Background / History

Seele first appears as a student living in a girls' dormitory. She and Ling Xi grow close through everyday outings, including shopping and sharing milk tea; although she complains about his excesses, she quietly helps carry his purchases. Their relationship becomes an acknowledged romance, even if Seele is initially too shy to state it plainly. 46 56 74

Ling Xi brings Seele away from Changkong City ahead of a coming Honkai outbreak while withholding the full reason from her. She later recognizes this same evasiveness when he becomes increasingly concerned about her future, repeatedly pressing him to explain what he fears. 187

Ling Xi learns that Seele is fated to become the Sixth Herrscher, the Herrscher of Death. He acquires the Gemini Stigmata and a Soul Fragment specifically to ensure that her consciousness could be preserved and, if necessary, restored. 167 168 189

Seele accepts implantation of the Gemini Stigmata to gain the ability to resist Honkai, but its initial effect is far below expectations. Her latent Herrscher nature soon manifests in a simulated Herrscher incident: she loses recognition of Elysia and Sakura, summons Honkai Beasts, and nearly devastates the surrounding city. 184 196 197

After recovering, Seele is remorseful and frightened by what she did. Ling Xi and Mobius commit to saving her rather than treating her as an enemy, while Mobius develops a plan to seal or separate the Herrscher consciousness through the Herrscher Core. 189 197

A later time reset returns Seele to an earlier state without resetting the Sixth Herrscher's core. Subsequent tests show that she retains her human consciousness while possessing almost perfect compatibility with the Herrscher of Death Core, enabling her to wield its power without being controlled by it. 203 210

She is observant and emotionally perceptive. When Ling Xi tries to hide his fears about the Sixth Herrscher, Seele notices that he is behaving as he did when he concealed the danger in Changkong City and directly confronts him about it. 187
