Background / History

Cabaji initially serves as the Buggy Pirates' chief of staff and one of the crew's strongest fighters alongside Mohji. During the approach to Gali Island, he advocates plundering its villages with an overwhelming show of force and assumes Buggy intends a covert surprise attack. 1 2

After Buggy kills Tatadan, he gives Cabaji the Great Grade Sword Sakura Blizzard and appoints him the crew's first swordsman. The gift reignites Cabaji's long-dormant ambition; he swears loyalty to Buggy and vows not to disappoint him. 3

Cabaji is defeated by Roronoa Zoro after attempting to use Sakura Blizzard's superior sharpness to ruin Zoro's weapons. The loss becomes a defining setback: Cabaji admits his weakness and commits himself to becoming stronger under Buggy's leadership. 15 16
