In a battlefield of jagged rocks, a great battle erupted.
Piccolo said to Gohan, "Control your ki. Don't let his pressure overwhelm you."
The group swarmed forward. Tien Shinhan threw a punch at Nappa, but Nappa sneered and tilted his body slightly. Tien Shinhan missed! Nappa used his left hand to seize Tien Shinhan's outstretched arm, then slammed his right fist into his abdomen. Bang! Everyone watched in horror as Tien Shinhan's body was sent flying dozens of meters away, his arm still gripped in Nappa's hand. It was terrifying. With just one move, he had crippled Tien Shinhan's arm! The group looked at Nappa with dread.
Chiaotzu screamed in panic, "Tien Shinhan! Are you alright?" He flew toward him as he shouted. Tien Shinhan lay on the ground, trembling slightly. Thankfully, he wasn't dead, and the group breathed a sigh of relief. Chiaotzu wept as he helped Tien Shinhan up.
Tien Shinhan said in agony, "Everyone, be careful! The opponent is far too strong. I didn't even have a chance to resist before he tore my arm off!"
Immediately after, Piccolo and Krillin charged at Nappa, but Gohan was so paralyzed by fear that he couldn't even move, standing there blankly.
Piccolo roared, "Take this!" He unleashed a Masenko at Nappa. Nappa raised his palm and caught the blast effortlessly, not feeling a shred of pain. Krillin, positioned in the rear, fired his signature technique, the Destructo Disc. Nappa, however, didn't take it seriously and intended to block the attack with his bare body.
"You fool, Nappa! Dodge!" Vegeta shouted.
Hearing Vegeta's voice, Nappa felt a sudden flash of danger and leaped into the air. The sharp Destructo Disc sliced through the mountain behind him, leaving behind a smooth, mirror-like cut. If that attack had hit him, his fate would have been far worse than the mountain's! After all, even Saiyans were flesh-and-blood aliens. As this realization hit him, cold sweat poured down Nappa's forehead.
"Damn it, you little bald brat. I'm going to make you my priority now," Nappa snarled.
"Baka, you idiot Nappa! If you keep underestimating them, your end won't be any better than that Saibaman's," Vegeta said, looking at the incompetent oaf.
"I understand, Vegeta. It won't happen again, I promise," Nappa stammered. Thinking of how cruel Vegeta was to the Saibaman, he secretly resolved to put on a brilliant performance, or else...
"Gohan, Krillin and I will attack him in a moment. You find the right opportunity and land a fatal blow with everything you've got," Piccolo whispered to Gohan.
He turned to look at Gohan, only to find that the boy hadn't recovered from his earlier terror.
Frustrated, he shouted, "Son Gohan, what are you doing? Did you hear me?"
Gohan slowly snapped out of it and stuttered, "I... I understand... Uncle Piccolo!" Seeing the five-year-old child before him, Piccolo suddenly realized he couldn't rely on him. He said coldly, "Get out of here! You aren't fit to stand here and fight alongside me. Go back to your mother's arms and enjoy your pathetic life!"
Hearing this, tears welled up in Gohan's eyes. Thinking of his father killed by the Saiyans, and of Yamcha and Tien Shinhan, he declared firmly, "I won't! Uncle Piccolo, I can fight!"
"Suit yourself," Piccolo said impatiently.
Before the words had faded, Nappa flew toward him. Piccolo engaged Nappa in a fierce exchange, trading blows and kicks. Although he could barely keep up with the speed, every clash against the opponent's steel-like body left him reeling from the heavy impacts. Piccolo began to lose ground. Suddenly, Krillin placed his hands to his forehead, fingers spread, and shouted, "Solar Flare!" Seeing Krillin's stance, Piccolo closed his eyes and yelled at Gohan, "Now, Gohan!" But he hadn't expected that Son Gohan's resolve would be shattered again by Nappa's terrifying power, leaving him frozen in place.
However, Tien Shinhan, still in the air, aimed a single hand at Nappa and shouted, "Final Tri-Beam!" A square pillar of light shot toward Nappa. Nappa was driven into the ground by the beam, creating a massive, bottomless crater.
Blinded by the intense glare, Nappa struggled to open his eyes. "Damn it, using these cheap tricks!" He was driven deep into the earth, his upper-body armor shattered.
As the light faded, Krillin panted, "We did it! Nice work, Tien Shinhan!" As he spoke, he saw Tien Shinhan falling limply, and Krillin rushed to catch him.
Piccolo looked at Gohan with cold eyes, saying nothing, but Gohan could feel his uncle's disappointment.
"I... I'm sorry, Uncle Piccolo," Gohan said, aggrieved.
"Relax, relax. Gohan is still just a child, don't put so much pressure on him! He's only five! We're here, aren't we?" Krillin said to Piccolo.
Nappa slowly rose into the air. Taking advantage of the group's lowered guard, he fired a blast from his mouth at Tien Shinhan. Tien Shinhan was too weak to dodge and could only watch the energy wave fly toward him. After the roar of the explosion, Tien Shinhan's heartbeat was gone.
"Tien Shinhan..." Krillin screamed in horror. It was his fault; he knew Tien Shinhan was too weak to fight, yet he had just set him down and left him there.
"Nappa, watch your back!" Vegeta shouted. Chiaotzu had latched onto Nappa's back, his small body clinging to the giant. He looked at the others and said, "Goodbye, everyone. Tien Shinhan, wait for me. We'll be together forever." His body began to glow, and the sound of the explosion filled the ears of the remaining three. Chiaotzu was dead, having self-destructed, leaving not even a corpse behind. He could never be revived again.
Krillin cried out in agony, "Chiaotzu..."
In such a short time, three of them had died. Despair filled their hearts. Goku, where are you? When will you finally return?
Looking into the air, the muscular, shirtless figure of Nappa emerged. Even after Chiaotzu's self-destruction, he hadn't been killed! Taking advantage of their shock, Nappa rushed at high speed toward Krillin and kicked him in the neck. Krillin collapsed instantly; he wasn't dead, but he was close. Only a faint breath remained.
"Damn it! Son Goku, haven't you returned yet? If you don't come back soon, I won't be able to hold on!" Piccolo gritted his teeth.
Nappa looked at Piccolo and said, "Namekian, get back. Vegeta won't let me kill you. That half-breed is my final amusement!"
Piccolo looked at Gohan, whom he had trained, and said, "Gohan, run! Run to the Lookout. That is the first place your father will return to. If I survive, I might continue to train you!" Piccolo's eyes were filled with the resolve of the dead. Gohan picked up Krillin and flew toward the Lookout.
Nappa rushed to stop them, but Piccolo blocked his path.
"Your opponent is me!" Piccolo shouted.
Nappa laughed evilly. "Haha! Vegeta said I couldn't kill you, but he didn't say I couldn't cripple you! Hey, Vegeta, you don't mind if I leave him a cripple, do you?"
Vegeta said coldly, "Do as you please, but he must not die."
"Understood, Vegeta," Nappa said.
Piccolo was exhausted by now, barely able to maintain his flight. Nappa fired a casual energy blast, and Piccolo's right arm vanished.
"That's enough, Nappa. Stop! His ki is almost gone. If he dies, you die too," Vegeta said coldly.
Nappa descended slowly and sat beside Vegeta.
In the Other World, a figure appeared instantly.
"Goku, you've finally arrived. Hurry, give me your hand, I'll take you back to Earth," Kami said.
Goku didn't have time to think; he reached out and grasped Kami's hand, and the two figures slowly vanished.
At the Lookout, "Thank you, Kami. I'm going to find them right now!" With that, he leaped off the Lookout. As he descended to Korin Tower, Korin was waiting by the railing. He tossed something, and Goku caught it—three Senzu Beans.
Korin said, "Goku, these are the last three. I hope they're enough."
Goku didn't have time to respond. After running along Snake Way for so long, his body was utterly exhausted. He immediately swallowed a Senzu Bean. His body swelled slightly, and with a pop, a sense of power flooded his entire being. He had recovered to his peak state, and his strength had even increased slightly. Sensing their ki, he flew toward the battlefield...
