Overview

Spirit Rings are obtained from spirit beasts and absorbed by Spirit Masters to gain spirit skills, raise Soul Power, and advance through cultivation stages. Their age, color, and attached martial soul determine much of their value and combat significance.

A ring may retain a remnant soul or resentment from its former owner, which can interfere with absorption. Powerful mental strength, divine power, or a compatible sacrifice can overcome this danger 69 117 135 180.

Hunting a Spirit Beast

A Spirit Master may kill a suitable spirit beast and absorb the ring it leaves behind.

• Shen Lian killed the Crimson Flame Sparrow to obtain its 1,700-year ring, enduring a three-hour absorption process 7.
• Zhu Zhuqing absorbed a 3,000-year Gale Demon Wolf ring despite exceeding her expected physical limit; her 30,000-year Gale Demon Wolf spirit bone suppressed the backlash 38.
• Shen Lian killed the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape for their hundred-thousand-year rings 69 70.

Sacrifice

A spirit beast can willingly become a Spirit Ring for a person with a divine inheritance.

• The Evil Emperor accepted Shen Lian's offer to become his ring after being promised resurrection once Shen Lian becomes a god 117.
• The Sky Dream Ice Silkworm willingly sacrificed itself, providing Shen Lian with a million-year ring and spirit skull 126.
• Bi Ji agreed to eventually sacrifice herself as Liu Yuxi's fifth ring after teaching her healing knowledge 128.
• Huang Tian sacrificed itself to become Shen Lian's seventh ring; Shen Lian later sought God-Bestowed Rings for his remaining Purple Imperial Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon rings so Huang Tian could remain a combatant 130.

God-Bestowed Spirit Rings

God-Bestowed Spirit Rings are rewards granted through divine trials rather than conventional hunting.

• Shen Lian received one after completing the first Trial of Destruction and used it to gain his sixth ring 13 14.
• He received another after completing his second trial 98.
• Shen Lian intended for all of the Purple Imperial Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon's rings, except Huang Tian's sacrificed seventh ring, to be God-Bestowed and begin at a million years 130.

Each ring can grant one or more spirit skills.

• Shen Lian's first ring granted Crimson Flame Soul Slash, increasing power by 30% and carrying dragon-type corrosive energy 3.
• The Titan Giant Ape's ring granted a teleportation ability and Purple Imperial Meteor Break 70.
• Bear Lord's ring granted Dark Gold Heaven-Rending Slash and Dragon Soul Sealing Slash 127.
• The Evil Emperor's 800,000-year ring granted Soul Spirit Heaven-Rending Claw and Dragon Radiance World-Extinguishing Wheel 118.
• The Sky Dream Ice Silkworm's million-year ring granted four mental-type spirit skills 126.

Soul Power Growth

Absorption can sharply increase Soul Power, though the result depends on the recipient's foundation and capacity.

• Shen Lian's first trial increased all five of his existing rings by 5,000 years and pushed him through level 59 into the Soul Emperor realm 13.
• Xiao Wu's hundred-thousand-year ring raised Shen Lian from level 66 to level 68, nearing 69 59.
• The Sky Azure Bull Python's ring brought Shen Lian to level 74; the Titan Giant Ape's ring later raised him to level 76 69 70.
• Absorbing one million-year, one 450,000-year, and one 300,000-year ring raised Shen Lian from level 78 to level 85 despite the increased Soul Power capacity provided by his Soul Core 127.
• Liu Yuxi reached level 48 after absorbing an eleven-thousand-year Holy Light Unicorn ring 114.

Martial Soul Interaction

A ring is attached to a particular martial soul and can alter or reinforce it.

• Shen Lian's first ring caused the Dragon-Slaying Blade to manifest during absorption and triggered a martial soul mutation 3.
• The Ten-Headed Sun-Burning Dragon's million-year ring became the sixth ring of Shen Lian's Purple Imperial Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon martial soul 180.
• Shen Lian's ninth-ring configuration was displayed along the Dragon-Slaying Blade, with eight black-and-red rings and a final golden million-year ring 136.
• Shen Lian later revealed nine hundred-thousand-year rings during the defense of Tiandou City, intimidating the opposing forces 207.

Absorption Risks

• High-age rings can exceed a recipient's physical endurance; Shen Lian strengthened his constitution with whale jelly before attempting an 800-year first ring 2 5.
• The Crimson Flame Sparrow's fire-attribute ring caused Shen Lian severe difficulty during its three-hour absorption 7.
• Remnant souls may attack the absorber's consciousness. The Titan Giant Ape's remnant soul was destroyed by Divine Power of Destruction, while the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King's remnant soul was erased by Shen Lian's Mark of Destruction 69 135.
• Shen Lian's mental power, strengthened through the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm, crushed the Ten-Headed Sun-Burning Dragon's residual soul shock during absorption 180.
