Weng Ting and Hua Meixi tried to get the Spirit Shadow Formation shut down for Sikong Jing, while Xiao Qibo and Old Ling insisted he was a burden. Hua Meixi revealed that Sikong Jing had protected her from three assassins, but Old Ling still assumed he had died.
Weng Ting forced Old Ling to retract the Spirit Shadow Formation so she could try to save Sikong Jing, only to discover he had survived and killed the assassins. Sikong Jing then exposed the corpse of the final assassin, leaving Xiao Qibo and Old Ling stunned.
Sikong Jing revealed that he had killed all four Shi Yu assassins, but Old Ling refused to believe him or accept that he had passed the Spirit Shadow Formation. When Old Ling attacked him, Sikong Jing used the Shadow Moon Step and a powerful crossbow to pin him to a wall, leaving the crowd stunned.
Sikong Jing forced Weng Ting to answer for Elder Ling’s attack, and she punished the elder and promised to submit him to her grandfather’s judgment. As the group prepared to depart for the Spirit-Seizing War, Xiao Qibo demanded that Sikong Jing be sent away or he would leave.
Weng Ting rejected Xiao Qibo and took Sikong Jing with her toward Eastern Spirit City, while Xiao Qibo tried to retaliate by exposing Sikong Jing’s whereabouts. Duanmu Chun stopped him, and Sikong Jing later explained that the Shi Yu assassins had probably targeted him because he had killed Pei Fenqing.
Yao Yulou explained that the Jade Appraisal Chamber targeted Hua Meixi to use her as a hostage and described the negotiations that stopped Pei Feishan from pursuing Sikong Jing. He then announced Sikong Jing’s rewards, including an Emperor Martial Stage demonic beast spirit shadow, as the group prepared for the Spirit-Seizing War.
Sikong Jing accepted an Emperor Martial Stage Six-Elephant Heavenly Dragon spirit shadow and withdrew to study it, while Yao Yulou entrusted Hua Meixi’s strange condition to his care. As the Zhang siblings and the two women followed him into the cabin, the spirit shadow recognized Sikong Jing and began to kneel before him.
Sikong Jing accepted the Six-Elephant Heavenly Dragon's spirit shadow into his spirit platform, alarming Zhang Duiyin and the others, who entered to pull it out. He reassured them that his connection to the Six-Elephant Heavenly Dragon kept him safe, and Zhang Duiyi told Zhang Duiyin to apologize for acting recklessly.
After Zhang Duiyin entered Sikong Jing’s consciousness and discovered his spirit image, the others learned that he and Hua Meixi had both achieved spirit-martial fusion before reaching the Spirit Martial Stage. The others left, and Hua Meixi thanked Sikong Jing before asking him to examine her condition.
Sikong Jing identified Hua Meixi’s rapidly advancing Demonic Charm Battle Body as a powerful bloodline of the ferocious beast Night Charm and warned her that powerful experts would target her if they discovered it. Hua Meixi promised to keep the secret, while Sikong Jing remained wary of being drawn into the danger.
Sikong Jing strengthened his spirit shadow and continued cultivating while the group traveled to Eastern Spirit City. There, Weng Ting reunited with her grandfather, Weng Yinke, who welcomed her and the Eastern Tyrant Branch’s geniuses but realized only four of the expected five had arrived.
Weng Ting faced challenges from Weng Wu and Great Elder Weng Yindu over a missing external aide, then publicly confronted them by revealing Old Ling's injuries. The chapter ended with Old Ling defending his attempt to drive away Sikong Jing, whom he called a battle-body-less trash.
Weng Ting defended Sikong Jing after the Elder Family mocked him as a weak non-battle body and questioned her choice of reinforcements. Zhang Duiyi challenged Sikong Jing to prove his worth by making a move.
Weng Ting’s reinforcements challenged the Elder Family’s Weng Wu, and Sikong Jing promised to defeat him with one spear. Sikong Jing shattered Weng Wu’s attack and sent him flying, leaving the crowd stunned and silent.
Sikong Jing silenced the Elder Family’s doubts with a devastating spear strike, and Weng Ting exposed Weng Yindu’s scheme. Weng Yinke killed Old Ling and barred Weng Wu and the First Elder’s line from the Spirit-Seizing War as Weng Ting led Sikong Jing and the others away.
Sikong Jing silenced Weng Yindu’s objections by breaking through to the War Martial Realm, then prepared for the Spirit-Seizing War. His cultivation was interrupted when Pei Fenyi arrived at the Elder Family’s gate and demanded to see him.
Pei Fenyi confronted the Elder Family and threatened to kill Sikong Jing and every Elder Family participant in the Spirit-Seizing War. Sikong Jing revealed himself to face her, leaving the Elder Family shaken by the danger his presence had brought upon them.
Sikong Jing challenged Pei Fenyi with a demonic claw strike, crushing her crimson true qi and forcing her to batter the attack apart. He left the confrontation confident that the Spirit-Seizing War would decide everything, while his allies and enemies reeled from his strength.
After Sikong Jing stunned the Elder Family with a claw strike, Pei Fenyi and Wrath Mountain assumed he had relied on an imperial artifact and planned to seize it in the Spirit-Seizing Battlefield. An eerie sedan arrived, and Sikong Jing recognized the Supreme Emotionless Art, leaving the identity of its practitioner unknown.
Sikong Jing sensed a terrifying presence outside the Elder Family's gates and went to investigate, fearing it might be connected to his sister Ling'er. A mysterious master and her disciples confronted Pei Fenyi, then announced that they would participate in the Spirit-Seizing War, leaving everyone stunned.
A pale-faced old man arrived with his disciple and demonstrated overwhelming strength, then offered the Elder Family his disciple as outside support. After the family hesitated and invoked the Tyrant Heaven Chamber of Commerce, he left for Desert Dust Academy instead.
After the pale-faced elder punished Weng Yinke and ordered his disciples to slaughter the Eastern Tyrant Branch and Elder Family during the Spirit-Seizing War, Sikong Jing identified them as the Thoughtless Sacred Sect. He and Weng Ting framed the refusal to accept them as outside support as deliberate, leaving the others to believe the Elder Family would rather fight to the death than ally with them.
Sikong Jing used demonic smoke to shatter the Thoughtless Sacred Sect frost infecting Weng Yinke and warned him not to resist with true qi. When a Shi Yu genius tried to prove the frost was harmless to those below the Emperor Martial Stage, it spread across his body, and he cried out to Pei Fenyi for help.
Sikong Jing carried the frost-covered Weng Yinke into the Old Weng Family residence while a Jade Appraisal prodigy died after Pei Fenyi and Chang E failed to save him. Pei Fenyi vowed to retaliate and planned to use the Thoughtless Sacred Sect against the Eastern Tyrant Branch, while the Weng family rushed to meet Sikong Jing and Weng Yinke.
Sikong Jing brought the frost-stricken Weng Yinke to a quiet room while the others learned the danger posed by the Thoughtless Sacred Sect. Inside, Sikong Jing recognized the enemy’s complete Supreme Emotionless Art and realized he needed to strengthen his Eternal Night Love Art to save Weng Yinke.
