Ueno Kei captured Moryo and tried to question him, but Moryo exploded and trapped him inside a black barrier. Obito revealed that he had used Moryo to remove Ueno Kei from the battlefield, then faced Kakashi, Jiraiya, Guy, and the Allied Forces with six reincarnated jinchuriki.
Obito prepared to use Moryo to delay Ueno Kei while he and Black Zetsu discussed the Eye of the Moon Plan and its final stages. Black Zetsu departed before Kakashi’s group arrived, leaving Obito to face his former friends and enemies.
Kakashi confronted Obito after learning his identity, but Obito rejected his pleas and prepared to fight the approaching Naruto and another ally. Trapped inside Obito’s barrier, Ueno Kei tried to summon help to escape, but the attempt seemed to fail.
Ueno Kei was drawn into a mental space by Hagoromo Otsutsuki, who revealed that he knew of Hamura's plan and intended to prevent anyone from destroying the world. The chapter left Ueno Kei facing the danger of Hagoromo's intervention.
Ueno Kei confronted Hagoromo Otsutsuki in a mental space, rejected his assumptions about the world and Kaguya, and declared that his answer was the world itself. After breaking free, Ueno Kei headed toward the strongest chakra fluctuations to rejoin Naruto and the others.
Hagoromo Otsutsuki left the decision about the future to Sasuke and Naruto, and Sasuke awakened a nine-tomoe Rinnegan before setting out to kill Ueno Kei. As Ueno Kei rushed toward the battlefield, Sasuke confronted him, claiming Itachi’s power and insisting he would pursue peace.
Ueno Kei fought Sasuke’s armored Susanoo and managed to bind it, telling Sasuke the battle was over. Before he could decide whether to kill Sasuke, a sudden attack struck him and drew blood.
Sasuke ambushed Ueno Kei and tried to kill him, arguing that Ueno Kei was a dangerous variable in his plan to eliminate Kaguya and remake the world. Ueno Kei escaped despite severe injuries, but a mysterious figure appeared before him and spoke from within his mind.
Ueno Kei confronted a black-clad version of himself who identified as Moryo, the embodiment of humanity’s malice, and merged with him. Weakened and overwhelmed by visions, Ueno Kei was swallowed by the man as Second Pillar arrived and witnessed the scene.
A man who devoured Ueno Kei convinced Sasuke to keep their alliance against Kaguya Otsutsuki and disguised himself as Ueno Kei before they returned to the battlefield. Hagoromo Otsutsuki and White Night discussed the man’s strange power and Ueno Kei’s destiny, leaving Ueno’s fate uncertain.
Ueno Kei confronted death in a realm of nothingness, where Hamura Otsutsuki restored his soul and helped him understand his true identity. After destroying his dark counterpart, Ueno Kei broke through the void and declared himself Hamura Otsutsuki.
Kaguya Otsutsuki emerged in Momoshiki Otsutsuki’s body, and Naruto and Sasuke fought to seal her while Moryo plotted to devour her. Ueno Kei revealed that he was Hamura Otsutsuki reborn, destroyed Moryo, absorbed Sasuke, and took Kaguya away; five years later, he returned to Yuki.
