What a troublesome adult!
These guys from the Sixth Legion actually thought they would become the gene-sons of Leman Russ and become Space Marines just like them!
Buddy! You guys are mistaken; my future lies with the Adeptus Custodes!
Leman Russ looked at Axis with a hint of amusement; he hadn't expected this kid to know how to avoid trouble.
"But didn't you tell me you were born into a warrior race? In that case, I will certainly make sure you get your fill of battle in the future."
The Space Marines of the Sixth Legion nodded and immediately followed the Wolf King's instructions, working together to move Axis's small eye-shaped spaceship into the transport craft.
Soon, the other tribal warriors boarded the transport craft arranged by the Emperor one after another, while the accompanying Adeptus Mechanicus personnel began a large-scale landing on the planet Fenris.
They were there to carry out modern mechanized construction, with their primary mission being the establishment of a large Space Marine monastery. In the future, this would serve as the base for the Sixth Legion, equipped with the means to independently modify Space Marines.
The landing craft soon soared into the firmament of Fenris, then slowly departed the surface to reach space.
After mastering the Flight Technique, Axis often flew, but being so young, he could only fly at an altitude of a few thousand meters and had never reached the heights of ten thousand meters.
As the transport craft gradually ascended, a snow-white planet revealed itself to Axis!
Fenris is truly beautiful!
After a dozen minutes of flight, the transport craft arrived in space, hovering above the Emperor's Dream, the flagship of the Master of Mankind's Great Crusade.
It was a Gloriana-class battleship, though about half again as large as a standard one, surrounded by numerous battle barges, destroyers, cruisers, and frigates.
Once the warriors of Fenris boarded the Emperor's Dream, they were taken by the Tech-Priests of the Mechanicus for physical examinations; these men were to be modified into Space Marines and implanted with the gene-seed of the Wolf King, Leman Russ.
These native tribal warriors, having boarded a spaceship, turned into curious children, looking around and taking everything in.
"Stop gawking! Hurry up and follow me. You are about to undergo the surgical modifications to become Space Marines. If you pass the screening, it will take five to six years to complete the process," a Tech-Priest stated.
In their eyes, Fenris was nothing more than a feral world, where the human technological civilization was equivalent to, or perhaps even worse than, the Middle Ages.
"Warriors of the tribe, don't let them look down on you. Go and undergo the modification! I hope each and every one of you becomes my gene-son," Leman Russ said, nodding at the group.
"ROAR!! For the Wolf King! We will surely succeed and become your sons!" The tribal warriors beat their chests and followed the Tech-Priest away.
Most of the warriors Leman Russ brought this time were under 20 years old, some having just entered puberty; the success rate for their Astartes Surgery would be significantly higher.
As for the 10 adults with a 100% success rate for Astartes Surgery, Leman Russ had not yet utilized those opportunities.
"Please follow us! The great Primarch, the Emperor, is waiting for you." A Space Marine of the Sixth Legion gestured for them to follow.
Leman Russ nodded and, with Axis in tow, followed the Sixth Legion Space Marines until they reached a magnificent hall in the center of the ship.
The Master of Mankind, the Emperor, sat high upon his throne, flanked by a group of guards standing 3.2 meters tall, clad in golden armor and wielding Power Halberds.
These warriors were the Emperor's Adeptus Custodes; wherever the Emperor appeared, they followed.
Axis, filled with curiosity, pressed his Power Level Scouter against these Adeptus Custodes, wanting to see the power levels of these golden corn cobs.
A series of beeps sounded; although faint, it still drew the attention of all the Adeptus Custodes present. However, they said nothing about the actions of a small child.
After all, he was brought by the Wolf King, and the Emperor had previously mentioned that the Adeptus Custodes would recruit a new initiate here; this kid must be the one.
Power level 1123, power level 1168, power level 1112, power level 1113—Axis tested four of the Adeptus Custodes in succession.
Their power levels were essentially all over a thousand, and the physical strength of each one was at least a dozen times that of an ordinary Space Marine.
The value of the Adeptus Custodes was indeed very high.
Standing beside the Emperor was a man about 4 meters tall, wearing pure white Power Armor, with a cold, bald face.
"You have finally arrived, Leman Russ!
Let me introduce you. This is your brother, the Primarch of the 16th Legion, the Luna Wolves, and the first Primarch I recovered, Horus." Emperor smiled, nodded at Leman Russ, and introduced his other son standing nearby.
This was his proudest son, Horus, whom he had been grooming as his successor; both his combat prowess and his talent in the military sphere left the Emperor very satisfied.
Axis also looked curiously at the man standing 4 meters tall. This was the Emperor's truly "filial" son of the future! The culprit who would eventually force the Emperor onto the Golden Throne.
"Hahaha! Greetings, my brother!" Leman Russ greeted Horus before him with great generosity.
However, he was met with a roll of Horus's eyes. To be honest, this brother's appearance was hard to look at; could such a barbarian really be his brother?
Moreover, now that this guy was back, he was no longer the Father's only son. Honestly, the feeling made Horus somewhat uncomfortable.
Still, on the surface, Horus nodded at Leman Russ with a smile.
"Greetings, brother!" Horus said with a laugh.
Emperor saw the change in Horus. This first son he had recovered was the one he doted on the most, and now that a brother had returned, it might make him feel a bit uneasy!
However, the Emperor believed that Horus would soon get along with this new brother; this child had never disappointed him.
"Russ! Before you returned, your Astartes Legions all had numerical prefixes.
Now that you Primarchs have returned, you may rename your legions.
For instance, Horus's legion is called the Luna Wolves. What name do you intend to give your legion?" the Emperor asked.
"Hmm! Father, let's call my legion the Space Wolves! It relates to wolves as well," Leman Russ replied.
