"Cough, cough... no need..." Vados wiped away her sweat.
What would I even do with your successor?
What I had my eye on was Vegeta's canned yellow peaches.
Now, those canned yellow peaches are gone for good...
I was even looking forward to enjoying those canned yellow peaches once I brought Vegeta back.
It seems my canned yellow peaches have just flown away.
Since Lord Rumsshi destroyed Vegeta... it's likely that Vegeta's storage ring was completely obliterated as well.
"Forget it..." Vados let out a helpless sigh, "Perhaps this is just his fate... it's just a pity he was only five years old..."
"I have already admonished Lord Rumsshi; why bother arguing with a child?" Cus nodded.
"Very well, since things have come to this, there is no use in saying more." Vados felt a little dejected.
"I am truly sorry, Vados." Cus apologized once more.
"It is alright, Sister Cus. I believe this is not something you wanted to see happen either," Vados said.
"Are you sure you don't want me to find another suitable successor for Lord Champa?" Cus asked.
"No need, Lord Champa and I will search for one ourselves in Universe 6," Vados replied.
Besides, Vegeta wasn't even from our Universe 6 to begin with.
However, Vados had no intention of saying that out loud.
There was no point in mentioning such things now.
The person had already been destroyed by Rumsshi...
Does it even matter which universe he belonged to at this point?
Indeed, it no longer matters.
It's just a pity for that little guy, Vegeta.
He promised that when he grew up, he would come to marry me...
Your dream has been shattered along with you, hasn't it...
"Then that will be all; I should return to Universe 6 now," Vados said.
"I am truly sorry, Vados." Cus apologized again.
"I also owe you an apology, Vados," Rumsshi came over and apologized obediently as well, "I truly had no idea that brat was so important to you."
"It is alright, Sister Cus, Lord Rumsshi... perhaps this was simply his destiny." Vados did not harbor any suspicions.
How could Vados have guessed that the person she had finally taken a liking to had been snatched away by someone from Universe 10 all because of a can of yellow peaches, a plate of fries, and a cup of milk tea?
"I will find an opportunity to visit and apologize in person," Rumsshi said.
"Lord Rumsshi is too kind." Vados nodded slightly, said nothing more, waved goodbye to Cus, and ended the call.
Vados let out a sigh, her voice filled with endless helplessness.
That little guy, Vegeta... was he really just destroyed like that?
I fear even his soul has vanished along with him.
Of all the people you could have provoked, why did you have to provoke a God of Destruction?
My fault, it was my fault.
I don't think I ever told you about the Gods of Destruction.
Vados felt a tinge of sadness, which then transformed into a brilliant streak of light as she sped off toward Universe 6.
Since the person had been destroyed, there was nothing Vados could do.
If he had merely died, Vados could have found a way to resurrect Vegeta.
But with his soul gone, even Vados was powerless.
Universe 10.
After the call ended.
Cus and Rumsshi exchanged a smile.
"I suddenly find that lying is quite interesting, especially when it's deceiving Vados of Universe 6." Rumsshi wiggled his elephant trunk, laughing heartily.
"Oh my, oh my... if Vados finds out later, I imagine she'll hold a grudge for quite a while," Cus sighed.
"Our two universes rarely have any contact, so she shouldn't find out," Rumsshi chuckled, "I recall the last time you met her was about 1,000 years ago, wasn't it?"
"That is correct." Cus nodded.
"If you hadn't run into each other by chance in the World of Void this time, I doubt you would have met at all," Rumsshi said.
"Yes," Cus nodded.
"That kid named Vegeta, I reckon he'll be lucky to live another three or four hundred years," Rumsshi said with a laugh, "assuming he doesn't manage to become a God of Destruction."
"Lord Rumsshi is quite right," Cus smiled.
"See? That settles it," Rumsshi chuckled. "So there's no need for you to fret over it; just focus on the task at hand."
"Mm-hmm," Cus nodded.
"Hey, what are you two whispering about?" Vegeta walked over from a distance.
Vegeta had no idea what Cus and Rumsshi had been up to.
After all, Vegeta was not a god, merely an ordinary mortal.
"Oh my, oh my... I was just in contact with Vados, asking when she might be coming over," Cus sighed.
"What? Looking at that expression of yours, is she not coming after all?" Vegeta frowned and asked.
"It's not that she doesn't want to come, it's just that she has a lot on her plate right now, so she won't be making it for the time being," Cus lamented.
"So?" Vegeta asked.
Cus: "..."
You're asking me "so"?
I should be the one asking you that.
"So, what are your plans for the future?" Cus asked. "Are you going to keep waiting here? Or shall I send you back to Universe 6 for now?"
"That shameless woman, going back on her word like this," Vegeta said indignantly. "We had an agreement! I told her that once I grew up, I would marry her!"
Cus's ears pricked up instantly, her eyes widening in sheer disbelief.
Vados was going to marry this little brat?
Impossible. That was absolutely impossible.
It must be that Vados found the little guy cute and was just teasing him.
Rumsshi was also stunned.
Vados was going to marry this little squirt?
The kid must be blowing smoke.
"There's no other way, I'll have to contact her myself. I want to see what she's thinking. Even if she wants me to wait, she needs to give me a concrete timeline," Vegeta said, immediately pulling a communicator from his pocket.
Upon seeing the device Vegeta produced, Cus and Rumsshi panicked.
If that thing managed to transmit a signal, wouldn't their ruse be exposed on the spot?
The lie they had worked so hard to weave would be torn to shreds.
Rumsshi immediately looked at Cus.
Without a moment's hesitation, Cus flicked her staff, and a surge of invisible Angelic power flashed forth.
The Angelic energy swiftly enveloped Vegeta's communicator.
At that exact moment, Vegeta pressed the button on the device.
And then...
Nothing happened.
The communicator had been jammed by Cus's overwhelming Angelic power.
Consequently, the signal could not be transmitted at all.
Vegeta pressed the button again, calling out loudly for Vados.
Soon, Vegeta realized that the thing was completely useless.
"What's going on? Is this thing broken?" Vegeta asked Cus.
