God Realm, Palace of Life.

The night was like water, the stars dazzling.

In the garden outside the Palace of Life, the flowers and grass glowed faintly beneath the moonlight.

Occasionally, a few firefly-like sprites flitted past, leaving specks of light in their wake.

Everything was so peaceful and beautiful.

However, that peace did not last long.

Rumble—

A deafening boom rang out, as though the heavens themselves had shattered.

The once tranquil, beautiful starry sky was suddenly torn apart by an incomparably vast aura.

The sky began to change color, swiftly shifting from deep blue-black to dark purple.

The purple was so rich it seemed ready to drip blood, filled with endless lightning of destruction.

Bolts of purple lightning churned through the clouds, unleashing ear-splitting thunder.

At the very center of that dark-purple sky, a figure slowly emerged.

It was a man.

He wore a purple robe embroidered with intricate silver patterns that flashed with a cold gleam amid the lightning.

He had a handsome yet stern face, his brows carrying an innate majesty and brutality.

His eyes were a pure violet, as though they contained limitless destructive power. A single glance was enough to fill one with fear.

One of the God Realm's Five Great God Kings, the God of Destruction.

He stood there, surrounded by lightning of destruction, as though the entire world trembled beneath his pressure.

His gaze was locked firmly on the Palace of Life below.

That gaze held anger, suspicion, and an indescribable pain.

"Sea God!"

His voice exploded like thunder, echoing across the entire God Realm.

"Get the hell out here!"

That furious roar instantly alarmed every deity in the God Realm.

The deities who had been sleeping, cultivating, or busy with their affairs were all startled awake by that terrifying pressure.

They poked their heads out from their respective palaces and looked toward the Palace of Life, their faces filled with shock and confusion.

Why had the God of Destruction gone to the Palace of Life?

And why was he so furious?

And what did he mean by looking for the Sea God at the Goddess of Life's place?

After all, although the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life were both God Kings, their personalities were worlds apart.

One was fiery and irritable, while the other was gentle as water.

Though the God of Destruction normally had a bad temper, he was fairly restrained around the Goddess of Life. He had never come knocking to demand answers like this.

Yet today, he was roaring outside the Palace of Life. This was practically unprecedented.

For a time, countless divine senses crisscrossed through the air as the gods discussed the matter, all guessing at what had happened.

Meanwhile, in another corner of the God Realm, three figures had quietly gathered together.

The Evil God King, the Asura God, and the Goddess of Goodness.

The three sat atop a sea of clouds with all kinds of snacks laid out before them.

The Asura God pulled out a handful of sunflower seeds.

The Evil God King took out some peanuts.

The Goddess of Goodness directly produced two enormous watermelons. Once cut open, they revealed bright red flesh, their juice spilling everywhere.

As they ate snacks, the three watched the direction of the Palace of Life with great interest.

They looked exactly like three bystanders enjoying a juicy spectacle.

"Tut, tut, tut..."

Cracking sunflower seeds and crossing his legs, the Asura God wore a gleeful, schadenfreude-filled grin as he asked, "God of Evil, Goodness, what do you think is going on? Why did Destruction suddenly get so angry?"

The Evil God King shelled a peanut, tossed it into his mouth, and chewed slowly. A glint of amusement flashed in his eyes. "What else could it be? He must have found something out."

"Found out what?" the Asura God asked knowingly, though his eyes lit up.

"What else? Obviously, it's about Life and the Sea God."

The Evil God King shrugged, speaking as casually as if they were discussing everyday matters. "Otherwise, why do you think Destruction is this angry? He must think the Sea God stole Life away from him."

The Asura God froze for a moment, then burst out laughing. "No way, right? The Sea God? That kid only ascended not long ago. Does he really have the nerve?"

"Who knows?"

The Goddess of Goodness picked up a slice of watermelon and took a bite, juice running down the corner of her mouth.

She casually wiped it away with her sleeve, her manner carefree as she analyzed, "But one thing is certain: the Sea God must be inside right now. Otherwise, Destruction would not be this furious."

The Asura God nodded thoughtfully, cracked another sunflower seed, and asked, "But what would the Sea God want with Life? As far as I know, they usually have no contact at all. One is a first-class god, the other a God King. They have nothing to do with each other. Could it really be that?"

It was no wonder Destruction thought that way. If it were anyone else, they would probably think the same.

Though the possibility was small, it was not impossible.

The Evil God King and the Goddess of Goodness exchanged a glance, a shared understanding flashing through both their eyes.

Of course, they knew why the Sea God had gone to see the Goddess of Life.

Naturally, it was for that child, and for the deal between them.

But they could not reveal that secret to the Asura God yet.

Although they were all God Kings, some matters were better known by as few people as possible.

The Goddess of Goodness's eyes darted about as she decided to change the subject.

She looked at the Asura God and asked with a smile, "Asura, let me ask you something. If you were Life, would you choose Destruction or the Sea God?"

The Asura God was stunned by the question, then fell into deep thought.

In terms of identity and status, the God of Destruction was a God King who commanded the authority of destruction, standing at the very pinnacle of the God Realm.

The Sea God, on the other hand, was merely a first-class deity.

Though he was also considered a high-ranking god, the gap between him and a God King was not small by any means.

Saying Destruction surpassed the Sea God by ten streets was already putting it mildly.

As for strength, there was even less to say.

The God of Destruction was one of the God Realm's most formidable combatants.

His power of destruction was enough to annihilate everything.

Though the Sea God was strong as well, compared to the God of Destruction, he was not even in the same league.

It would be no problem for Destruction to hang him up and beat him.

As for appearance...

Well, they were both rather ordinary, each with his own merits.

But the God of Destruction's domineering, sharp presence clearly suited the bearing of a God King better.

So unless the Goddess of Life was blind, or had some unusual preference.

How could she possibly choose the Sea God over the God of Destruction?

Was that not a joke?

Of course, if she had her eye on him, that would explain it.

He, the Asura God, was not only one of the God Kings, but also the most handsome man in the entire God Realm.

He and a beautiful, gentle God King like the Goddess of Life were truly a match made in heaven.

"She would definitely choose Destruction."

Thinking it was one thing, but he certainly could not say it aloud.

So the Asura God could only say matter-of-factly, "Isn't that obvious? One is a God King, the other is a first-class god. Even an idiot knows which one to choose."

"Then there you have it."

The Goddess of Goodness spread her hands and commented, "So Destruction's jealousy is completely unreasonable."

"But the problem is..."

The Asura God scratched his head, his face full of confusion. "If the Sea God and the Goddess of Life are not involved with each other, then why did the Sea God come looking for her? They usually have nothing to do with each other. They suddenly got together—don't tell me they were discussing how to grow flowers?"

The Evil God King and the Goddess of Goodness exchanged another glance, and both tacitly remained silent.

Seeing this, the Asura God grew even more curious.

He looked at the Evil God King, then at the Goddess of Goodness, his eyes full of probing suspicion. "You two... do you know some inside information?"

"Don't know." The Evil God King shook his head, his expression sincere.

"Not sure." The Goddess of Goodness shook her head as well, looking innocent.

The Asura God eyed them suspiciously. He always felt these two were hiding something from him, but he could not find any proof.

He curled his lip and decided not to press further, continuing to crack sunflower seeds and watch the show.

No matter what happened, the truth would eventually come out.

The Asura God might not be good at much else, but when it came to watching a spectacle, he was first-rate.

Inside the Palace of Life, however, the atmosphere was far less relaxed than outside.
