Awakening

A Martial Soul is awakened by sensing and guiding the power within one's body. Possessing a Martial Soul and Soul Power is essential to becoming a Soul Master; ordinary people without Soul Power lack that path to strength in an era threatened by Evil Soul Masters. 1

Innate Soul Power is measured after awakening. Innate Full Soul Power is exceptionally rare and marks a Soul Master as an outstanding prodigy. 1 2

Martial Soul quality is closely tied to combat potential, though technique and experience may still affect a battle's outcome. 5

Soul Masters manifest their Martial Souls through Martial Soul Possession. Beast-type Martial Souls may envelop or alter the user, while tool-type Martial Souls can be directly summoned for combat. 5
