Childhood

Shisui met Yakushi Hane near the Naka River while Hane was training on the water. He introduced himself politely, apologized for interrupting the training, and quickly formed a friendship with him. His cheerful, gentle nature distinguished him from several arrogant Uchiha children who later confronted Hane. 11 12

When Izuma, Homura, and Kan harassed Hane, Shisui intervened and sternly stopped them despite not yet possessing the Sharingan. He apologized to Hane on their behalf and rebuked the three for disgracing the Uchiha name; even they acknowledged that Shisui was already stronger than them. 12 13

At six, Shisui entered a live-combat survival test against three genin. He eliminated one in seconds with shuriken, outmaneuvered the others with clones, and finished the test with Fire Release, earning an immediate pass. 28 29

Rivalry with Yakushi Hane

Shisui’s first major duel with Hane forced him to reveal his Body Flicker Technique and awaken his one-tomoe Sharingan. He combined the dōjutsu’s perception with Flash Slice, but Hane countered him with String Release and won by tripping him with a hidden thread. 33 34

Konoha Service and Clan Conflict

As a jonin, Shisui became known throughout Konoha and beyond as “Body Flicker Shisui.” He led Konoha shinobi in driving back Mist infiltrators and was entrusted by the Third Hokage with an S-rank infiltration mission into Kirigakure. 158

Shisui was caught between his loyalty to Konoha and the Uchiha Clan’s increasing alienation after the Nine-Tails incident. Clan hardliners, including Uchiha Kazama, branded him a traitor for associating with Hane and supporting the village. 159 160

Determined to stop the Uchiha coup without bloodshed, Shisui considered using Kotoamatsukami to change the clan leadership’s intentions. He and Itachi attempted to intervene as the coup preparations escalated. 215

Danzō later ambushed Shisui with Izanagi and stole his right Mangekyō Sharingan. Unable to stop the coup and fearing Danzō would take his remaining eye, Shisui entrusted his left eye to Itachi, asking him to protect Konoha and preserve the Uchiha Clan’s honor. 310

Believing his death could weaken the clan’s morale and delay the coup, Shisui leapt from a cliff into the Naka River. His death awakened Itachi’s Mangekyō Sharingan. 310

At his first meeting with Hane, Shisui was a small, thin Uchiha boy with slightly wavy black hair, large black eyes, and a distinctive button nose. He wore a dark, high-collared short-sleeved shirt bearing the Uchiha fan crest, matching trousers, and white leg bandages. 11
