Background / History

Frieza commanded a vast interstellar force and was responsible for destroying Planet Vegeta. He recognized Bardock as the Saiyan who resisted him during that destruction and later learned that Bardock's son was Son Goku. Vegeta openly abandoned Frieza's service after gaining enough power to seek revenge for his planet. 21 24 30

Seeking immortality, Frieza directed his fleet toward Namek to seize its Dragon Balls. His impatience led him to force a dangerous acceleration, killing a crew member who warned that the ship could fail under the strain. 19 20
