Hearing that, Gavin was genuinely taken aback.
Jon had always been reassuringly reliable when it came to logistics. Gavin pointed, and he struck.
His exceptional management skills, along with his experience as the head of a startup real estate group before the apocalypse, made managing a logistics division so easy that it practically wasted his personal abilities and managerial talent.
So what could have happened in logistics that made old Jon come to him, asking for a private talk?
Thinking that, Gavin immediately grew more serious. After a moment of silence, he stood up and waved at Eugene and the others, who were eating with great enjoyment.
Then Gavin led Jon straight to the second floor, stopping outside the room where Gavin had once lived.
That room held many memories of Gavin and Nikita. So even after Gavin moved into the master bedroom on the third floor, he had never given this room to anyone else.
The Alliance was not so strapped for space that every room had to be used. Thus, the room had remained vacant until now, with only Gavin and Nikita occasionally coming by.
And now, since Jon wanted to speak privately.
Though Gavin did not know what Jon wanted to discuss, this room happened to be perfect for it.
Gavin pressed his fingerprint against the doorknob, gently pushed the door open, and led Jon inside. He brought him into the study and had him sit on the sofa opposite him.
Jon sat down naturally, gave a light laugh, and spoke to Gavin.
"Boss, it's like this. I—I wanted to—you're planning to leave the camp for a while, take the Golden Road to Atlanta, right?"
"I think this is the first time you'll be leaving camp for so long. For work that's bound to be this
