More than a year went by in the blink of an eye, and the story of Dragon Ball was about to begin.
Just then, a boy and a girl began their fateful encounter. The two young people met by chance, and from that moment on, a legend began.
"By the way, what's your name?"
"Me? I'm Goku, Sun Goku. What about you?"
"My name... my name is Bulma..."
Bulma hesitated before giving her name.
"Bulma? What a weird name."
Hearing Bulma's name, Goku couldn't help laughing out loud. Amid Bulma's complaints, he went into his house, where she told him the story of the Dragon Balls.

Dr. Brief couldn't help asking, "Young man, are you here to see Bulma? I think she's already gone out looking for some Dragon Balls because of a strange legend."
Dr. Brief casually poured two cups of coffee and pushed one across the table to Jiang Yun.
Jiang Yun took a sip of coffee but didn't speak. After a moment, he finally said, "Dr. Brief, I'm not here to see Bulma. On the contrary, I came to see you. I wanted to ask if you have the technology to build a spacecraft capable of traveling through space."
Hearing Jiang Yun's question, Dr. Brief fell silent, as though deep in thought. A little while later, he looked at Jiang Yun in confusion and said, "I do have spacecraft technology, but it can only be used to travel around the Solar System. Traveling through space is completely out of the question."
Brief didn't know why this young man wanted to go into space. Knowing how dangerous space was, he had no intention of making the spacecraft technology public. Earth was still nowhere near ready to face the dangers out there.
Dr. Brief had no idea what Jiang Yun was thinking. The day when they would have to face Frieza was drawing closer, so Jiang Yun had been wondering whether he could go into space first, have a look around, and develop his strength a little. At his current level, if he unleashed all his power, he would count as a fairly skilled fighter in Universe 7.
Although Jiang Yun was a little disappointed by Dr. Brief's answer, he accepted it calmly. After all, getting spacecraft technology wasn't his main goal this time. The little bit revealed in the original story suggested that Dr. Brief might not have complete spacecraft technology, but with the Briefs family's genius and their connection to Jaco of the Galactic Patrol, who knew whether they were holding something back?
Still, Jiang Yun wasn't too dejected. He continued, "Dr. Brief, hello. I'm Jiang Yun, the Alliance Leader of the Martial Alliance. I believe you've heard of us."

"It's not as bad as you think, Dr. Brief. You know I'm a martial artist. I've already adapted to ten times gravity. To reach a higher level, I have to undergo even more rigorous training. I'm not going to turn it up to such a high multiplier all at once."
Hearing that Jiang Yun had adapted to ten times gravity, Dr. Brief knew that although it was still far from a hundred times, it was already an incredible feat. Jiang Yun's body must be as strong as steel.

Jiang Yun was quite crafty. He knew ordinary things would have a hard time tempting Dr. Brief. As for money, Dr. Brief's family was the richest in the world; money didn't interest him. If Jiang Yun offered him Senzu Beans, he'd have something that would pique Dr. Brief's interest and get the Gravity Training Room in return. It was a win-win situation. Why not?
"Do immortals really exist? Never mind, it makes no difference either way. But do Senzu Beans really have such amazing effects?"
A moment ago, Dr. Brief had looked utterly shocked. Now he asked the question very calmly.

Thinking about the Senzu Beans' miraculous effects, Brief grew interested and agreed to Jiang Yun's request. He told him to come back for the Gravity Training Room in a month. Jiang Yun left three Senzu Beans behind and went on his way. He couldn't bring himself to give just one. After all, he wasn't short on Senzu Beans right now. Though, in another sense, their ability to save lives meant he was still getting the better end of the deal.
Jiang Yun walked out of Capsule Corp in high spirits. Then he thought of Goku and Bulma's adventure. They must have met by now. That godlike man was about to embark on his legendary journey.
Thinking of Turtle Hermit, whom he'd once wanted to seek out, Jiang Yun wondered whether he should go see him. He'd once even thought about becoming his disciple. But now he'd already surpassed Turtle Hermit. The twists and turns of life really were strange! Still, it might be nice to see Goku as a child. Jiang Yun was interested in him, and although he knew all about him, they'd never actually met.
"I've got a month. I might as well go take a look!"
Jiang Yun's face lit up with excitement. He was clearly quite interested in the idea!
