Background / History

Nikita was raised under an unusually strict legal education by her mother, Wendiya David, a prominent New York lawyer. Her childhood entertainment consisted of mock defenses based on real cases, and she had little unstructured free time. After Wendiya died of illness, Nikita's father took her in; she adopted her grandmother's surname, Xingbao, rather than David's. 96 99 108

Following the zombie outbreak, Nikita remained isolated at her father's estate with Bruce, a Golden Retriever, and a silver-pink Arabian horse. When Joseph climbed over the estate wall while fleeing, she mistook him for a zombie and shot him. She then risked a trip to town for antibiotics after realizing he was alive. 97

Gavin, Steve, and Madison found Nikita while investigating the estate. Joseph was exposed as a David Sect member who had concealed a firearm and intended to threaten Gavin or exploit Nikita; Gavin killed him before he could act.
