Gravity Training Room

Jiang Yun had just returned to the Martial Alliance when he heard some good news!

A few years earlier, he had proposed the Gravity Training Room project and secretly recruited scientists to build one. Everyone else had been baffled. Gravity training might have some benefits, but spending a huge amount of money on it seemed like a poor investment!

They had no idea what the future held, but how could Jiang Yun not know? It was precisely because he knew what was coming that he had decided to plan ahead. The Gravity Training Room was a crucial part of that plan. With it, the Martial Alliance's disciples could make enormous progress and eventually gain the ability to face the threats from space.

Besides, Jiang Yun knew that humans were physically weaker than Saiyans. That was why, later on, Goku could learn the Kaioken while the others who had also gone to King Kai's Planet could not. It wasn't because King Kai refused to teach them. Their human bodies were simply too frail; forcing themselves to use the technique would cause their bodies to collapse.

The Kaioken King Kai had developed was ultimately too violent. Compared to the enhancement technique Jiang Yun had created, his own technique had milder side effects, though it might not last as long. But since its energy wasn't as volatile, it might last about the same amount of time. All in all, each technique had its own advantages, and the Kaioken still had room for improvement.

After Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan, he never used the Kaioken again. It wasn't that he didn't want to; the Super Saiyan form already put a strain on his body. Using the Kaioken on top of that would make his body collapse. He wouldn't need an enemy to defeat him—he'd wreck himself.

So why could Goku use the Kaioken in Dragon Ball Super, and even multiply his power by so much? Godly Power had strengthened his body, but more importantly, Goku had improved the Kaioken, reducing its side effects and lowering the requirements for using it.

With the training room, Jiang Yun could not only strengthen his own body and improve his training, but also speed up the Martial Alliance disciples' progress. He didn't expect them to be invincible; he only wanted them to have the power to protect Earth, rather than be unable to handle even a bunch of weaklings.

Still, Jiang Yun believed that under his leadership, they could surpass so-called advanced planets. Planet Vegeta, which had not been destroyed, was an advanced planet, and a powerful one even by those standards.

The main reason, though, was that its people could transform into Great Apes, increasing their battle power tenfold. It was an absurd boost. And because the Saiyans served Frieza, their reputation across the universe was infamous—at one point, even worse than Frieza's. After all, Frieza rarely fought personally. People knew he was powerful, but the Saiyans inspired far more fear throughout the universe.

Earth would eventually have to venture into space. If its technology advanced enough for people to leave the planet, their weak combat strength would make them easy prey.

In the original Dragon Ball, it wasn't that Earthlings couldn't leave Earth. The Capsule Corporation certainly had the means. They didn't reveal how to build spaceships because they felt Earth wasn't ready to face the universe, and its people weren't strong enough. The Dragon Team wouldn't protect them forever. On Earth, they might be safe; once they left, they would be on their own. They should be grateful to have a group like that protecting the planet and its people.

In Jiang Yun's view, Goku and the others had protected Earth too well. Even after the planet had been blown up, and they had endured so many hardships, their memories were eventually erased. They knew nothing about what had happened. The only thing they vaguely remembered was King Piccolo.

But as time passed, even that memory gradually faded!

Meanwhile, the Dragon Team, who had risked their lives for Earth, lived quietly. They were even afraid of being seen by ordinary people, and when danger struck, people dismissed them as entertainers doing tricks.

Jiang Yun believed that if they had borne the burden of protecting everyone, they deserved to enjoy the treatment heroes were owed. Goku's family lived in poverty. Aside from training and making money, Goku could hardly do anything. But could anyone blame him?

No!

He was a hero, a hero of Earth!

Heroes deserved the status heroes were owed. At the very least, they shouldn't have to struggle to make ends meet. In the original story, if Goku's family hadn't been poor, perhaps Gohan wouldn't have become Great Saiyaman.

And this!

Could Chi-Chi be blamed? No. She never demanded anything because of Goku's enormous contributions, nor did she ask Bulma for help just because Bulma was rich. Instead, she taught Gohan to become a scholar.

She also hoped that Gohan would be able to support himself on this planet.

All in all, the Dragon Team were martial artists with a strong sense of justice. Aside from Yamcha being a bit of a womanizer and eventually giving up martial arts, there was nothing wrong with them. They never abused their overwhelming power. Instead, they found honest work. A baseball player counted as having an honest job, right?

It wasn't that Jiang Yun blamed Yamcha. After King Piccolo appeared, Yamcha had worked hard to catch up. Even after dying in the battle to defend Earth, he kept striving for the pinnacle of martial arts. But as one overwhelming enemy after another appeared, he was powerless to help. He even died several times, and the enemies were beyond his ability to defeat.

In his view, Goku and the others would protect Earth. No matter how hard he trained, he'd never catch up. Even Krillin and Tien Shinhan were far stronger than him.

He couldn't be blamed for giving up martial arts. He'd also had terrible luck—he was the one who died every time.

Who wouldn't worry if that happened to them? What if Goku and the others forgot to bring him back to life one day?

The others had more resilient Martial Hearts. In Dragon Ball Super, Tien Shinhan cut off contact with everyone else and opened a dojo alone in the mountains, where he taught disciples.

His performance in the Tournament of Power also proved that his battle power was no joke.

Jiang Yun was confident that the world to come would be exciting, dazzling, and glorious!

Jiang Yun planned to promote martial arts everywhere in the future, along with all the research he had done on martial techniques over the years. Given their talent, they might well be able to match the Saiyans someday. Even if they couldn't, they wouldn't have to sink to the level of dealing with weaklings.

And if they found their own path along the way, they might even reach the Divine Realm.

By developing the Gravity Training Room ahead of time, Jiang Yun believed Earth's martial arts would flourish. And with Jiang Yun himself as a butterfly whose wings had altered the course of events, perhaps everyone would have a different life in the future.

After learning that the Gravity Training Room had been completed, Jiang Yun called in Bu Chen and instructed him, "Bu Chen, increase funding for the construction of the Gravity Training Rooms. Also, reserve them for the core disciples. They'll use the contribution points issued by the Martial Alliance as currency for training."

The Martial Alliance had been around for several years, and Jiang Yun knew that he couldn't keep giving without asking anything in return. People tended not to value things that came too easily, so he had established various contribution systems.

With the system in place, the Martial Alliance had become much more active. Even wandering martial artists had joined, taking on some of the tasks the alliance posted. Of course, they weren't core disciples of the Martial Alliance.

The Martial Alliance served as a kind of platform.

Unsurprisingly, this was all part of Jiang Yun's plan, put into action with the Martial Alliance's help!

As for why he had done this, Jiang Yun had a much deeper purpose!
