"Are you looking for me?"
Suddenly, a weathered voice rang out from behind him. The robber boss reacted quickly, spinning around to fire, but William grabbed the barrel, forcing the muzzle upward. The bullets whistled harmlessly into the wall.
"Bang! Bang! Bang..."
The Desert Eagle ran dry in an instant. The robber boss tossed the pistol aside and grabbed an AK-47, intent on opening fire.
William reached out, snatched the AK-47, gripped it with both hands, and snapped it in two with raw strength!
"What the hell!"
The robber boss froze. Was this guy a monster? How could he snap a gun in half with his bare hands?
Without a moment's hesitation, he grabbed the bag on the floor and prepared to bolt. But William wouldn't let the criminal escape so easily; he grabbed the bag as well, and the two began to struggle over it.
Soldier: 76's strength far exceeded that of an ordinary man; the robber boss was no match for him. A tear began to form on the bag, and since it was already stuffed to the brim, the gap widened rapidly under their tug-of-war.
The next moment, the entire bag ripped open, and its contents flew out. A sky full of banknotes rained down, like a downpour obscuring William's vision.
"Soldier: 76 transformation time remaining: 60 seconds..."
Watching the robber boss seize the chaos to flee the bank, William was about to give chase when Athena's voice sounded.
"Wait, Athena, where is my gun?"
Truth be told, he didn't actually want to fight enemies empty-handed; rushing out earlier had been purely a surge of adrenaline. He had only transformed into Soldier: 76 because he couldn't bear to watch the bank manager get killed.
Now that he had calmed down and looked at his red gloves, he realized, Wait, where is my gun?
Soldier: 76's greatest asset was his stable output. A soldier without a gun was no soldier at all; an empty-handed Soldier: 76 was just brawling with enemies. He needed a weapon!
"Weapon: Heavy Pulse Rifle unlocking..."
Following a brilliant flash of white light, the mighty Heavy Pulse Rifle came into view. With its sleek exterior and striking colors, one look was enough to tell that this was a super-rifle brimming with technology and a futuristic feel!
Heavy Pulse Rifle: An epoch-making weapon from Overwatch, a pulse rifle capable of firing Helix Rockets. It maintains stable output while performing full-pulse fire. Magazine capacity: 25.
"We're soldiers now." William glanced down at the weapon in his hands, then activated Sprint and gave chase.
A black van was parked right at the bank's entrance. In reality, there were six robbers in total; five were responsible for the heist, while the sixth waited in the vehicle. The engine had been left running so they could make a clean getaway the moment they succeeded.
However, survival was more pressing now.
"Go! Drive!" the robber boss urged as he pulled the door shut.
The driver was clutching a laptop. He was the sixth member of the gang; besides driving, he had hacked the bank's alarm system and security cameras to ensure everything went off without a hitch.
Seeing the panicked expression on the boss's face, he couldn't help but ask, "Huh? Why are you alone? Where are the others?"
"Cut the crap! Just drive!" the robber boss roared, slapping the driver on the head. The driver didn't know what had happened, but he obeyed, slamming his foot on the gas. The van lurched forward, gradually pulling away from the bank.
He glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the robber boss looking back with a nervous, deeply worried expression.
"Damn it, what the hell is going on today!" The robber boss looked back to see a figure suddenly appear, pursuing them. Seeing that familiar red visor and the shock of white hair, he couldn't help but curse.
He had been eyeing that bank for a long time; it was far from the police station and had weak security. If that guy hadn't interfered today, he would have made a fortune. As it stood, he hadn't gotten a single cent and had lost four of his men.
"The more I think about it, the angrier I get!" The robber boss found a Thompson Submachine Gun in the van, threw the door open, leaned half his body out, and opened fire on William!
"Da-da-da..."
The Thompson Submachine Gun was also known as the Chicago Typewriter, because its gunfire sounded just like a clacking typewriter.
In an instant, a dense rain of bullets descended upon William. He dodged frantically, countless rounds whistling past him.
"Now it's my turn."
William raised the pulse rifle, his finger already resting on the trigger. A futuristic hum resonated; he knew this was the sound of the pulse rounds charging!
"What the hell is that thing?"
The robber boss saw the mysterious rifle in the opponent's hands from afar. He had never seen such a weapon; it seemed as if it didn't belong to this era.
In the blink of an eye, the muzzle of the Heavy Pulse Rifle erupted with light, and blue flames poured forth!
Instinct told the robber boss that if he were hit by the bullets from that gun, he would be dead for sure.
He immediately dove back into the van as the pulse rounds came hurtling toward him. He scrambled to get low, the sound of whistling bullets filling his ears.
This was William's first time firing a gun in reality, and his accuracy was dismal—he hadn't hit a single thing.
However, looking closely, the van's door and body were riddled with bullet holes. The windshield in front of the driver had been shattered, and in his panic, he jerked the steering wheel, causing the van to snake across the road to dodge the enemy's fire.
The Heavy Pulse Rifle had a total of 25 rounds, and William quickly emptied the magazine. Just as he finished reloading, Athena's voice sounded again:
"William, Soldier: 76's transformation time has 10 seconds remaining. You are running out of time."
"I can't let the bad guys get away!" William immediately canceled his Sprint. He raised the Heavy Pulse Rifle, aimed at the van's trunk, and said in a low voice: "Helix Rockets!"
Helix Rockets: Blast your enemies. Fires three micro-rockets from Soldier: 76's pulse rifle. They fly in a spiral toward the target, dealing massive damage to enemies in a small area.
Note: Helix Rockets can be used to perform a rocket jump.
Soldier: 76 had high output and high bullet damage, but the spread of his continuous fire was significant, making it difficult for the untrained William to hit his target. Seeing that his transformation time was about to end, William didn't hesitate and fired the Helix Rockets!
On the streets of Brooklyn, the van swerved like a headless fly. Three micro-rockets streaked across the sky, glowing blue and spinning rapidly, closing in on the vehicle with a piercing, high-pitched whistle!
"Oh, fuck!" The robber boss wore a look of pure terror, and the driver saw the three approaching blue lights in the rearview mirror. He widened his eyes, pulled the handbrake, and yanked the steering wheel hard.
The van spun in place, the Helix Rockets grazing its roof and kicking up golden sparks, but they missed the target and slammed into a fire hydrant by the side of the road instead.
"Boom!"
The hydrant exploded instantly, sending a fountain of water shooting into the sky; countless droplets rained down, as if a torrential downpour had descended from the heavens.
"Don't look back! Go!" the robber boss, now soaked to the bone, shouted immediately.
Just as Soldier: 76 was pursuing the bank robbers, chaos reigned outside the bank that had just been hit.
Police cars and ambulances took forever to arrive, and a cordon was finally strung up around the entrance. There were many onlookers nearby; in dangerous Brooklyn, bank robberies were a common occurrence, and everyone had long since grown accustomed to such things.
Among these people stood a man in a black suit. He took off his sunglasses, pulled out his phone, and said in a calm tone, "Sir, I need the surveillance footage for every street in Brooklyn..."
