already nearly upon him.

An uncanny power held Krillin's body fast, leaving him unable to move. He struggled with all his might. Guldo kept him pinned with one hand while using telekinesis with the other to control a nearby tree. "Hmph. This is my strongest special move—Body Bind!"

A thick tree trunk appeared, its branches and leaves falling away. Guldo shaped the top into a point, then swung his hand and sent it hurtling toward Krillin!

"Die, you bald freak!" Guldo roared.

Krillin was horrified. Damn it, he couldn't move. He was dead!

Suddenly, a yellow beam struck Guldo. He had no time to react before it vaporized his head. But the tree kept moving on its momentum, hurtling toward Krillin!

The tree was almost on him! Suddenly, Krillin's body relaxed. He could move again! He dodged the tree's charge at high speed. When it was over, he was drenched in cold sweat. If it had taken even a moment longer, he'd have died!

Turning to Gohan, he said, "Thanks, Gohan!"

"Hey, you brat! Are you looking down on me? You're fighting me and still taking time to kill Guldo. I'm getting angry!" Recoome said.

During their fight, neither of them had gained an advantage. Neither had gone all out. Seeing that Krillin was safe, Gohan said to Recoome, "Come on. Give it everything you've got. I'll beat you!"

Their fists and feet clashed, their mismatched bodies thudding against each other in midair! Suddenly, Recoome caught Gohan's powerful punch in his much larger hand and pulled him forward. Then he drove a heavy knee into Gohan's stomach! Recoome's powerful blow made Gohan spit blood. Recoome grabbed Gohan by the head with his other hand and taunted him. "Hey, hey, don't die on me. I'm not done having fun yet!" As he spoke, he punched Gohan in the stomach again and again. Gohan cried out in pain. "Aah..."

Recoome only grew more excited and hit him harder with every cry.

Piccolo, watching from the side, was about to lose control.

Goku calmly explained, "Don't worry, Piccolo. Gohan's ki hasn't dropped."

Worry clouded Piccolo's judgment. Hearing Goku's explanation eased his mind a little.

Suddenly, Gohan opened his eyes and fired a blast of energy at Recoome's head! The blow made Recoome squeeze his eyes shut. His grip loosened slightly, releasing Gohan. Gohan seized his chance and unleashed a flurry of punches into Recoome's stomach! Hit from both sides, Recoome staggered backward. The moment he opened his eyes, Gohan flew in and kicked him in the side of the face! Recoome went flying and hit the ground, unconscious.

Turning toward Ginyu and the others, Gohan said, "Take your friend and run! He can't fight anymore."

Vegeta's expression darkened. "That brat was careless again! And now he's showing fake mercy."

Ginyu grinned wickedly. "Look behind you before you start boasting!"

Gohan hurriedly turned around! Recoome had already gathered ki in his mouth and formed an energy blast. The moment Gohan turned, Recoome fired! Gohan stared at the incoming blast, shocked. "Damn it, I can't dodge!"

At that moment, Goku's figure slowly vanished. When he reappeared, he was carrying Gohan to safety! The blast streaked along its original path. A huge mountain in the distance vanished, seawater rushed in, and the planet shook!

"Hey, hey, we agreed this was one-on-one! Why does someone always have to interfere?" Recoome complained.

"Dad, Uncle Vegeta, Uncle Piccolo, I'm sorry I let you down," Gohan said sheepishly.

"Hmph. Did you feel how your kindness nearly got you killed?" Vegeta scolded him.

"Alright, enough playing. We've accomplished what we came for. Kakarot, it's your turn. Remember, don't fool around. They won't make you much stronger. Finish this quickly!" Vegeta said.

"Alright! I'm going in," Goku said, heading onto the battlefield.

"Hey, none of you are a match for me. You'd better go back instead of getting yourselves killed! I'm giving you a chance. If Vegeta fought, none of you would get away," Goku called to Ginyu and the others.

"Jeice, Burter, you two go in together! I estimate his battle power is between fifty and eighty thousand. The three of you together should still have a chance," Ginyu said.

"Yes, Captain Ginyu," Jeice and Burter replied.

The three of them surrounded Goku in a triangle and released their full power!

"You're still not listening. I guess I have no choice!" Goku said casually.

Burter and Jeice didn't waste words. One vanished and sped toward Goku, while the other formed an energy sphere in his palm and threw it. It flew toward Goku under Jeice's control, like Yamcha's Spirit Ball!

Recoome charged straight at Goku. All three attacked at once! Goku's eyes narrowed slightly. Moving faster than an ordinary person could see, he lunged forward and drove an elbow into Recoome. Recoome dropped to the ground, dead!

After knocking Recoome down, Goku turned slightly and dodged the energy blast Jeice had fired. It flew toward Burter's head. Burter's vaunted speed came to an abrupt halt. His head shrank down into his chest like a turtle's! The energy blast scraped past the edge of his armor. Burter stuck his head out and shouted in alarm, "Hey, Jeice! Are you trying to kill me?"

"Sorry! He was too fast, damn it!" With that, Jeice stopped using energy blasts and charged Goku, ready to fight hand-to-hand!

The two rushed Goku, one launching a high kick and the other swinging a punch. Goku blocked them with a raised hand and outstretched leg! He swept one leg around, then turned and released an invisible shock wave! Both of them went flying. The rocks behind them were smashed into a chaotic heap as their bodies crashed into them! Goku formed a blue energy sphere in one hand and fired it at Burter. Burter couldn't dodge and was knocked to the ground! Steam rose from his body. He was already dead. Seeing this, Jeice flew to Ginyu's side in terror, his will to fight gone!

Ginyu cursed, "You're all useless. I have to do everything myself! Jeice, go report what's happening to Lord Frieza. I'll hold him off."

Jeice turned and fled toward Frieza! In an instant, a beam struck him. Its terrifying speed left Jeice no chance to dodge. He was reduced to ashes!

Ginyu took a closer look. It was Vegeta!

Vegeta said mockingly, "A team should stay together. If you're going to die, then you can all die together!" His wicked laughter filled the battlefield. Everyone was startled by his attack. Had he returned to his evil ways? Krillin and Gohan wondered silently.

"Damn it. Now that they're all dead, I'll have to recruit new members and teach them the dance routine all over again!" Ginyu thought, unconcerned.

Maybe you were the only one who cared about that disgusting dance!

"Saiyan, I have a battle power of one hundred and twenty thousand. I estimate your highest is only ninety thousand," Ginyu said to Goku.

"Aw, I'm not sure what this battle power you're talking about is. Why don't you turn on that machine and check?" Goku said. Then he released one-fifth of his full power.

"Eighty thousand... ninety thousand... one hundred thousand... one hundred and fifty thousand..." Ginyu stared at the Saiyan before him, growing more and more terrified! Suddenly, there was a bang. The Scouter shattered under the pressure of Goku's power! It could no longer measure him, but Ginyu could still feel his ki rising.

Suddenly, Ginyu burst into laughter, his eyes fixed greedily on Goku. He was getting more and more excited. Such a powerful body will be mine!

Gohan and the others stared at Ginyu in confusion. They didn't understand why he was laughing. Didn't he realize how great the difference in their strength was?

Only Vegeta wore a sly smile! He turned and moved at high speed, then returned in an instant with a creature like a frog from Earth in his hand!

The others looked at Vegeta, puzzled. They had no idea what he was up to!

"Saiyan, you really are strong, but your body is going to be mine! Body Change!" A powerful, strange energy surged around Ginyu, pinning Goku in place! A yellow beam shot from his mouth toward Goku!

Goku was shocked. I let my guard down... What kind of weird technique is that?

At the critical moment, Vegeta forcefully threw the frog with one hand. Ginyu's Body Change succeeded, but the frog took his place! Goku turned and vanished, dodging the beam. He was drenched in cold sweat!

Ginyu's body hopped away like a frog!

The others looked at Vegeta in confusion, waiting for him to explain!

Vegeta explained, "He has a skill called Body Change. He can choose someone and switch souls with them! If he succeeds, you won't be yourself anymore!"

Goku was overcome by a lingering fear. He thought that if he'd ended up in such an ugly body, Chi-Chi would definitely have left him!

Luckily, Vegeta had stepped in at the right moment. Otherwise, it would've been over!

At the edge of the battlefield, a frog was sneaking away!

Ginyu cried to himself, How could this happen? How did Vegeta know? Even King Frieza doesn't know I can use this move! If Frieza ever found out, he'd probably have destroyed him already! Who wouldn't be afraid of having someone like that nearby? One moment of carelessness and your body wouldn't even be yours anymore!

But Vegeta was a Dragon Ball fan who knew the original story inside out. He'd been watching out for such a bizarre ability all along!

Vegeta coldly spotted Ginyu trying to sneak away and fired a blast of energy at him with one hand. Ginyu watched the energy sphere flying toward him, his heart sinking. He was reduced to ashes...

Everyone looked at Vegeta, baffled. "He was already like that... Was it really necessary to kill him?"

Vegeta defended himself. "Hmph. I told you, a team should stay together. If one of you dies, you all die together!"

Everyone was speechless!

Was that any way for a person to talk? He'd killed him and still had so many excuses!

Vegeta wasn't about to spare him. What if he ran into Bulma and she made another translator? Wouldn't that defeat the whole point?...

With the battle over, everyone flew toward Frieza again!
