Duanmu Chun considered suppressing Sikong Jing’s rewards, but Ying Lutu’s praise of Sikong Jing’s talent in military formations made him reconsider. He sent Sikong Jing a Black Jade Fragmentary Diagram as a reward and secretly resolved to support his growth while others underestimated him.
Duanmu Chun recommended Sikong Jing to Tyrant Lotus Venerable after learning of his achievements, while Sikong Jing studied military formations with Ying Lutu as news of his exploits spread through the Eastern Tyrant Branch. The chapter ended with Di Geng arriving at Heavenly Wolf Courtyard to announce Sikong Jing’s reward.
Di Geng denied Sikong Jing and the Heavenly Wolf Team any reward, claiming Sikong Jing’s merits were canceled out by killing Captain Dream Snatcher, and gave him a Black Jade Fragmentary Diagram instead. Though junior members turned hostile, the core members rallied around Sikong Jing and renewed their fighting spirit.
After the Eastern Tyrant Branch denied the Heavenly Wolf Team its rewards, Sikong Jing shared spoils taken from Wan San and Pei Fenqing with the team. Yao Yulou learned that Sikong Jing's true strength came from spirit-martial fusion and carried Duanmu Chun's secret gift into the courtyard.
Sikong Jing considered how to help Hua Meixi, continued advancing his formation studies, and watched the fallout from Pei Fenqing’s death and the Yang Family incident. After Yang Yi emerged from seclusion and learned what had happened, Sikong Jing challenged him to a fight.
Yang Yi left to challenge the Tyrant Soul Secret Realm after learning Sikong Jing's Shadow Moon Step, while Weng Ting sought reinforcements for her clan's Spirit Seizing Battle. Duanmu Chun urged her to recruit Sikong Jing, revealing that he had killed Wan Tonghui and reached the Fifth Reverse Soul Realm, and Weng Ting set out to find him and Hua Meixi.
Weng Ting invited Sikong Jing to join her family's Spirit-Seizing Battle squad, and he accepted after learning the battlefield held demon-beast spirit shadows. He prepared to leave Chaos-Shaking City for Elder Spirit Manor, planning to cultivate with the Iron-Wing Divine Vulture's inner core on the way.
Sikong Jing left East Tyrant Courtyard for Elder Spirit Manor, but Pei Feishan learned of his route and sent two peak Spirit Martial Stage assassins to capture him. The assassins attacked him outside Chaos-Shaking City, and Sikong Jing invoked the Ten Dragon Codex as the confrontation began.
Sikong Jing escaped two Shi Yu assassins by hiding inside the Steel Bone Flying Vulture, then sent Duanmu Chun an urgent message. Duanmu Chun received a reassuring report about the others, but his subordinate did not know Sikong Jing had already left the Eastern Tyrant Branch.
Sikong Jing’s message exposed a Jade Appraisal Chamber of Commerce spy inside the Eastern Tyrant Branch, prompting Duanmu Chun to kill him and hurry toward Elder Spirit Manor. Meanwhile, Sikong Jing hid inside the Steel Bone Flying Vulture as the two assassins caught up and stopped it.
Sikong Jing used the Steel Bone Flying Vulture to lure in and kill two Shi Yu assassins searching for him. After the perilous ambush, he emerged from the vulture’s back, leaving the Steel Bone Flying Vulture shaken by the ordeal.
After Sikong Jing killed two peak Spirit Martial Stage assassins, Yao Yulou and Hua Meixi arrived and realized he had escaped without needing rescue. Hua Meixi continued toward Elder Spirit Manor while Yao Yulou waited for the Grand Overlord Commander, and he urged her to tell Sikong Jing about her unstable Demonic Charm Battle Body.
Hua Meixi agreed to let Sikong Jing examine her battle body, while Yao Yulou worried about the Thousand Kings Holy Tower’s control over him. Pei Feishan learned that Duanmu Chun had captured Pei Fenyi and that the assassins sent after Sikong Jing had died, leaving his plans in disarray.
Pei Feishan and Duanmu Chun brought their hostages and allies to Elder Spirit Manor, where Weng Ting’s Spirit Shadow Formation was testing the arriving reinforcements. Sikong Jing arrived after killing two assassins, while Shi'an assassins had infiltrated the formation and Pei Feishan focused on him and Hua Meixi as targets.
Sikong Jing accepted Weng Ting’s Spirit Shadow Formation challenge despite the old steward’s contempt, while Hua Meixi and Xiao Qibo arrived. Sikong Jing and Hua Meixi entered the formation, leaving Xiao Qibo outside with the steward.
Xiao Qibo followed Hua Meixi into the Spirit Shadow Formation, while Pei Feishan revealed that Shi An Group assassins were waiting inside to take a hostage. As the observers watched the formation, Sikong Jing calmly faced a ghostly phantom, prompting Pei Feishan to mock him.
Sikong Jing let spirit shadows possess him to learn how they attacked, while concealing his true purpose of drawing out a hostile presence. Pei Feishan and the leader of Shi'an sent a Spirit Movement Realm assassin disguised as a spirit shadow, prompting Yao Yulou to identify the threat as the outsiders blocked him and Duanmu Chun.
Sikong Jing exposed and defeated a Jade Appraisal Chamber of Commerce assassin who had disguised himself as a spirit shadow in the formation. He left the assassin badly wounded and demanded to know how many others were hidden there and whether they had colluded with anyone from Elder Spirit Manor.
Sikong Jing defeated the assassin and used the Spirit Shadow Formation’s fake spirits to overcome his pain-numbing method. After enduring more than a dozen attacks, the assassin agreed to reveal everything.
Sikong Jing killed the assassin who revealed that Hua Meixi was the assassins’ target, while Shi An ordered them to switch their apparent target to Xiao Qibo. At Elder Spirit Manor, Weng Ting defended her decision to invite Sikong Jing and insisted they wait to see whether he could pass the Spirit Shadow Formation.
Sikong Jing pursued a Shi Yu assassin through the Spirit Shadow Formation and discovered an assassin from the Jade Appraisal Chamber of Commerce attacking Xiao Qibo. The assassin claimed Xiao Qibo was the target, leaving Sikong Jing uncertain whether the killers had changed their plans.
Sikong Jing refused Xiao Qibo’s demand for help after realizing the assassin’s apparent change of target was a trap, then continued searching for Hua Meixi. Pei Feishan and Leader Shi An moved to capture Hua Meixi before Sikong Jing could reach her, and the chapter ended as three hidden assassins wounded her.
Sikong Jing arrived just as Hua Meixi was on the verge of losing control and exposing her dangerous constitution. He sent her away and faced the three assassins alone, while she warned him that they could evade the Spirit Shadow Formation’s attacks.
Sikong Jing protected Hua Meixi while fighting the Shi'an assassins inside the Spirit Shadow Formation, killing one after the assassins split up. He and Hua Meixi later continued toward the pass with two assassins pursuing them as the formation’s spirit shadows grew stronger.
Xiao Qibo escaped the Spirit Shadow Formation wounded and revealed that Jade Appraisal assassins were inside, prompting Weng Ting and the Zhang siblings to suspect Steward Old Ling. A message from Duanmu Chun cleared Old Ling of collusion, while Xiao Qibo dismissed his injuries as the fault of an unnamed burden.
