Background / History

Goku was born a low-power Saiyan named Kakarot, the son of Bardock and Gine. Sent to Earth because of his weak combat power, he struck his head as a child and lost his memories of his original mission and identity. Raditz later revealed their relationship and the Saiyans’ history to him. 143

He was raised by Grandpa Gohan, a former student of the Turtle Hermit. During his Dragon Ball journey with Bulma, Goku met the Turtle Hermit, gained the Flying Nimbus, and learned the Kamehameha after seeing it demonstrated. He promised to become the Hermit’s disciple once the Dragon Ball search was complete. 23

Appearance

Goku first appears as a small, tailed boy. After three years of Lookout training, he returns as a tall, handsome young man while retaining his distinctive hair. 24 35 91
