Frieza's death left everyone feeling conflicted. A wicked emperor who had ruled for generations had been taken out just like that. It was hard to believe.

After defeating Frieza, Luya dispelled his transformation and returned to his original appearance.

[Beep! Congratulations, Host! You have completed the mission: Defeat Frieza!]

[Beep! Reward issued: 500 million battle power!]

[The Host is rewarded with Frieza Cells! You can now survive in outer space!]

[You have been rewarded with the Super Saiyan 3 transformation skill!]

[You have been rewarded with 100 Senzu Beans!]

[The power of Kaioken has been upgraded. Its current multiplier is tenfold!]

Hearing the series of notifications in his mind, Luya was overjoyed. Damn, these rewards were pretty generous! His battle power had increased by 500 million! And he'd even gotten the Super Saiyan 3 skill! That meant he could transform into Super Saiyan 3, just like Goku!

As far as he knew, in the entire Dragon Ball series, only Goku and Gotenks—the fusion of Goten and Trunks—could transform into Super Saiyan 3. Now there was one more person!

"Uh, um... Luya?" Goku's voice brought Luya back to his senses.

Luya looked at Goku and asked in confusion, "What is it?"

Goku's expression was serious. "How do you know my techniques?!"

The others hurried over, and when they heard Goku, they all turned to look at Luya.

Vegeta watched Luya with his arms crossed, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Luya glanced at everyone, then said, "I learned them from Gohan."

Everyone was taken aback. Goku looked at Gohan and asked, "Gohan, do you know Instant Transmission and Kaioken too?"

Gohan shook his head. "I don't, Dad! I only taught Luya the techniques I know. I don't know your special moves, so how could I have taught him?"

Goku nodded in understanding, then looked at Luya.

Luya smiled faintly. "I came up with Instant Transmission myself, and I figured out Kaioken on my own!"

"What?!" Everyone's expressions changed as they stared at Luya in disbelief.

Meanwhile, King Kai, far away in heaven, broke out in a cold sweat...

Goku looked at Luya strangely. "You came up with it? Do you even know where Instant Transmission comes from?"

"Planet Yardrat, of course! I went there once. The people were very kind, so I taught them the technique while I was there. What's the problem?" Luya replied as if it were obvious.

In truth, he was laughing to himself. Damn, who didn't know a little Dragon Ball history? As a transmigrator, he had this bluff down pat!

Goku's expression grew serious. He had learned Instant Transmission on Planet Yardrat himself. What Luya said seemed to make a bit of sense!

"Tch! How could that be?! You're so young! How could you know a technique like that? And you were still a kid back then!" Vegeta said through gritted teeth.

Luya looked at him and smiled. "Actually, I'm five hundred and twenty years old!"

"What?!" Everyone was stunned.

Luya grinned. "Actually, I trained in my homeland for five hundred years. I spent all that time pinned beneath a mountain, training. I went five hundred years without eating or drinking, enduring wind and rain. That's why I can transform into a Super Saiyan now! My homeland is called Five Finger Mountain!"

Everyone: "..."

Luya went on, "After I transformed into a Super Saiyan, I started traveling through the universe in search of opponents. Once I'd defeated everyone and become invincible, I came to this universe! Later, while exploring it, I discovered that Saiyans lived here, so I came to Earth!"

Listening to Luya's tall tale, everyone was only half-convinced. Could someone really live for hundreds of years?

"Honestly, aside from gods, I've never met anyone who could live that long..." Goku scratched his head.

"I've never heard of Saiyans living that long, either!" Vegeta said flatly.

"Just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, right?" Luya said with a faint smile.

Damn! He'd just realized that spinning a good yarn took skill. Without some knowledge, you really couldn't make things up convincingly!

But making things up wasn't against the law, was it?!

Just as everyone was puzzling over it, Goku suddenly said, "Oh, well! It's hard to believe, but it's not impossible. Ha ha!"

Then Goku looked at Luya and smiled confidently. "Mr. Luya, would you spar with me?"

Luya paused, then asked uncertainly, "Are you sure?"

Goku clenched his fist and grinned. "Of course! You're so strong, and I want to fight you!"

Everyone looked a little helpless, but they were used to Goku's personality and weren't surprised.

Vegeta, however, gritted his teeth in frustration. He gave a cold snort but said nothing.

[Beep! System mission triggered!]

[Mission: Fight Sun Wukong for 1,000 exchanges without losing!]

Luya: "???"

Damn, how had a mission popped up all of a sudden? And it was this difficult?

There was no doubt about it: with his current strength, he couldn't beat Sun Wukong unless he used Kaioken while in Super Saiyan 3 form!

"Well, Mr. Luya?" Goku asked eagerly, anticipation in his eyes.

Luya hesitated, then nodded. "All right."

"Great!" Goku was thrilled, making no effort to hide his excitement.

"Let's go somewhere farther away to fight, so we don't affect this place," Luya suggested.

"Sure!" Goku looked at Luya confidently. They smiled at each other, then used Instant Transmission and vanished.

Back where they'd been, everyone exchanged complicated looks.

"Tch! Kakarot!" Vegeta's expression darkened. Damn, Kakarot had been lured away by someone else. Wasn't that a slap in Prince Vegeta's face?

Kakarot's opponent could only be him! He was the only one qualified to defeat Kakarot!

The thought left Vegeta feeling bitter. He looked at Bulma. "Hey, Bulma, we're going back!"

Bulma looked around at everyone, then nodded quickly. "All right!"

Vegeta left with Bulma, and Jaco hurried after them.

The others exchanged looks too. The crisis had finally been resolved, so there was no reason for them to stay.

"Those two aren't going to get carried away, are they?" Krillin asked worriedly.

"Who knows? Gohan, let's go," Piccolo said flatly, beckoning to Gohan.

"Okay, Uncle Piccolo!" Gohan replied at once. Then he looked at Krillin and the others. "Everyone, let's head back. We'll be going now. See you!"

"Ah! Take care on the way!" Krillin and the others waved goodbye.

A short while later, everyone had left.

After an unknown length of time, a streak of rainbow light descended into the area.

"Hey, Whis! Where is everyone?" a cool voice called out.

"Oh my? What happened? They were just here a moment ago. Did they leave?" another voice asked in surprise.

"Hmph! It's all your fault for taking the wrong route! You wasted my time! I could've eaten so many desserts in that time!" The cool voice suddenly grew annoyed.

"Oh ho ho, please calm down, Lord Beerus. I'll take you to Miss Bulma's house right away," the other voice replied with a laugh.

A streak of rainbow light shot into the sky and vanished at the horizon in the blink of an eye...
