Background / History

Snow Empress originated from the concentrated essence of the Far North’s ice and snow. She became the region’s supreme ruler and foremost member of its Three Heavenly Kings, commanding reverence from hundreds of thousands of Soul Beasts 121 132.

Approximately seventy thousand years before meeting Ye Qing, she rescued a dying Hundred-Thousand-Year Sea-Current Narwhal near the Far North. Before its death, it told her about the Sea of Buried Corpses and left a spiritual imprint that she later used to guide Ye Qing toward the region 167.

Despite her immense cultivation, Snow Empress expected her seven-hundred-thousand-year heavenly tribulation to destroy both her body and soul. She predicted its arrival in ten thousand years and spent tens of thousands of years preparing an alternative: a Hundred-Thousand-Year Iceberg Snow Lotus that could help her withstand the tribulation or seal her origin so she could transform into a human and rebuild her cultivation 121 127.

Appearance

Snow Empress has a human-shaped appearance described as breathtakingly beautiful, sacred, and seemingly formed from pure ice and snow 120.

  • Hair: Long, silver-white hair likened to silver threads 121.
  • Eyes: Sapphire-blue eyes, usually carrying an aloof, emotionless gaze 120 121.
  • Clothing: A flowing white dress described as whiter than snow 120 124.
  • Presence: Emits an extreme chill that can make observers feel as though their souls are freezing 120 121.

Personality

Snow Empress is proud, reserved, and accustomed to unquestioned authority. She dismisses Dugu Bo as unqualified to enter the Far North’s core and declares that anyone entering without her recognition will die. Her initial response to the loss of her life-saving snow lotus is immediate killing intent 121 126.

Her severity is tempered by curiosity and long-term judgment. After discovering that Ye Qing’s Chaos World weakens heavenly tribulation, she briefly considers imprisoning him, then rejects the idea because confinement would ruin his spirit and talent. She instead chooses cooperation based on shared interests and explicitly promises not to harm him if their plan ultimately fails 124 128.

She is more receptive to humanity than Ice Empress. Ordinary people building cities and maintaining order in a harsh climate impress her, while Ye Qing’s account of Ah Yin’s condition evokes sympathy. Nevertheless, she remains cautious about human motives and questions the unexplained knowledge behind his proposals 134 166 185.

Her composure gradually gives way to occasional amusement around Ye Qing. She quietly enjoys his irreverence and observes his interactions with Dugu Yan with a faint smile. The Soul Spirit Prototype provokes a much stronger response: urgency, disappointment when its creation proves unreliable, and a renewed determination to support him for the Far North’s future 181 194 198 200.

Abilities & Skills

Ultimate Ice and Snow Control

  • Commands wind, snow, and extreme cold; storms automatically part around her as she travels through the Far North 126.
  • Condenses ice into weapons, including swords, icicles, and delicate hexagonal ice flowers 120 183 194.
  • Ends the Soul-Eating Overlord Flower’s chaotic battle with a quiet command and a gesture that summons snow and ice 206.
  • Uses an extreme-ice sword to pierce the Hundred-Thousand-Year Boneless Demon Fish’s skull and kill it instantly 184.

Emperor’s Cold Heaven: Snow Dance Radiant Sun

  • Uses Emperor’s Cold Heaven to seal Dugu Bo inside an iceberg after judging his poison mist a contamination of the Far North 125.
  • Unleashes Emperor’s Cold Heaven: Snow Dance Radiant Sun against the Hundred-Thousand-Year Flowing Flame Red Dragon 190.
  • Freezes the entire volcanic island—including magma, flames, sulfur smoke, and the dragon—leaving the immobilized target for Ye Qing to finish 190.

Wind-Snow Prison

  • Weaves wind and snow into crystalline ice chains and spears, creating a sealed enclosure around herself and Ye Qing 121.
  • Condenses the cold until no air circulates; the surrounding void develops fine fractures 121 122.
  • The prison collapses into ice fragments when she enters the Chaos Pearl and disappears from the battlefield 123.

Spiritual Perception and Analysis

  • Possesses spiritual power described as vast as an ocean and uses it to probe Ye Qing’s Chaos Green Lotus 123.
  • Detects the pure extreme-cold energy hidden inside an apparently ordinary auctioned stalactite 137.
  • Recognizes flaws in Shui Bing’er’s Martial Soul and identifies ancient or unusual Soul Beasts, including the Nine-Segment Fish Dragon Beast and Soul-Eating Overlord Flower 135 178 206.
  • Identifies outside control behind a coordinated Soul Beast encirclement rather than mistaking it for instinctive aggression 186.
  • Explains the Green Flood Dragon’s fusion with Dugu Yan’s Soul Ring as an advanced symbiotic contract 198.

Combat Control and Protection

  • Easily defeats and freezes Dugu Bo, a Titled Douluo 120 125.
  • Deflects Ice Empress’s pincer with a single finger and later catches a fully committed lethal strike without difficulty 126 182.
  • Intercepts the Boneless Demon Fish’s concealed attack on Ye Qing with a precisely placed icicle 183.
  • Can crack the newly formed Chaos World’s space with a light fingertip release of power 124.

Limitations and Vulnerabilities

  • Heavenly tribulation: Believes she cannot survive her approaching seven-hundred-thousand-year tribulation without another means of protection 127.
  • Bloodline suppression: The Chaos Green Lotus’s aura makes her Heavenly Snow Woman bloodline tremble involuntarily 121.
  • Divine barriers: Cannot penetrate the laws protecting the Chaos Pearl and Heavenly God Pearl with her spiritual probe 123.
  • Concealed enemies: Cannot pinpoint the Boneless Demon Fish after it retreats, despite recognizing its exceptional concealment 183.
  • Human apex power: Recognizes that even in the Far North she would gain little advantage against a rank-ninety-nine Peerless Douluo 160.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Snow God Palace — A vast, translucent ice-crystal palace containing an ice throne. Ye Qing transfers the entire structure and its glacier foundation into the Chaos World as a home for the two Empresses 126 128 129.
  • Hundred-Thousand-Year Iceberg Snow Lotus — Her intended tribulation aid and transformation safeguard. Ye Qing’s Chaos Green Lotus consumes it and converts it into his ninth Soul Ring before she can claim it 119 121 127.
  • Sea-Current Narwhal’s spiritual imprint — An ancient navigational clue used in the search for the Sea of Buried Corpses; its age makes the route uncertain 167 177.
  • Ice swords — Weapons formed directly from ultimate chill rather than carried as permanent equipment 120 184.

Relationships

  • Ye Qing — Initially the thief who destroyed her transformation opportunity; later her protected ally and hope for escaping tribulation. Their agreement exchanges her protection for his development of the Chaos World, with further soul-hunting assistance tied to her assessment of his character and potential 121 128 132.
  • Ice Empress — Close companion and fellow Far North ruler who has secretly loved her for hundreds of thousands of years. Snow Empress repeatedly calms her jealousy, restrains her attacks, and includes her in the plan to escape heavenly tribulation 126 127 128 182.
  • Dugu Bo — Initially an intruding human whose poison mist she finds offensive. She freezes him rather than killing him and later releases him at Ye Qing’s request 120 125.
  • Dugu Yan — Ye Qing’s partner and the recipient of the first demonstrated Soul Spirit Prototype. Snow Empress analyzes her bond with the Green Flood Dragon and recognizes its significance for Soul Beasts 192 198 199.
  • Ah Yin — Feels pity for her weakened, reborn condition. Initially offers a charitable view of Tang Hao’s actions, then becomes persuaded by Ye Qing’s interpretation that Ah Yin has been exploited 166.
  • Sea-Current Narwhal — A dying Soul Beast she rescued; the source of her knowledge about the Sea of Buried Corpses 167.
