Looking at the white orb of light before him, the Emperor carefully wrapped it in his golden Psykic Power, then drew it closer.
Using his immensely powerful mental energy, he began examining the energy within the small white orb. It was just as he had expected.
This white energy had tremendous destructive power, but it also had positive effects. It contained life energy, along with a sensation difficult to describe in words. The power of qi seemed to be nearly on par with the Warp's Psykic Power.
It was a sensation beyond words, as if it were righteousness, the breath of life, cellular energy, a person's bearing, a person's aura, or a person's very essence.
This power, called qi, seemed to belong to Axis alone. Leman Russ had tried to acquire it before, and Axis had indeed helped him, but the results had been minimal.
"Axis, can you teach me how to refine this qi?" the Emperor asked.
This energy called qi was far more useful than Psykik Power. Psykik Power couldn't greatly enhance your body.
That was because Psykik Power wasn't your own. You used your body and soul as conduits to draw power from the Warp.
If your body couldn't withstand that power, Psykik Power would turn against you, and you might even be exploited by some Chaos Daemon entities.
They could tear open a bloody portal of flesh and blood using your soul and body, allowing vast numbers of Warp entities to pour into Realspace.
The reason his own Psykik Power was so powerful, safe, and stable was that there were special circumstances: a terrifying being lay dormant within him, and it was itself a being from the Warp.
If he could obtain a power that rivaled Psykik Power while being even safer, the Emperor would gladly do so.
"Of course. I'll teach you, though I can't guarantee you'll be able to master it."
Axis nodded, then had the Emperor sit cross-legged. He carefully explained how qi circulated and how to refine it.
As when he had taught Leman Russ, Axis circulated his qi through the Emperor's body, helping him feel its power more clearly.
Unfortunately, even someone as mighty as the Emperor of Mankind, one of the most powerful beings in the universe, couldn't comprehend the power of qi.
No matter how he tried, even when Axis left a tiny seed of qi inside the Emperor, it quickly dissipated like water without a source.
"What a pity! It seems this power belongs to you alone. Make good use of it, my child," the Emperor said, looking at Axis.
"I will," Axis replied with a slight nod.
It seemed only those from the Dragon Ball World could comprehend qi. This was a treasure he had gained after crossing over from the Dragon Ball World into the Warhammer Universe.
It was a power unique to living beings from the Dragon Ball World. Humans and other life-forms in the Warhammer Universe simply couldn't comprehend it.
It was a power unique to one world, just like Psykik Power was unique to the Warhammer Universe!
Saiyans could have children with humans. He wondered whether any children he fathered would possess the power of qi.
Axis had a theory: perhaps one could only learn qi in the Dragon Ball World to gain this power.
Even if he reproduced with a human in this universe and had a half-blood Saiyan child, the child would inherit the Saiyan's physical strength, but not qi. That was because this world had no concept of qi.
By the same logic, anyone who tried to clone him using his blood would fail too. At most, they would create a monster with immense, uncontrollable strength but no qi!
It would be like the Primarchs cloned by Fabius Bile, the old quack of the future: they had the Primarchs' appearance and bodies, but not their Warp Essence.
"Axis, have you discovered anything remarkable about this power you call qi? It seems able to sustain a person's life," the Emperor said.
Since this energy called qi contained life force, in theory it should be able to provide excellent restorative or even healing effects.
"That's true! But its healing effect is nowhere near as good as the Medical Tank I provided. It can only keep someone barely alive," Axis said with a nod.
Qi could indeed keep a dying person alive by forcing their life to linger, but it had practically no healing ability. Namekians, however, could heal others through their unique abilities.
"This special power is the foundation of everything. You've only developed its destructive potential. In the future, you should try to develop its other uses. Trust me, this power is more than you think," the Emperor said.
Hearing the Emperor's words, Axis nodded thoughtfully. Qi could indeed take many forms. Even gods possessed qi. Could the Namekians' special abilities be another way of using it?
The power of qi wasn't just for destruction. The Emperor was right: he should study it further.
"Axis, when you infused your qi into another person and it circulated through their body, it enhanced their physical abilities. Have you noticed that?" the Emperor asked.
When Axis had infused qi into Leman Russ before, it had improved Russ's physical abilities considerably in just one year.
This astonished the Emperor. Once the Primarchs reached adulthood, their physical forms were essentially fixed at the pinnacle of human potential. Unless they awakened their Warp Essence, they could only improve their combat strength by honing their skills.
Yet with Axis's qi, Leman Russ's physical abilities had grown. When Axis circulated qi through his own body, the Emperor had also clearly felt it nourishing his cells and enhancing his physical abilities. The effect was slight, but undeniable.
So although this power called qi couldn't be granted to others for their own use, Axis should be able to use it to enhance their physical abilities. And the boy himself hadn't even noticed.
"??? My qi can enhance other people's physical abilities?" Axis asked in surprise.
"Yes! Qi can enhance other people's physical abilities, although the process is very slow.
"Your qi enhanced Russ before. After the Primarchs I created reached adulthood, their physical strength shouldn't have grown any further.
"But after coming into contact with your qi, Russ's physical strength increased," the Emperor said.
