Personality
Goku is driven foremost by the opportunity to test himself against powerful opponents. He eagerly pursues battles with Monaka, Hit, Goku Black, Jiren, and other fighters even when their strength clearly exceeds his own. His excitement is tempered by straightforward honesty: he openly admits when an opponent such as Hit is likely stronger than him. 25 39 66 163
Despite his battle obsession, Goku acts when Earth or his allies are endangered. He stops Vegeta and Frieza’s fight before their attacks can devastate the planet, immediately confronts Goku Black after Vegeta is wounded, and refuses to surrender against Jiren despite being repeatedly overwhelmed. 15 95 164
He is also an adaptable fighter. Goku studies opponents during combat, discovers that Dyspo’s extreme-speed movement follows predictable straight paths, and uses scattered ki blasts to close off those routes. 162
Abilities & Skills
Saiyan Transformations
Goku can access several Super Saiyan forms, including divine transformations.
- Super Saiyan — Raises his power enough to dominate Frost in their tournament bout. 33
- Super Saiyan 3 — A form beyond Super Saiyan 2, used during his spar with Future Trunks and against Goku Black. 85 87
- Super Saiyan God — Uses red divine ki against Dyspo and later against Caulifla and Kale. 162 173
- Super Saiyan Blue — His primary godly form in major battles against Frieza, Hit, Goku Black, and Jiren. 15 44 95 163
- Ultra Instinct — Allows instinctive movement and briefly lets him match and injure Jiren. 166 167
- Cannot initially be sustained for long because of the technique’s severe stamina and control requirements. 167
Kaioken
Goku keeps Kaioken as a high-risk power multiplier, originally intending to save it for a future challenge against Beerus. 44
- Can be stacked with Super Saiyan Blue, doubling his power against Hit. 44
- Its heavy stamina drain leaves him unable to maintain pace with Hit for long. 47
- Can be raised to twentyfold, though even this fails to overcome Jiren’s defense. 164
Kamehameha
Goku uses the Kamehameha as both a precision technique and a large-scale defensive measure.
- Fires a Super Saiyan Blue Kamehameha between Vegeta and Frieza’s clashing attacks, blasting both energy waves away from Earth. 15
- Uses a full-power Kamehameha in his battle with Hit. 47
- Combines Kamehameha with twentyfold Kaioken against Jiren. 164
Instant Transmission
Goku can instantly relocate by sensing ki.
- Uses Instant Transmission to return while Beerus is preparing to impersonate Monaka. 66
- Employs it during combat with Beerus, appearing directly in front of him to launch an attack. 68
Combat Analysis
Goku learns opponents’ patterns while fighting rather than relying solely on raw power.
- Identifies that Dyspo’s super-speed charges travel in straight lines. 162
- Uses a spread of ki blasts to force Dyspo into predictable routes, then defeats him in Super Saiyan Blue. 162
- Tests Jiren with weaker forms before committing to Super Saiyan Blue, attempting to measure the gap between them. 163
