Jiang Yun, lost in thought, suddenly looked up, his eyes gleaming as he began to voice his conjectures.
"That's right. In the original story, Dende's Healing Art required the consumption of his own ki, unlike mine, which I can trigger almost infinitely. The portion of ki he used for healing was permanently consumed."
Jiang Yun continued to articulate his thoughts, much like a top student from his past life solving an incredibly difficult math problem.
He seemed almost possessed, continuing to mutter, "If the portion of ki I convert could replace the life energy of the subject being healed, instead of stimulating cells, it would guide cellular regeneration. By consuming the special energy I've converted rather than the subject's own energy, I could achieve the same healing effect as Dende."
Excellent!
That was it; this plan was truly feasible!
Jiang Yun quickly began his experiment. Using his converted ki, which was identical to Dende's green healing energy, he bypassed the stimulation method and instead injected it to guide cellular regeneration. During this process, Jiang Yun discovered that the ki consumption was ten times higher than before, but it was of no consequence, as the previous healing method consumed almost nothing and recovered in an instant.
After finishing his experiments on plants, Jiang Yun moved on to animals. He found that healing animals consumed slightly more ki than plants, and the consumption varied based on the severity of the injuries. This reminded Jiang Yun of the law of conservation of energy; it seemed his experiment was a success.
Next was human testing. In Jiang Yun's view, this was essential; otherwise, if his skill proved ineffective or had minimal impact on humans in the future, it would be a fatal oversight.
Jiang Yun was unsure how it would affect people, or if it would have a self-healing effect on ki masters.
He sliced his own arm, and blood immediately began to trickle down. Jiang Yun covered the wound with his converted ki. He felt a tingling sensation in his arm, and after a moment, the wound became smooth, as if it had never existed.
Afterward, Jiang Yun tested the skill on several Martial Alliance disciples, all of whom were shocked to discover that ki could actually heal human injuries.
Bu Chen exclaimed, "Alliance Leader, can we learn this? If we master this skill, we won't have to worry about getting hurt anymore."
Bu Fan scratched his head and said sheepishly, "I want to learn it too. If I learn this, I won't have to worry about being crippled, right? It's so cool—what a great skill for showing off!"
The others expressed their desire to learn as well; it was an incredibly useful skill.
"Hahaha, everyone can learn it. I developed this skill specifically for you all to learn. We need to cultivate our own medical staff. Members with less talent can specialize in medical care, and we'll raise their benefits accordingly," Jiang Yun said happily. One couldn't always rely on Senzu Beans and medical machines; after all, you couldn't carry medical equipment with you during a battle.
As Jiang Yun thought this, his mind drifted back to Bu Fan's words about not worrying about being crippled. Yes, this skill—which Jiang Yun temporarily named Healing Art—guided cellular regeneration. Even if a limb were severed, he could guide it to grow back to its original state, though it would consume more ki than simple healing, as regenerating new limbs required more cells and naturally more energy.
Jiang Yun even imagined using this skill to make a fortune in the future.
No! To benefit the masses!
However, this would require a lot of manpower. Jiang Yun even considered finding a way to store the healing method outside the body, but that was a major research project that would require a team. He immediately thought about the future, but that was a long way off. Forget it; he would worry about future matters later.
What Jiang Yun was thinking about now was the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament. Goku was about to make his appearance, and it was a good chance to train the new generation of the Martial Alliance. He didn't expect them to achieve great results, but participation was key, and broadening their horizons would be a good thing.
On the other side, the Turtle Hermit and the others arrived at the venue with Goku and Krillin. Goku and Krillin appeared at the World Martial Arts Tournament site wearing little suits.
The Turtle Hermit looked at the massive venue before him, unable to hide his shock. Previous tournaments couldn't compare to this one. Thanks to the Martial Alliance's promotion, it had become a major event recognized worldwide. It wasn't just the martial arts community that had arrived; many people involved in fighting sports had also come, drawn by the massive prize money.
The venue remained on Papaya Island, and the announcer was the same one who loved martial arts. In Jiang Yun's view, it was a pity that such a man didn't study martial arts, so he decided to take the announcer back with him after the event concluded.
Goku and the others looked at the bustling crowd; Goku remarked that this was the most people he had ever seen.
Bulma explained, "This is because of the Martial Alliance's sponsorship, which is why it's so lively. The Martial Alliance even increased the prize money; the champion gets fifty million!"
Everyone was instantly captivated by the amount Bulma mentioned, and they began to fantasize about their lives after winning the prize. Symbols of money seemed to appear in their eyes.
The Turtle Hermit thought about how many of the latest magazines he could buy, and his face turned bright red. Yamcha fantasized about being surrounded by beautiful women, while Krillin imagined being picked up in a luxury car with beauties flocking to him—"Come here, little bald one!"
Bulma watched them daydreaming and shouted, "Wake up, all of you! What are you thinking about!"
Bulma stood with her hands on her hips, clearly knowing exactly what they were thinking.
The group snapped out of it. Goku, looking at their expressions, was completely confused. He looked up at Bulma and asked, "Bulma, what are you all talking about? Why are you acting so strangely?"
Goku scratched his head, looking utterly bewildered.
Bulma covered her face, looking helpless, and said, "Adult business, kids shouldn't ask!"
Everyone burst into laughter, leaving Goku behind, still scratching his head in confusion.
Returning to the topic of the Martial Alliance, Bulma began telling them about the alliance's rise to prominence. At first, the others didn't pay much attention, thinking it was just like any other fighting association with a bit of money.
But when Bulma mentioned that the Martial Alliance had once defeated the Crane School, the Turtle Hermit's expression suddenly turned grave. Others might not know, but how could the Turtle Hermit not?
The Crane School was the sect of his old rival, Master Shen. The fact that the Martial Alliance could defeat Master Shen and his group was significant; although their character was poor, their cultivation was quite impressive.
Bulma continued, "At the time, that so-called world's greatest assassin, Mercenary Tao, appeared. He did indeed defeat many Martial Alliance disciples, but then someone appeared to block him. They didn't win, but eventually, the Martial Alliance's Vice Alliance Leader emerged and defeated Mercenary Tao like sweeping away autumn leaves. Come to think of it, that Mercenary Tao is really pathetic to call himself the world's greatest assassin after that."
The Martial Alliance was incredibly popular in West City, so Bulma naturally knew some news, but since she wasn't part of the martial arts world, she didn't realize just how high the stakes were regarding Mercenary Tao!
