Mo Ci killed Beigong Xianfeng after he lied to protect Sikong Jing, then headed toward the War Soul Dynasty to capture Sikong Jing. Sikong Jing found Beigong Xianfeng dead and used demonic blood and medicine to revive him; the chapter ended when Beigong Xianfeng's heart began beating faintly.
Sikong Jing revived the gravely injured Beigong Xianfeng and rushed him back to the battlefield, where his return briefly rallied the Long Night Empire’s routed forces. After collapsing in Youye Prefecture City, Beigong Xianfeng revealed that Sikong Jing had brought him back from the dead and began addressing his commanders.
Beigong Xianfeng revealed that Ji Tan had used Mo Ci to try to kill him, then appointed Sikong Jing as acting commander to defend against the War Soul Dynasty. Sikong Jing identified the War Soul Reaper Army as the key target and ordered the spearmen to charge, leaving Beigong Xianfeng to recognize the surprise tactic.
Sikong Jing directed the Long Night Black Burn Army through a risky series of formation changes, then led the Dark Wing Camp in a surprise attack on the War Soul Reaper Army. The chapter left the War Soul Reaper Army suffering heavy casualties as the Dark Wing warriors attacked from behind the charging Black Fierce Horses.
Sikong Jing killed the War Soul Reaper commander and rallied the Dark Wing Camp, but Lu Lingun fired a powerful arrow at him from Ghost Soul Prefecture City. Sikong Jing used a Battle Soul expert as a shield, yet the arrow pierced through the man, leaving Sikong Jing’s fate uncertain.
Sikong Jing killed the War Soul Reaper Army commander, rallied the Long Night Empire troops, and took command of the battle against Lu Lingun. After the armies withdrew at dusk, he went to check on the gravely ill Beigong Xianfeng.
Beigong Xianfeng entrusted Sikong Jing and Cao Yi with protecting the Gloom Plains and the Long Night Empire before succumbing to his wounds. Sikong Jing resolved to save him with the dangerous Black Tortoise Spring.
Sikong Jing risked his life to absorb the Divine Turtle’s Black Tortoise Spring and open his own Spiritual Platform Sea of Consciousness. He used its purified power to restore Beigong Xianfeng’s consciousness, then saw the damage still ravaging his body.
Sikong Jing secretly placed Beigong Xianfeng in a month-long state of feigned death, then told the others he was powerless to revive him. As Cao Yi announced Beigong Xianfeng’s supposed death and named Sikong Jing temporary commander, Sikong Jing broke through to the Dao Lieutenant Realm.
Lu Lingun learned that Beigong Xianfeng had died and that Dark Wing had been named acting commander-in-chief, then prepared to face Sikong Jing's army. Sikong Jing concealed that Beigong Xianfeng had faked his death, attended the farewell ceremony, and took command as the second day's battle began.
Sikong Jing used Lu Lingun’s belief that grief and indignation would make the Long Night Empire Army collapse to lure the War Soul Dynasty Army into a losing formation battle. He brought his army to Ghost Soul City’s gates and then withdrew, leaving Lu Lingun furious and the trap only partly understood.
Sikong Jing deceived Lu Lingun with a false timetable, then led a night raid that killed over a million War Soul Dynasty beast-blood warriors. Meanwhile, Ji Tan secured permission to travel to the Twelve Prefectures of the Gloom Plains and planned to seize control of the Long Night Black Burn Army.
Sikong Jing routed the War Soul Dynasty army at Ghost Soul Prefecture City, then resolved to keep attacking so the Long Night Black Burn Army would remain loyal to him rather than Ji Tan’s incoming commander. When Ji Tan arrived with an imperial decree, Sikong Jing refused to kneel.
Ji Tan and Cheng Yusui arrived to take command of the Long Night Black Burn Army, but Sikong Jing revealed that the army had surrounded Ghost Soul Prefecture City. He announced the impending handover to the troops, leaving both armies shocked and unsettled.
Sikong Jing refused to remove his mask during the commander's seal handover, and the Long Night Black Burn Army rallied behind him when Cheng Yusui's men threatened him. Cheng Yusui received the seal, but the soldiers ignored his first command to lay down their weapons.
Sikong Jing confronted Ji Tan over Commander Beigong’s murder and refused his demand to submit. Ji Tan stabbed himself and accused Sikong Jing of assassination, triggering a clash aboard the Divine Void Ship as Ning Jingjing ordered the Long Night Black Burn Army to attack.
Sikong Jing withdrew the Long Night Black Burn Army from Ghost Soul Prefecture City to avoid a charge of rebellion, then temporarily left the army to seek a way to bring Ji Tan down. The soldiers vowed to hold Youye Prefecture City until Sikong Jing returned, while Lu Lingun ordered scouts to search for him.
Sikong Jing reassured Ning Jingjing that he had a plan to protect the Long Night Black Burn Army and left her to return to her role. In Youye Prefecture City, Ji Tan and Cheng Yusui failed to pressure the deputy commanders, leaving Ji Tan unable to control the army or conceal his danger.
Ji Tan plotted to watch Ji Shengmang and seize control of the Long Night Black Burn Army while Sikong Jing returned to the capital aboard the Long Flower. On the ship, Sikong Jing challenged the rumors praising Cheng Yusui, and Hua Lidian confirmed that Dark Wing had commanded the army after Beigong Xianfeng’s death.
Aboard the Long Flower Divine Void Ship, Sikong Jing met Hua Lidian of the Tyrant Heaven Chamber of Commerce, who defended the late Beigong Xianfeng and shared the updated Eastern Plains Thousand Tyrants Ranking. Sikong Jing learned that Wang Ge had narrowly lost to Gongyang Ying but was safe and traveling west with the Worry-Forget Sect’s Grand Elder.
Sikong Jing learned that he had risen to rank 420 after defeating Lu Ding, while people nearby blamed the Long Night Holy Dragon Palace for the turmoil. When they mocked the Long Night Star Luo Palace, Instructor Bai Weizang arrived and, after Zou Fu accused Sikong Jing of insulting the palace, ordered him to kneel.
Sikong Jing revealed himself aboard the Long Flower Divine Void Ship and killed a Long Night Star Luo Palace student, prompting Bai Weizang and the others to surround him. He reminded them of the Ancient Demon Dragon’s mark, then offered to suppress it and challenge them all, leaving the Star Luo Palace fighters preparing to attack.
Sikong Jing revealed that he had reached the peak of the Dao Lieutenant Realm and killed a Star Luo Palace instructor with his newly created Eternal Night Wolf Fang technique. He slaughtered the attackers aboard the Long Flower Divine Void Ship, shot Bai Weizang and two other mentors as they fled, and left the Star Luo Palace students begging for mercy.
Sikong Jing learned that Star Luo Grand Academy planned to target Long Night Holy Dragon Palace and that Peng Peng’s senior sister intended to lure him out. After Hua Lidian estimated Sikong Jing would enter the Eastern Plains Thousand Tyrants Ranking’s top hundred, Sikong Jing asked him not to report the battle.
Sikong Jing refused to enter the top hundred of the Thousand Tyrants Ranking because he did not want his younger sister, Sikong Ling, to see his name. He destroyed Hua Lidian’s Yellow Jade Slate to prevent the ranking, revealing his Initial Spirit Platform Manifestation, then promised to accept a rank in the two hundreds after killing Peng Peng’s senior sister.
