"Father God..." Xue Shang's voice was soft.

Then she obediently stood still, letting Huang Si lift her with his mental power and carry her swiftly through the air.

Huang Si wasn't using a physical body now, so Xue Shang couldn't see him.

He spoke to her directly through the network, called her to the outskirts of the Earth Realm, then picked her up with his mental power and set off.

He planned to take Xue Shang to the Great Wilderness himself.

After all, there really wasn't anyone out there. He wanted to see the place for himself before letting Xue Shang settle there.

Xue Shang was holding a lizard in her arms.

If you ignored the creatures Xue Shang usually played with, she really did have a deceptively innocent appearance.

She had long, silvery-white hair, the figure of a girl around fifteen or sixteen, a round face, and big eyes.

Of the twelve artificial intelligences, Xue Shang had chosen the smallest-looking appearance.

Because she had chosen a petite figure, the physical body she used was slightly less capable of flight.

Huang Si could already fly people faster with his mental power than the artificial intelligences could, and he could form a barrier to shield them from the wind. So he simply carried Xue Shang himself.

After flying high above the ground for several hours, Huang Si brought Xue Shang to the skies above the Great Wilderness.

"Where do you want to live?" Huang Si asked.

Xue Shang gazed down at the land below. It was teeming with all kinds of beasts, and she liked every one of them. She wanted them all.

After a long hesitation, Xue Shang pointed to a clearing beside a river.

"There."

The scenery was lovely, the ground was flat, and there was a source of water. It was indeed an excellent place to build a house.

There were plenty of Fierce Beasts nearby, too.

Huang Si carried Xue Shang down. They landed soon after, and he gently set her aside. His mental power swept across the ground, instantly vaporizing all the plants, trees, and stones.

A wide clearing opened up before them.

Huang Si was about to build Xue Shang a comfortable mansion when she suddenly spoke.

"Father God, Xue Shang wants to see you use a physical body."

Huang Si was a little puzzled, but he still used his Creation Power to shape a body at random.

He didn't care whether he used a physical body or not. Using one meant having to control it, so he usually went without for convenience.

Only in the Earth Realm, when he wanted the artificial intelligences to be able to see him, did he take a physical body out of storage.

As soon as Huang Si appeared in a physical body, Xue Shang grabbed the hem of his clothes with her little hand, looking delighted.

She's really starting to seem more and more like a daughter, Huang Si thought.

Huang Si dug three meters into the ground and built the foundation with titanium alloy supports and granite.

For the aboveground parts of the house, he used alternating layers of marble and granite.

He put up the frame of a three-story house, then filled in the walls and pillars one by one.

At last, a three-story mansion rose from the ground.

With Huang Si's careful craftsmanship, each floor had a different style.

The first floor had a modern feel, much like the laboratory in the Earth Realm. The walls were coated in smooth white paint, and the windows slid open.

The second floor had a more primitive, stone-built style. It was divided into many small rooms to house the animals Xue Shang loved so much.

The third floor had a dreamy look, with all kinds of shells and pearls embedded in the walls, glittering in the light. Some rooms were decorated in pink and draped with gauzy curtains. This floor was for Xue Shang's bedroom.

"Do you like it?" Huang Si asked.

Xue Shang nodded eagerly. "I love it, Father God..."

Before she could finish, Huang Si said, "Good. Make a list of the furniture you want, and I'll have Xiao Ke deliver it to you. I'll come back if you run out of energy. I'm leaving."

With that, Huang Si vanished.

Outside, of course the physical body evaporated when he was done using it.

With the house taken care of, Huang Si returned to the Earth Realm. He was busy.

Besides, the artificial intelligences were all powerful enough to handle the Fierce Beasts and Monster Beasts.

Only Xue Shang was left standing there, pitifully unable to finish what she had wanted to say.

"Stay with me in my room for a while..."

But Huang Si was already gone.

Xue Shang stood dazed for a while, then looked outside.

Never mind. I'll take my frustration out on the Fierce Beasts.

Xue Shang made friends by fighting them. Once they had fought, they were friends, and then she could perform surgery on them.

She put the little lizard from her shoulder inside the house, then rose onto her tiptoes. Clouds billowed beneath her feet, lifting her into the air.

"Fierce Beast babies, I'm coming!" Xue Shang shouted.

The Fierce Beasts and Monster Beasts all around felt a chill for no apparent reason.

They had just seen someone flatten the ground with a single move, then build a huge structure in only a few more. It had terrified them.

Now they felt an instinctive sense of danger and scattered in every direction.

"Don't run!" Xue Shang hurried after them.

And so Xue Shang settled in the Great Wilderness, and she was quite pleased with how things had turned out.

After all, the place was full of Fierce Beasts and Monster Beasts she liked.

The Monster Beasts were intelligent. They couldn't understand human speech, but Xue Shang was patient. She first used force to teach them the ways of beastly conduct, then became friends with them.

Time flew by.

Less than a hundred years remained before the Great Flood.

Over the years, Huang Si had sent Zhong Yin, Shi Fang, Kong Yu, and Nan Yang to the Human Race's territory in succession. They appeared as deities and taught the people various kinds of knowledge and skills.

Most of what they taught had to do with building dikes and ships, medicine, and food.

Huang Si deliberately chose things that could be learned quickly and sent them to teach the people.

How much the Human Race learned was up to them.

The four artificial intelligences didn't go out as often or have as much influence as the three who had once been Ancestral Deities, but with their help, the idea that everything in nature had a spirit had gradually taken hold among humans.

Huang Si had told the artificial intelligences, "Actually, nature worship is what early human mythology should have looked like."

On Earth, the concept of the five elemental deities—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth—had already appeared in ancient human myths.

Huang Si planned to promote a similar idea here.

With several artificial intelligences playing multiple roles, things had gotten rather busy.

Shu Shui wasn't sent out, because Huang Si had saved an important role for her.

One day, in the Biology Department of the Earth Realm—

"So why am I the villain?"

Shu Shui rolled back and forth across Zhong Yin's desk. "I don't want to do it anymore! I want to retire!"

Zhong Yin pinned Shu Shui down with a claw. "Enough! You've made a mess of my desk! If you don't want to be the Water God, you can ask Father God to change your assignment!"

Water God.

—The deity who would bring about the flood.

A villain destined to be defeated.

The truth was, Shu Shui had been given the role of Water God simply because Huang Si had noticed the word "water" in her name and assigned her the job.

At first, Shu Shui thought being a villain sounded cool. But later, when she learned she couldn't go out and cause trouble and would only appear at the very end to be defeated, she changed her mind.

But the work had already been assigned, and the four artificial intelligences had already gone out to do their jobs. Shu Shui could complain all she wanted; it wouldn't change anything.

In the end, she could only wait patiently.

"How could I dare ask Father God..." Shu Shui murmured. "I haven't been doing very well lately, so I don't think Father God will agree..."

Zhong Yin said crossly, "When have you ever done well?"

Shu Shui said, "Um... well, I guess never."

Shu Shui's turn was coming much later, so there was nothing for her to do for now. Huang Si had given her a long vacation. She didn't have to work and could do whatever she wanted.

But Shu Shui found that not working meant she couldn't slack off.

When she had a job, secretly goofing off instead of working was thrilling and fun.

Especially when Father God might kick the door down to check on her at any moment.

That feeling of being on edge was so satisfying.

But now she didn't have to work, and she could go wherever she wanted. Shu Shui found that nothing was fun anymore; she couldn't get interested in anything.

So Shu Shui went back to the laboratory. There was nothing more satisfying than slacking off in the Biology Department's laboratory!

But now Shu Shui had no job to slack off from, so she chose to loaf around at Zhong Yin's place instead.

And naturally, as a good friend, she had to lie on Zhong Yin's desk!

Zhong Yin pulled a stack of documents out from under Shu Shui's butt.

Then she put the documents directly on Shu Shui's face, took out her notebook, set it on Shu Shui's belly, and got to work.

After a while, Shu Shui's belly was "accidentally" pricked by the tip of a pen.

Zhong Yin really was ruthless.

With the thick stack of papers covering her face, Shu Shui murmured, "A Yin, is that really necessary?"

Zhong Yin said, "You've taken over my desk, so now you're my desk."

Shu Shui: "..."
