Future World
Thick smoke rose from the ground, and cracks appeared where the sea met the sky, spewing vast amounts of lava that swallowed the land and the ocean.
Not a bird flew over the thousand mountains, and not a human footprint remained on the ten thousand paths!
The once-prosperous West City was now a scarred, dilapidated ruin, waiting for a restoration that would never come. The few remaining humans wailed in despair, their eyes filled with a deathly pallor, devoid of any spark of life.
The evil Androids were still wreaking havoc elsewhere, treating destruction as a game and murder as a competition. They were evil to the core.
"Haha, 18, you're slow. I've killed fifteen, and you've only killed thirteen!" Android 17 laughed maniacally.
He tossed energy blasts at the city at will, turning the already ruined metropolis into a living hell!
"Damn it, this is boring. I'm done. Where the hell did Trunks run off to? I can't find him anywhere! These humans are just too weak," Android 18 said, ceasing her attack.
Lookout
Vegeta and Trunks were sparring in their Super Saiyan Grade 2 forms. Their immense physical power caused their muscles to bulge; Trunks, in particular, looked massive. He was already taller than Vegeta, and had Vegeta not wished to be 15 centimeters taller, he would have looked like a dwarf in this form.
Bang! Thud!
The sound of their fists colliding filled the entire space, the powerful shockwaves shattering the ice pillars that had formed in the night.
Not even the freezing night could dampen the heat of their battle!
Vegeta unleashed a massive energy barrage, forcing Trunks back into his base form and knocking him to the ground, unable to rise.
"Rest well for the day. Get ready to head out; the time is almost up," Vegeta said, glancing at the clock above the rest area.
"Yes, Father," Future Trunks replied respectfully.
Vegeta reverted to his base form, closed his eyes, and let his energy surge.
"Hah!"
With a roar, an energy beyond the second grade erupted from him—the limit of the Super Saiyan 1 state!
There were no bulging muscles; he looked just like he did in his initial form. But his energy had changed. If one looked closely, a faint streak of lightning seemed to flicker within the aura surrounding him.
It was the precursor to transforming into a Super Saiyan 2. After half a year of training, Vegeta had perfectly mastered this limit state on the very last day. When he first achieved it, it provided an 80-fold increase in combat power; now, it had reached a staggering 90-fold!
His combat power had risen to 14.4 billion!
One powerful battle was all it would take to break through to Super Saiyan 2.
He vaguely remembered from the plot that Super Saiyan 2 was twice as strong as the first, or 100 times his base power, while Super Saiyan 3 was four times that of the second, or 400 times his base. As for Super Saiyan 4, it wasn't official canon, so he would have to wait until he could transform to find out.
"Father, is this what you call the Super Saiyan 1 limit state? It's truly incredible," Future Trunks said, amazed.
After spending a year together, Future Trunks was no longer so intimidated by Vegeta, and a genuine bond of father and son had begun to form.
"That's right. We're out of time, or else you could do it too. This form takes the power of the second grade, controls it, and draws it back into the body, suppressing the muscle deformation while greatly increasing speed. It is the most suitable and strongest form of Super Saiyan 1. Once you return to the future, you must not stop training!" Vegeta said sternly.
"Yes, Father, I will remember that!" Future Trunks said solemnly.
After resting for a day, the two walked out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Mr. Popo looked at the now-stronger Vegeta with great satisfaction. He had not misjudged him.
"Trunks, you go back first. I will follow you to the future shortly," Vegeta said.
"Father, you're coming too? Mother will be so happy to see you," Future Trunks said excitedly.
Trunks flew off the Lookout, heading toward West City.
"Mr. Popo, Trunks told me that in the future, you disappeared along with the Lookout," Vegeta asked.
"I must have gone into hiding. Remember the location. With that strange Instant Transmission of yours, if you sense carefully, you should be able to find me," Mr. Popo explained.
"If I bring that timeline's person back, will the Grand Priest notice?" Vegeta asked again.
That was right; Vegeta intended to bring the future Bulma back. Since he could restore her to her original state, and she had lived such a sorrowful life, he couldn't just leave her in the future to waste away.
"When you bring her back, come to me first. I will erase her traces and create a suitable identity for her. Although he isn't paying attention to Earth right now, it's better to be safe than sorry," Mr. Popo said.
"Thank you, Mr. Popo," Vegeta said.
"Go..."
With that, he used Instant Transmission to return to the West City Estate.
At that moment, Bulma was cutting Future Trunks' hair. Over the past year, his hair had grown down to his shoulders, but it didn't diminish his handsomeness in the slightest.
Seeing Vegeta's scruffy, bearded face, Bulma looked at him with disdain. "Go take a bath and shave!"
"Tch, choosing your son over your husband? I thought you'd shave me yourself," Vegeta grumbled.
"How old are you? Still jealous of your son? Shameless... By the way, why hasn't your hair grown?" Bulma asked.
"Hmph, we pure-blooded Saiyans don't have our hairstyles change once we reach adulthood! I remember telling you that!" Vegeta snorted.
"Is that so? I must have forgotten. Doesn't matter, go take a bath! You stink," Bulma said, still looking at him with disgust.
Future Trunks watched the two of them, so intimate and close, and felt overjoyed. He wanted to return even more to see his own mother.
Vegeta shot Bulma a fierce look, as if to say, You'll get yours tonight...
After washing up, he came out to see Future Trunks, now with his hair cut, chatting with Bulma and telling her all about the things that had happened in the future.
Bulma's expression shifted constantly, cycling through surprise, sorrow, and worry.
"Alright, Trunks, get some sleep. I'm going to the future with you tomorrow," Vegeta interjected.
"Vegeta, you're going too? Can you take me along? I want to see how my future self is doing!" Bulma asked.
"I have other business to attend to this time, so you'd better stay behind. Don't worry, you'll have your chance to see it eventually..." Vegeta regretted the words the moment they left his mouth. It seemed he had let something slip.
"Oh, really, Vegeta? It seems you're hiding something from me. Come inside with me..." Bulma shouted.
Bulma immediately grabbed Vegeta by his tail and dragged him toward the bedroom. Caught off guard by the sudden ambush, Vegeta had no time to defend himself and was hauled away.
Watching his parents bicker, a happy smile tugged at the corners of Trunks' mouth. He never expected his father to be like this; it was completely different from what his mother had told him. Beyond his characteristic pride and the arrogance of a Saiyan Prince, there was such a gentle side to him.
Inside the bedroom, before Bulma could even begin her interrogation, Vegeta surged forward. The two of them launched into another great battle.
They traded blows with relentless intensity, evenly matched and pushing each other to the limit, leaving no room for mercy in the ensuing storm. Throughout the struggle, Bulma fought back with all her might, yet she was still pinned down by Vegeta.
Afterward, Vegeta had lost billions of elite troops, while Bulma lay drenched in sweat, completely drained of strength.
Even with her enhanced Elf bloodline and stronger body, she still couldn't defeat a freak like Vegeta.
"So tired... I'm exhausted. You really are a pervert," Bulma said, her voice weak and limp.
"That's for not giving me any face in front of our son. Well? Do you surrender now? Heh heh!" Vegeta smirked.
"Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. You've got some wicked ideas about my future self again, don't you?" Bulma said.
"You figured it out again?" Vegeta asked, curious.
He had only let a hint slip a moment ago, yet Bulma had already put it together.
"Hmph. I know you better than that. Go ahead, bring her back. She's had it too rough. Do you really think I'd be jealous of myself? Besides, I need someone to help me team up against you; otherwise, I really can't beat you, and Gulnara isn't around that often!" Bulma huffed.
Looking at this understanding woman before him, Vegeta felt his affection deepen. He held her tightly, but Bulma had already drifted off to sleep, exhausted...
